Idk where I'd be without the internet and athlean-x. So thanks Jeff, appreciate all the advice.

Hello Jeff, I have been following you for the past year, with your help, expertise and incredible workout insight you have truly help me transformed my body, loosing over 40 lbs while adding muscle at 64 years young, yes 64. Also went from a size 40 to 36 pants. So I am contacting you for some advice, just a week ago while lifting an air conditioner I felt a click on my left knee, just had an X Ray and mri performed, which showed a small meniscus lateral tear. I was told since it is small the best solution is to go in and file down the tear but I will to rest for about three weeks. Jeff, Your Ankle mobility series has really helped me a lot. I have been in chronic pain for nearly a year. I was a student with no healthcare benefits to go to a physical therapist. Just watching your videos and repeating it consecutively for nearly a month helped me recover from ankle pain. You and your informative videos have been a blessing. Thank you. Keep doing what you do.
Dude! Your ability to explain this stuff clearly is awesome and extremely useful. I find myself watching these videos in my spare time just to be reminded of the nuances that lead to excellent workouts. I’m a beginner at only 145 pounds, but the amount of strength gains I’ve been able to make has been incredible since I’ve started following your videos. Quality over quantity, and your videos are amazing in both regards. Thanks for all the help!
One of my favorite correction videos you’ve ever done. I’m so guilty of this! I never even considered my scapular contraction. I do pause reps because it makes me more cognizant of keeping my hips tight to avoid knee valgus. Thanks, Jeff!

Thank you for making this Channel and these videos. I was in a bad motorcycle accident and dislocated my right shoulder and had my right foot twisted off at the ankle and surgically reattached. I was lucky enough not to have any metal hardware. I've made more progress over the past 6 months than I have the past 6 years.
After filming myself I realized I had the forward leaning problem on the upward movement part of the squat. I had two problems with my form: 1. I was positioning the bar too far to the back (see Problem #1 in this video), something that's called low bar squat. 2. I was not aligning my pelvis with my torso (butt was out) before starting the downward movement. Adjusting the bar to be at the "high bar" position and bringing my pelvis in fixed my squat form. Thanks AthleanX and Alan Thrall for the great videos.

Guys and gals, I've been squatting and powerlifting for 30 years. Recently, I've gone to UA-cam and all I see is these steroided up mass monsters that tell u how to train. For the natural lifter PLEASE avoid these guys. This is one of the most concise and intelligent conversation I've seen on the web. This natural dude knows of what he speaks. And if I had him training me I would have eclipsed a 600lb squat. All the problems he spoke of I had, and it took me forever to fiqure it out on my own. Great training video
Hello Jeff! Thank you for your great content! I have a question about this video; not on the Squat, but rather on how you're doing Face Pulls. In another video, you're explaining how the wrists wins the race over elbows when travelling backwards in Face Pulls. However, that's not what I'm seeing here. Wanted to know more about the differences between the two forms! Thank you in advance, and I appreciate your work.
I believe it’s because the purpose of facepulls here instead of say other videos is that this is for the stability and strength of the lower traps in order to hold the weight on the back well, in contrast to normally beating the elbows with the wrist as that is more mechanically targeting the rotator cuff which is structurally weak with the large proportion of people and useful for most upperbody push movements, hope this helped at all
what’s been working for me is dropping all the weight and 5lbs every 2-3 weeks. it’s annoying but it’s the only way i can maintain form while adding weight
This fella knows his stuff! Only thing he forgot to mention in this clip is bearhug squats with a sandbag. A great auxillerie exercise to go with regular squats if you are having problems keeping your back straight. It's very hard to do bear hug sandbag squats with a rounded back!
Good video, I always try and squat in front of a mirror in the gym I go to. I usually do 60 Kg squats and nothing heavier. If I’m not doing it straight I might stop doing squats, the face pulls are a great idea.
Dont make your own programme, follow something already done 1000 times. Look up PPL, SS 5x5, Candito, or something similar. If you’re a novice, run novice programmes for 8-12 months till you see linear gains then move to an intermediate programme. Happy lifting
Manik Siroha Which is fixed with adding more weight. Unless you want to swap up excercises to target different parts of a muscle. Imo, always keep the compounds.

