I worked for Dish network in NH/VT for about a year. Took down lots of DirecTv dishes. You did a better job than 90% of installers. Fun job, gets a little cold in the winter. Also the full ladder inspection was HILARIOUS. In reality, everyone just rips the ladder off the truck and wails it up.

@@BonjoHolixI was miserable working this job. I could go all day about it. It's ok as a temporary job to get you in the workforce and some experience on your resume, but as a career, I can't recommend it

@@straighttalent5657 During the interview I found out it’s “contract pay”, that COMPLETELY turned me off. I recently got hired at Vivint Home security
Vivint start me @$27/hr and I have no experience/degrees/certification/special licensing. Overtime is uncapped meaning If I only wanna work the set 40hrs a week I can, Or I can work 60 hours if I want to. They have ALL the benefits and have won awards for being a great company to work for. It’s also of course still a “technician” position which I have experience doing and I love being a tech in my own work vehicle doing my own thing. I would HIGHLY recommend looking into getting a job at Vivint. It’s not east to get hired but they pay the most I’ve seen for an entry level position

I work as a satellite installation technician here in my country, Egyptfor 20 years.😊
I love this profession and enjoy it, but I am looking for a company that will send me an employment contract and a flight ticket and provide me with housing and a salary😅😅
To make a new start in my life. I hope to travel to be an active worker in this field and go on an enjoyable work trip. With a skilled person like this man, I can learn a lot and gain skills, and I don't mind making him a cup of tea while working
Do you have companies that employ workers in this field and train us on how to work?😅😇

I just seen this job on indeed and it’s definitely something new. I’m a hands on guy so I’ll like it. Once I get the hang of it. I know I’ll thrive. I just wanna know how can you tell it’ll be a good mounting area and if the signal is strong. Can’t wait to learn the trades and etc from this job.

Do not do it man, trust me. There’s some shitty reviews on there already but I ignored them and gave them a chance. Worked a 20 hour shift on my 2nd week of training

I worked for Mastec from 2013 to 2018. Technicians use a tool call an inclinometer. This tool is used to find a clear line of sight to install dish and ensure the customer has the best signal possible.
When installing on a roof find the best location to install the dish. How this can be done is balling your hand up into a fist, and bang around on the roof to find a stud. If the roof is damaged don’t install the dish on it. Let the customer know, your FTS, and note the account.

I'm kinda curious as to where that Green ground wire is going? I hope it's connected to the house bond or possibly a metal water pipe coming to the house. HMMMM

So, wait, all you had to do was build, mount, point and peak the dish, and run the coaxial cable from the dish into a grounding block? You didn't have to install any new recievers?

Right I had to drive all over texas with no extra pay. I got tired of that real quick. Plus they didn't even train me properly. I was confused half the time. With no hands on until I hit the field.
