I'm a cable technician in Portland so these videos are helpful. Man you're better than me checking the tap at everybody. I only check the tap if it's underground or if I don't get a signal at the ground block. I try to keep the ladder use to a minimum lmao. Respect bro. You have a new suscriber for sure.
I'm glad I found this channel. I'm new in this line of work and this really puts bits and pieces of what I've learned all together in the field. Thank you, Sir!
Just wanted to take a second to let you know that these videos people appreciate I just started becoming a cable technician this past week with all my training online and I’m about to start in the field soon I really appreciate being able to see what it’s going to be like a little bit from your videos please continue to post more
Good to see you back on. I couldn't wait to watch your new video. I had a long day in the field today. I had two jobs back to back when two older people have outlets that had multiple splitters back back! I hate when customers hide out the splitters and I can't get to it. I try to educate them the best I can about why it's a bad idea to run too many splitters behind each other. Both homes took me two hours plus to complete the job. People will put dry walls over bad splitters but yet they refuse to understand how important it is for me to get to the splitters and customers is stressing the importance of getting their tv's to work. I'm like work with me here! Modulation signals is not magic here. One lady ask me, do she have too many outlets? I told her, it's not that you have too many outlets, it's how they are connected. We have 8-way splitters and premise amps but when you split along the way to the wall plate there goes your signal. Some jobs can really cost you.
Im a Cox tech and that mini box we call it a 6801 or a 6803 it just depends on if the box is a receiver with a host(in that case itll be a 6801) or if its a Stand Alone Box where it is its own host(then itll be a 6803)
Where I work that box you said at the end of the video we call EOL “end of life” no customer should have one because of the problems it causes. That’s why they came out with XiD’s to replace them. Btw I work in Florida love the videos👍🏻
It's hard to know whether you should be passionate about this line of work or just use it as stepping to something else. Because I'm training right now with Cox Communications and I really don't wanna do this forever. I'm trying to get into IT/computer science. Before this I was working a factory job making $16/hr M-F with Saturday open for overtime and it drained my soul. But if I can learn and see the experience of someone such as you then at least I know what to expect.
Hi everyone . please what measures guarantee the BLE and MB amplifiers. Input level and output levels. return levels. ??? Thank you . what channels are the pilots for the balance ??...
I'm no cable installer, but I do think that a drop going to a splitter, then jumpered to another splitter and going three or four ways has to cause a huge amount of loss. Why not have the drop going to one, main (maybe amplified) splitter with individual taps home run from each cable appearance in the building?
That MoCA Filter only has range of 300ft up and back, also some MDU’s will have a split past the lock box, QC will tell you to MoCA at tap, but I’d also recommend the 70htz at the POE to guard against any MoCA failures.
The cable company i work for has old mini boxes similar to that legacy box in the wild still. I just rip em out and just upgrade them... If they been with us THAT long, they deserve it. F working on those!
i'm glad that I quit working for spectrum I hated those damn boxes at least I still got the master keys to them things though and all the tools I never get back so I've gotten sets of keys along with the tools so I'm good and I'm glad that I can help other people out even though I don't work for them anymore but so what what nobody knows won't hurt them basically don't ask don't tell‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
@@Biddybalboa yea I have accepted a job offer with spectrum with a starting date, but I’m also waitron my medical review with the TSA. Spectrum pays more, but with TSA I can use my time in the marine corps towards retirement. Don’t know which one I’ll stick with. Most likely spectrum though.
@@Biddybalboa let me know how it goes. I’m pretty sure I’ll just work for them. I’m interested in how the training goes, and when they give us our vehicle
I never seem to have time to make videos like this. Yeah them legacies don't hit right anymore. I would have assumed it's the television, and tried another television to be sure the customer not stealing my money. 🤷🏾♂️
This is your boss. I want you ripping all the lines at the mdu for noise! Get it done ! Plus your not doing enough jobs! The ask is to stay out until 12 midnight and sleep in your van.
The only thing is missing on these videos is after easy installs is sitting in the truck in front of a customers house for two hours afterwards. Beat the system
I hate them because half the time I get it up I have to send a hit and activation signal to it because it'll keep cycling through channel 1-10 and none higher.
Bro where are all your tools at? You got the cleanest truck in the world. Rain jackets up front, drop in the back.... Where's all the tools? You got me wondering if your cable company is promoting your videos for good press.
Yeah I did but everbody was missing the videos so I decided to go to a new office with better pay to keep the channel running for you guys now I’m getting better pay than the last company 💪🏾💪🏾

Thank god for you man! My trainer don’t really speak English and they want me on my own next week. Your vidoes saved my life!

I worked for Comcast 8 years ago. Then I got into DirecTV and never left. Great videos bro. Keep em coming
Man you’re so positive. I worked for AT&T and absolutely hated it with a passion. Respect

Love the content man i arched til episode six today then it skip me to 10 so here I am really appreciate this heads up into the field brother!
11:28 Speaking legacy boxes.. My area still uses old Motorola boxes from 2008 LOL

Yeah bro situations like that sucks man ran into those to many times lol but hey it is what it is I guess

Show a video on a fibre install. I’m a technician for Bell and really enjoy your vids

What is considered legacy box? I had a box that looked different then that one that said Motorola on it for years until I left them when we moved.
Why climb every time, do you have to take a tap reading at every job at Concast
That MoCA Filter only has range of 300ft up and back, also some MDU’s will have a split past the lock box, QC will tell you to MoCA at tap, but I’d also recommend the 70htz at the POE to guard against any MoCA failures.
That is true no telling what’s between the tap and Poe in apartments 🤔👍🏾
What up cabletech23, you work in an area with seasons so why you aren’t installing house boxes to protect those fittings?
Yeah my trainer's most hated box is TiVo.
The cable company i work for has old mini boxes similar to that legacy box in the wild still. I just rip em out and just upgrade them... If they been with us THAT long, they deserve it. F working on those!
Hey why not put those outlets into an enclosure? Isn't it bad to have the connectors exposed to the elements?
What kind of toners do you use?

Is this a difficult job? I start with spectrum in Milwaukee in august
I got hire/ in the final stages with tsa, but I have a start date with spectrum

Ay My brother..you have house boxes yet I never seen you install one lol...that is a QC fail 😅
Not a fail for me every region is different... house boxes are not require where I am😂😂😂
I don't install them either hahaha
I always get the mdu drop that isn't labeled
That’s painful man but I know that pain 😂 hate when that happens

The only thing is missing on these videos is after easy installs is sitting in the truck in front of a customers house for two hours afterwards. Beat the system
Bust out a tablet and watch videos or a switch and just play games.
You need to be showing the full process. "customer privacy" please... You are there and need to do what you need to do. Which includes making videos.
How many jobs a day do you have to do?
You had an hour between your next job , do you get paid for that hour still or are you only paid while at a job?
Fully paid. Comcast isn’t a bad spot to work
I hate them because half the time I get it up I have to send a hit and activation signal to it because it'll keep cycling through channel 1-10 and none higher.
Yep that part is the worst you take more time trying to activate these boxes than installing and troubleshooting them it’s crazy 😂
dude I hate those xg2s, it's a 50/50 with then sometimes they take like 30 mins to come up.
Xg1s are whack. XG2s aren't that bad.

That second job you ground it to another ground . Your supposed to ground to power smh
Side note that dryer vent is BS
Boy I hated contractors
Don't you climb cars in the way shouldn't stop you from climbing
I wish I could send you a text as a remote text brother!
I thought you quit comcast because they demoted you for stupid reasons?
