    When I started training a few months ago I used this channel to learn proper form and since then the trainers at the local gym have told me multiple times that I have one of the best squat forms that they've seen and they were surprised that a beginner could have such good form. Idk where I'd be without the internet and athlean-x. So thanks Jeff, appreciate all the advice.

Just because you find one great mentor does not mean you shut yourself off to all other channels. You continue to pick and choose wisely, you continue to diversify, you continue to learn. Hello Jeff, I have been following you for the past year, with your help, expertise and incredible workout insight you have truly help me transformed my body, loosing over 40 lbs while adding muscle at 64 years young, yes 64. Also went from a size 40 to 36 pants. So I am contacting you for some advice, just a week ago while lifting an air conditioner I felt a click on my left knee, just had an X Ray and mri performed, which showed a small meniscus lateral tear. I was told since it is small the best solution is to go in and file down the tear but I will to rest for about three weeks. The other option since I never had swelling nor do I feel pain is to leave it alone and try physical therapy. Not sure which route to go, would appreciate your honest professional opinion. Sadly I will put my workouts to a stop until i decide. Again, thanks for putting science back into workout, great videos I am sure have helped millions. All the best, James.

      I had the same problem because I learned you cannot let your toes pass your knees when you squat which is wrong and made me bend over too much, I now do ankle mobility exercises before squats because my ankle mobility is very bad and let my knees pass my toes a little which keeps my torso more upright and I haven’t had knee pain since. Not saying you got the same issue but it might help you figure out the problem

    After filming myself I realized I had the forward leaning problem on the upward movement part of the squat. I had two problems with my form: 1. I was positioning the bar too far to the back (see Problem #1 in this video), something that's called low bar squat. 2. I was not aligning my pelvis with my torso (butt was out) before starting the downward movement. Adjusting the bar to be at the "high bar" position and bringing my pelvis in fixed my squat form. Thanks AthleanX and Alan Thrall for the great videos.

      I would love to win an opportunity to be in your program. Idk how much they cost to have someone with your knowledge train me but I have been staying away from drugs working out an going to the oil field. I watch lots of videos, you are very inspiring an I'm thankful to have learned alot . I changed alot of my workouts because of your teachings to prevent Injury an to work my muscles more efficiently.

    Guys and gals, I've been squatting and powerlifting for 30 years. Recently, I've gone to UA-cam and all I see is these steroided up mass monsters that tell u how to train. For the natural lifter PLEASE avoid these guys. This is one of the most concise and intelligent conversation I've seen on the web. This natural dude knows of what he speaks. And if I had him training me I would have eclipsed a 600lb squat. All the problems he spoke of I had, and it took me forever to fiqure it out on my own. Great training video

    Hello Jeff!
    Thank you for your great content!
    I have a question about this video; not on the Squat, but rather on how you're doing Face Pulls.
    In another video, you're explaining how the wrists wins the race over elbows when travelling backwards in Face Pulls. However, that's not what I'm seeing here.
    Wanted to know more about the differences between the two forms!
    Thank you in advance, and I appreciate your work.

    • @Alpha-wz2qu
      @Alpha-wz2qu 5 років тому +1

      Right? I was thinking exactly that too. He said your elbows should never beat the wrists to the end but he seems to be doing that in this video

    • @MightyAntelope
      @MightyAntelope 4 роки тому

      I believe it’s because the purpose of facepulls here instead of say other videos is that this is for the stability and strength of the lower traps in order to hold the weight on the back well, in contrast to normally beating the elbows with the wrist as that is more mechanically targeting the rotator cuff which is structurally weak with the large proportion of people and useful for most upperbody push movements, hope this helped at all

      Dont make your own programme, follow something already done 1000 times. Look up PPL, SS 5x5, Candito, or something similar. If you’re a novice, run novice programmes for 8-12 months till you see linear gains then move to an intermediate programme. Happy lifting
