Yep. Al Golden was changing looks and moving guys at multiple levels pre-snap, constantly. I don't think he knew what he was looking at very often, and then pressure was coming from lots of different sources.
I’m not gonna go out on a limit and say Indiana didn’t belong. I think people need to give credit where credit is due because Notre Dame is a good team.
Feels a lot to me like Jake Fromm getting his first start at Notre Dame and Georgia pulling out the w. Except this time Gunner has been with the team for damn near 2.5 years
Regarding ND/UGA, I had an interesting thought about Gunner yesterday. I think it could be an advantage because there is so little tape on him. If it was Beck, ND would have hours and hours of film to review. Not with Gunner. UGA might be able to roll out a new playbook
Buddy, get some hand warmers for the Ohio state game tonight. I’m outside all the time when it’s 10 degrees or colder and never get cold. You just have to not be an idiot and dress properly. Lol
To say that Indiana "didnt belong" is to basically say that the playoff shoupd have only been expanded to 6 teams (at most). Alabama, SC, Ole Miss ALL lost three games with some of their losses being really bad. The committee HAS to tiptoe around both the B1G & SEC and in reality the only people making racket about Indiana not deserving a spot are Tide fans and a few SC and Ole Miss fans...dont lose to Vandy, Kentucky, OU.....
I thought the point of this whole thing was to put the BEST teams in, but we all understand the massive backlash that would occur if they actually did that. Good job Indiana and great season, but you did what everyone expected you would do in the post-season.
I think that stat showing that Freeman and Leahy’s wins vs Top 10 teams underscores just how good ND was for a decade before Freeman and Leahy took over as opposed to Joe bad ND was before Rockne and Kelly were. Without that foundation you’re not competing with those type of teams.
Not a Indiana fan but the hate is very loud for a 1 loss team that lost to Ohio State. outside of that they took care of what there schedule was. You want a Alabama team that lost to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt in a more embarrassing fashion in over Indiana... Ole Miss lost to Kentucky and Florida not bad games but those are not Ohio State's all due respect... Miami had the opportunity to be in undeniably and choked so that shouldn't even be a conversation...
Neutral to both of these teams as far as being a fan is concerned but i think indiana had a historic run this season and the product they made this year shows a really nice proof of concept. When they load up the NIL fund, they can get a good crop of blue chip recruits and I imagine they'll be super well developed by Curt. But i agree in that you can only turn a program around so much in one year, and i think indiana just needs more time to build a real football identity. They were undoubtedly the biggest surprise of the season and yes, we saw many areas for improvement but nothing that couldnt be fixed with the passage of time. If you lose it doesnt mean you dont belong in the cfp, like andy and ari said you have to see who can win in a head to head and thats the whole point here. Congrats to notre dame ofc but well done hoosiers cant wait to see what you do next year