No more diets but a massive overhaul of how and what I eat, I joined the gym and as a beginner your videos have been a godsend for me. And if I had him training me I would have eclipsed a 600lb squat. All the problems he spoke of I had, and it took me forever to fiqure it out on my own. Great training video
Could you maybe do a Squat Checklist/Do This?
Right? I was thinking exactly that too. He said your elbows should never beat the wrists to the end but he seems to be doing that in this video
I believe it’s because the purpose of facepulls here instead of say other videos is that this is for the stability and strength of the lower traps in order to hold the weight on the back well, in contrast to normally beating the elbows with the wrist as that is more mechanically targeting the rotator cuff which is structurally weak with the large proportion of people and useful for most upperbody push movements, hope this helped at all
Jeff I love you. Moving the pelvis and chest as one is a whole new beautiful world of functionality. Thanks bro!
Thanks for the free (true) professional advice.
I'm a physicist trying to get fit and I absolute love your videos. Lots of love from Colombia.
I got the habit of filming my bigger lifts a fe months ago and really helped me. Including the problem shown in this video
I know for a fact I'm doing exactly this type of squat error. I'm trying to fix it, I think my body just wants to move that way.
what’s been working for me is dropping all the weight and 5lbs every 2-3 weeks. it’s annoying but it’s the only way i can maintain form while adding weight
Mark rippetoe says the squat is primarily a hip movement. Whom to believe?
Salim Definitely Jeff Cavalerie
@@stenstensson304 I do personally tend to be more inclined towards Jeff's advice than Mark Rippetoe's.
How often should i change workout routines / exercises? For example is it okay to always do a certain exercise for the chest.
Dont make your own programme, follow something already done 1000 times. Look up PPL, SS 5x5, Candito, or something similar. If you’re a novice, run novice programmes for 8-12 months till you see linear gains then move to an intermediate programme. Happy lifting
You do not change your training but you develop it further. Unless your training goals have changed
Vikas Kumar
I made my own workout routine and am doing great. It's actually pretty easy to do.
One good way to know it's the time to change it is when you stop seeing gains from the workout.
Manik Siroha
Which is fixed with adding more weight. Unless you want to swap up excercises to target different parts of a muscle.
Imo, always keep the compounds.
Best trainer on earth💪
what about knee weakness? feeling pain in knees while squating or lunging or leg press? is there a solution? @Athlean-X
Knee wraps
Just changed my squat game with one video after watching so many for so long for what was wrong. Now I have 3 solutions to try.
every since joining the Army I have found a huge desire for improving my physical health. I want to look like you one day Jeff! love this channel.
When I squat, I feel no tension in my quads at all, I only feel the tension in my glutes.
Please someone help me before I injure myself!
Thats just good. No reason to feel scared.
Pause at bottom
I feel it in my lower back even though I’m doing it right probably because I’m on a SM Smith machine
New conspiracy: Jeff uses time travel.
He has not aged in 10 years
And come on, who has proof that he has parents in the 21st century?

Monju Inc.
It's called prescribed testosterone.
MG G. I wasn't aware testosterone gave men a more youthful look. Always hear the opposite actually...
Jeff you are always the best
Years have passed, I still can't believe this is free. Need to get a shirt merch or something.
This finally helped me solve my squat problem! Literally saved me
Has Jeff ever talked about knees over toes while squatting?
Probably, but keeping knees behind toes is a myth and most people need knees over toes to squat effectively
when he said scapula i knew he was going to bring up face pulls
Can we get a single video reviewing all the glute/hip exercises to replace the hip abduction/adduction machine?
romanian deadlifts and stiff legged deadlifts, glute ham raises, for the win
Thank you for the videos they have been a lifeline for me. After years of yo yo diets and being very miserable about my weight I decided to make big changes. No more diets but a massive overhaul of how and what I eat, I joined the gym and as a beginner your videos have been a godsend for me. So seven weeks on and I’m 20 pounds lighter and my body is actually changing shape which is amazing. So thank you for the videos.
Satisfaction when video has a click bait title but contains good information and I learn something new.
OMG! I JUST SQUATTED TODAY, YOU LEGEND, OMG READ MY MIND BROOOOO. I ONLY SQAUT 6 TIMES A WEEK AS WELL, YOU LITERAL PSYCHIC/GOD. OMG. OMG. OMG.

Jeff you’re the best! Thank you for all the positive vibe and great advices you give
I just filmed myself and holy shit you're right the bars moving in a curvy path, no straight up and down movement. I was wondering why my lower back was aching. Jeff you're a live saver!
