Shawn Colvin, I am not a perfect poerson at this but... let me say... thank you... During my teen years I listened to you and it helped me through some dark times... Since then I have donated plasma and blood and d9one everything I can. Served in the army. Thank you for all you do... I won't forget it.
If for no other reason, I love that quarantine made one of my favorite artists' live performances accessible to me. I will forever sing Sunny Came Home loudly in whatever random place I hear it lol Trouble!!! My favorite.
Jesus, how much do I love and this woman! Those effing songs resonate with me since the beginning right ti the end! If she’s playing The City Winery this year, I’m over that Atlantic to see her! Wow! Genius!
The beauty of Shawn's singing and playing aside, was there ANY doubt that the dark-haired beauty in the very beginning was her daughter?! A look-alike!
Shawn . Very sorry I did not attend guitar Donation Ceremony in Vermillion , Thanks for letting me have photos taken with you . Way back in Minneapolis . Hope you still have Beatle card & drumsticks . You Changed my life forever . Love you > What a terrific Musician And person . Thanks again < God Bless you
Great way to pay it forward. Love to you and your daughter who is all grown now!!! Last time I saw you was the Scottish Rite Theater in Collingswood NJ and your daughter was tiny. Love you Ms. Shawn ❤️🎤🌞🎶
Déjà Siku Thanks for that.. I watched Antoine Dufour - Candyrat "To Run In A Dream" WOW it blew me away. It reminds me of Mike Dawes who I discovered a few years back he has the same effortless performance. Makes me wanna throw my wee acoustic in the bin 😂
Wow, first Mary Chapin then you.. Incredible. Two of my favorite musicians live from home. I am so delighted to listen to your songs. You made my day! Greetings from Germany
man... seriously... Sunny came home is just a genius written song. the strumming pattern, the unique chord progressions, the catchy hook of the transfer into the chorus.... and def the lyrics and the meaning behind it!!!
Dearest Shawn - you sound so great in this relaxed setting. Few artists could do this so well. We will see you tomorrow evening in Grass Valley! So looking forward to it! Kevin and Jeanne
Wow Shawn, you look and sound wonderful!! Hope you are doing well and hope that doing these shows was a balm for your soul---I just found these and they are definitely still a balm for mine! NICE guitar collection!!
I was just thinking of your song Polaroids and I thought I’d listen to it UA-cam and found this. Thank you so much for this and super sweet that your daughter helped. Love to both you two ❤️
LoveLoveLove your voice and musical style, but mostly the way your heart speaks to our common struggles and joys. Thank you, Shawn, for knowing the right words and notes to help me heal.
when this song hit in 1997-98 I was forty yrs old and felt bad because as high as this song made me fell I was 40 yrs old and considered too old to find a girlfriend I did not have any money to spend spend spend which the women of long island expected I was just a poor social worker with a good heart which was not enough to attract a good woman i know I know you will say I simply did not look in the right places the fact i I am /was a product of the 1960's being anti materialistic and in 1997-8 there was no one who held that belief system so now here i am in 202 and I am 66 and sadly the same problem exists no money
One of my very favorite singer/songwriters. Shawn's music is always so profound and intrinsically beautiful and deeply intimate. A fan forever, patiently waiting on your next album..
How did I miss this in April? Beautifully done. The sound quality on this is excellent. I've loved you forever Shawn. Thank you for all you do to provide support for mental illness.
I just saw listened to this, and I was moved and inspired as I have been so many times by Shawn’s myriad artistic gifts. (Although, as a musician, I know she did not just receive them wrapped up in box with a bow) I am seeing this months after it first dropped, and after hundreds of thousands of souls have been lost, and after so much economic devastation, and it moves me perhaps even more than it might have during lockdown. It reminds me we have so many great people keeping the flame alive, and supporting others even during the darkest times. For gods sake, vote, and wear a mask. Ps, hope she can do a show in Milwaukee when it’s safe!
Shawn your rendition of Viva Las Vegas is the best ever. I came across it in the movie Big Labowski which I watched many years ago and still watch a couple of times a year one of my favourite films . It was a perfect number to end the film and so beautifully sung and arranged. I never understood why it wasn't played more over here in the UK and why it wasn't included on the CD of numbers from the film. Its in my top 20 list of all time songs and although I loved Elvis you beat the pants of him with you're version of Viva las Vegas. 💖
So glad I searched your name on UA-cam. Your music has always been inspirational to me, A Few Small Repairs sits in my top 5 albums. God bless you Shaun Colvin, and all those around you
God, I LOVE you Shawn! I don't Facebook so I didn't know about this happening. Was listening to a live performance "Live, 2009" and was missing your between-song narratives that you do when live and re-tuning. I Googled it hoping to find some, and this came up. Perhaps my favorite story was one you told about Sting's comment about your re-tuning live and your response. I still laugh when I think about that one! Miss seeing you live, this was great!!! And thank you for sharing. My daughter deals with clinical depression and I know how real it is. Take care and God Bless You!
I just woke up from a dream about you, which made me check you out on UA-cam. I’ve always loved you & your openness about mental health. Depression sucks so thank you for speaking about it. Thank you more for your gift & who you are. I love you still.

Such beauty with the taste of pain in the Soul...You amazed me!
