That aria like a just one piece of sparkling diamond in the middle of the huge necklace… ofcourse these themes and emotions are usual for Puccini like the other operas of him… It’s time to wipe away my tears now…
This opera should have been called « Liu » if Puccini could have time to choose the name The cruel Turandot doesn’t deserve at all the name of this opera I am convinced 100% about that !!!!!

Don't know nothing about the soprano singing the blood thirsty Chinese princess, but to this writer, she isn't up to the taxing demand of the role, not even close.

Hubby and I saw this at a local movie theater and we both just loved Anita Hartig's stunning voice. Hers was our favorite role.
