It was a show of contradictions. Aimed at a younger audience but scattered with adult innuendo, self indulgent but gave us what we wanted and to be honest a bit crap but inexplicably very good. They don't make them like this anymore.
🙄 Don’t try to be a smart arse, my comment was a reply to the sub post about innuendo on the show from novelty8theroy494 hence this little section of replies to said post.
Pinch an inch was considered "fat" in the 90s. But since the shows old sponsors, which begins with a golden "M", got into bed with the UK Government? Since the early 2000s the allowance on bodyfat percentage was increased as too was recategorising clothing sizes. A medium or large is now small, extra small etc etc for people whom aren't obese.
This always sticks out in my mind as one of the best final episodes of a show, its nostalgic, funny but still looks inward and offers you to do so as well
I played Dominik Diamond at street fighter 2 down the strathclyde retail park back in the day and he used the Blanka cheat. Done me like a kipper and he knows it. i was Dhalsim as a wee guy
I was still in single digits when this show aired on TV in the 90’s so before checking UA-cam for this, I couldn’t remember much. But all of it is coming back to me now and just makes me hate being a grown up now in my 30’s haha. I actually wish I could go back to the 90’s but view it as an adult and see some of the world as it was back then. Not just the UK but go to Japan in the 90’s, the home of video games and anime and compare it to now. Dominik Diamond got to visit Japan in the 90’s and that must have been such a cool experience man! Any other millennials here having flashbacks right about now? Haha.
I really enjoyed that. Always thought Dominik was a great presenter too. He was engaging, witty and made it look easy. It's a pity he seemed to disappear after Gamesmaster
@@ianbarrett4166 Episodes 2 and 3 were pretty good even though the games featured weren't my thing but episode 1 of the new Gamesmaster should be avoided as it was lefty woke central and probably put a lot of people off from watching the other episodes.

with games as big as they are today, I'm surprised there is not a bad influence or games master. Back in the day these shows before the internet was where you got a lot of info from.
It's because of the downfall of television broadcasting and how there's a whole generation around now that don't even watch television as everything is done on phones and computer screens. TV broadcasters won't take risks. Even back in the day shows about games went exactly ten a penny. There was around half a dozen of them throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. I remember this episode when it aired. This was the peak of lads mags culture and Dominic Diamond passively flirting with models was a hero.
