Lovely job, good to see someone who knows how to set out properly, outside wall parallel to the house and the two sides squared back to the house, any youngsters watching should learn a lot. Always a good feeling to get out of the ground.

I would’ve tied in below dpc if it’s more than 225 from footing, but without bridging the damp with the tie…either way it’s not going anywhere but the wall starter can act as a profile so you can tap your pin in to the line of fire 🔥 so it keeps the ott inspectors happy and slightly easier life 🙌🏼 great video for me to watch while sat in the van 🌧️ very informative

I always like to use trench blocks as the first course around, I find them easier for setting out and if your footings are a little bit low then you can bed them up without them sinking and you don't run the risk of kicking over the internal blocks. I do realise that they are costly but they do save time.

Was there enough space to use a trench block? Foundation setting out doesn't look right as others have said, your brickwork is on it but only just. Do you put profile boards up after setting out the bwk to get correct position of foundation?

Keeping in mind that the bricks was on my account I had a experienced bricklayer an two labourers as well I couldn’t take the hit however I was informed that they will keep the bricks an I pay for them or I would have to take them down an lose anyway.Lessson work an get paid in stages I later found out the family was quite large an this was how they were making equity in their houses
