You can tell they enjoyed those meal worms! Loved their cute little happy, contented chirps! Thank you so much for posting!
Thank you for linking to this from your Craigslist ad. Super relevant for me as an Arizonan looking into quail.
This was a nice shirt video 😊
You have some great ideas thanks for the video
Thank you, this is a great video with lots of information. In the container is that dirt from the ground? I have been buying play sand and they are going through a ton of it.
You are welcome! Yes, I collected plain old dirt and sifted out all of the larger rocks and dirt clods with a fairly large strainer.
hi... in this season i have 3 issues... they are likely to fly and hit their heads, some get killed and some grow a bump how to avoid this?... they get a kind of fluid bag around their nose, antibiotics dont work... they most of the time get better in a week, what causes this?... their beaks grow a lot, some get problems to eat and i have to clip them... i added some stones to their place and they somehow manage to cut it down themselves... but is not enough, what could i do?
I'll answer as best as I can!
Keeping a low cage will help keep them from trying to fly unless you keep them in a coop.
I'm not familiar with what causes that fluid, so you may want to consult a veterinarian.
If the rocks you placed with them have sharp edges, you'll want to swap them out for ones with smooth edges. Personally, i have a plastic tub with dirt in with them, as shown in the video, and i haven't seen any beak issues yet.
Good luck!
@@CopperStateOutdoors thanks... yes is a coop, i had chickens in it before... the vet said it was because of the hot weather... and about the rocks, no sharp edges.
Then you'll probably want to put them in smaller cages around 16 inches or less in height. You may need to check the cage for any sharp objects maybe even loose chicken wire
