Awesome job!! I like the fact you used regular lures with hooks for casting distance tests.I wish you would do more of that. For example for lighter lures use a unweighted texas rigged zoom trick worm with a size 1 or 1/0 hook.
Alot better sound on the scrops. Were you using a mono backing? Gives the braid something to dig into so it's not spinning itself on the spool whilist the spools in standby.
I had a feeling mine wasn’t casting as far as my 17 scorpion. I just swapped the 21 onto the same rod throwing the same lure and it definitely felt like it wasn’t going nearly as far. The 17 was bombing almost all the line off the spool. I was honestly afraid I’d hook up on the end of a long cast and get spooled. The retrieve on the 21 is smooth as butter and the xg was really burning the bait in though. I’m glad to have both
I prefer the scorpion DC's better contoured and ergonomic feel with the adjustment dial at the bottom. Feels smaller and more comfortable to palm. I had issues with the curado DC where a loop of line will get caught in behind the side of the thumb bar, during a cast and it's near impossible to get it out without cutting it. It's a show stopper when it happens, because it's typically near the end of the cast, and you lose too much line. I returned it, they adjusted it but it happened again. I finally took the reel completely apart to remove the thumb bar, and carefully bent it out with a little heat, to improve the tolerance and it hasn't happed since, (fingers crossed).
I have the Curado DC, SLX DC, and the Scorpion DC and what I interested is casting in the wind. I heard by several you tubers saying the IDC 4 braking does not perform well in downwind casts and the Scorpion with the IDC 5 braking it doesn’t matter headwind or downwind it is managed by the Scorpion. What have you found about this issue? ❤🎉 💯

Maybe I am wrong, excuse me if I am, but shorter rods (under 7’) are going to give you a shorter cast. Have you thought about using a longer rod? I wonder if your results would be different with both reels. Thanks for the great videos!
I have a question and I need to understand what I'm doing wrong. I just bought a Shimano Curado DC 150 hg. The problem I'm having is the capacity of braid line on the Curado DC spool. I'm using Kastking - Braided Line -- 30 lb. 327 yds. The reel specs calls for 30/150 or 450 LF of Power Pro. With the braid I'm using, the spool fills up with about 27 yds or 81 ft or less. ft. Is there a difference between the Power Pro Braid vs. the Kastking Braid.
After i got my exsence back, i tried casting a 1/2oz lipless crankbait and realized it IS definitely overbraked. I never had any issues with birdsnest (except the once when i hit a tree on the backcast) But i did end up catching my PB...so there's that....
What about the scorpion do you prefer over the curado? I have a slx dc and looking to buy a new dc reel and I just CANNOT DECIDE between the new scorpion or curado dc. So hard!!

watch my Scorpion MGL video for the differences between it and the Curado K
Maybe some of you need to cast that far? You don't need to cast that far when you are in a boat.
Curado DC is built like a tank tho ... I’m sure the scorpion will win this head to head comp but I’ll still take the Curado
They have the same frame
What is IDC-5?
@@pheakdeysour9581 anglers can toggle between 5 brake levels and 3 different modes to set the appropriate brake force
Im not a fan of the curado I love the scorpions. Let it be known from every balcony and bell tower
I'll keep my scorpion DC 17
Get both, they do different things... but both are great. Make me question my metanium dc everytime I use it
I use my scorpion DC 17 for every app. It works if you apply it.
I’ll keep my scorpion dc 11
Get rid of that hunk a junk
@@rancewarschak6304 I could afford any real, but in my opinion the scorpion dc 17 is all I need for an all around need. I even caught mackerels, all type of basses to legal size halibuts if not bigger off the pier and rocks with drop shot and swimbaits. If you’re going for a monster I’ll just switch to the Tranx.
What's with all the noise abd sped up video.? Bye.
too much braid on the Scorpion spool
Forget all that give us your bfs curado vid
going up tommorrow
in my opinion, scorpion dc 2021 with MGL spool isnt for long casting but it more to cast light lures (between 6grams - 10grams). MGL spool / SV for daiwa is a step below to bfs category.
It can be use for long casting especially the mgl spool because all what it does is decrease weight. The metanium 2020 B mgl spool long cast like a dream. SV on other hand is like u said. They focus on excessive braking to prevent back lash which is good for light lures.
Rugi la mahal2 tapi tak boleh cast jauh even dah masuk mgl spool.
@@penangboyz96 tula..mgl spool bkn utk long cast..mat salleh ni mana tau apa2..dorg pikir makin mahal reel makin blh cast jauh...mgl spool utk gewang ringan je..
@@zajdabneeg high end reel like metanium is built different. if they have the same mgl spool why scorpion unable to cast farther. reduce weight of the spool only benefit in terms of ease of cast and it is not for distance.
@@kushairiroslei dya ni tau apa, cuma tau review ja.mcm review reel exsence dc tula, aku tngk lebih kepada paid review braided.huhu
Lpas tu nk compare reel dengan reel lain.nk compare tak salah tp bg fair.meluat plak aku tngk dya ni.
