Just watched it and wooowww..was not expecting so many layers to this. I found it interesting that she kept her thoughts to herself, not bring honest about her feelings. He was the opposite-no filter, his likes drove their date. His awful texts were unhinged, but exactly what he was feeling and he gave no pause on saying it. She was worried to say she anything she was feeling. At the end-- the texts he read from her were a completely different person than when they were face to face.

Great analysis and review, i just watched this movie recently and it stuck with me for days. As a female, i felt frustrated of the female protagonist (or antagonist?) for just not expressing herself properly but i also saw the heavy people-pleasing element. In the end, there's no nice way to let a person know youre not interested anymore, im sure we've been on both sides of issue. I almost felt guilty for feeling bad for the guy, he pleads a good case for why he's the victim in all this. I felt like i should have been siding with her but like you said it best, they weren't doing anything inherently evil, just lame dumb shit, which we're all guilty of.
Overall, this film made me grateful i dont have to date anymore (having found my forever person) especially in this age of text messaging where a lot gets miscommunicated. We've seen the horrors of online dating (I like how the guy in the movie pointed out that he hated it, probably speaks on how a lot of people feel today) and its hard to meet new people unless youre a social person. So yeah it was super creepy that he followed her but it seemed flattering too??? Ahh i feel terrible for thinking that lol i gonna enjory telling people about this movie.
BTW why do you think this movie is called "Cat Person"??

I went into this movie blind. So, I honestly thought this would be a movie about a woman falling in love with a human, cat hybrid. I know, it’s dumb. But, that’s what I thought. I was not expecting everything that I got. Honestly, for the first half of the movie… I thought I was mistaken and this wasn’t a horror movie. Then it all went to shit.
It was a good movie. I know it came out last year or something. But, I would say it’s one of my top movies that I watched this year so far.
