The Albion Principe - Most Powerful Cutting Sword?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- Here is my review of the "Konami code of swords", the longsword that delivers the easiest, most impressive cuts of anything I've tried so far (as of April 2020). This thing is a beast.
Water bottles, tatami mats, particle board, thick tree branches...nothing is safe. :)

Since people keep guessing that the new favorite sword I mention is the Skallchion... Sorry to disappoint you, folks. It's still in transit, don't have it yet (as of April 11).
Its got to be the brescia spadona with the bronce fittings
Do you know what the cheapest yet strongest short-sword is?
@@Ressiedevil do you mean the one in my pants?
*Schwing*
Cant wait to see the Skallchion perform, that thing is beautiful
"This gives you a pretty agile sword"
Skall - throws out 27 strikes in less than 5 seconds to confirm.
Level 20 fighter confirmed
@Jason Berryman Tearing holes in reality shiiiiiit
The Most Powerful Cutting Sword is the Sword that can cut through Plot Armor
Which is all of them, you just need to find the author.
Chainer brilliant retort sir
Isn't the sword often the plot hole though? Lightsabers are the most obvious. Okay you can block another lightsaber you might cut through a sword but I don't know you want molten metal thrown at you. Also deflect a blaster bolt... They aren't fast, a bullet however would probably melt a little bit going through the lightsaber, but again molten metal now going over the speed of sound.
Does illustrate how good us humans are at killing though. Reality if we meet aliens is that we will be dominate in war unless they are k2 and up. Because war never changes, however it totally does only the human harm is similar sick, sad, and true.
@@BlackHeart1216 at this point I'd say the author's own printed work would be a more appropriate weapon
@Al Dente All T.P. is gone none for plot holio. Though it's actually a production issue not hoarding. Apparently the number of us that want to get paid to poo ment lots of toilet paper was used in economy style, made differently different facilities.. At least we know why home was always better. It really was softer paper!
Skall: I have a new favorite sword
*Sad knecht kriegmesser noises
Kriegmesser is still more beautiful, tbh
@@francescogulisano2917 requires more points in Dex though.
It's a katana. I'm calling it right now. Skall weeaboo confirmed.
@@gre8 that would be so ironic even Palpatine would be surprised
The Albion vs the Igorot head hunting axe.
The perfect sword for the Tatami-Waterbottle zombie apocalypse
Glad to have you on board, Garrus, you never know when the bottles might revolt. (Mass Effect 3, after a friendly shooting competition, when you lose on purpose)
I've been mowing them down, but the just keep piling up.
not really but the sword plus your arms kind of give you the social distance, just saying---
(but dont do that)
My heart hurt when you hit that beatiful piece of art into the wood. So beatiful... I'm from Romania and I will be dispose to save to buy a sword like that' but the shipment is almost half of the price ' it is not worth it to pay an aditional 50%. Not even Kult of athena it is not cheaper. Maybe in the future it will be more cheaper' but o my god' that is an excepțional sword. Keep up the good work ' your reviews are fantastic.
Make your own, the tech has been out there for thousands of years.. (looks down at my blacksmithed collection) a few knives, a bearded axe and a gladius which is the pride of my collection..
sper ca nu vrei sa o folosesti pe oameni
Can you purchase in person? After the current scare, maybe arrange a pilgrimage to New Glarus Wisconsin USA and still have money left over from your budget to have fun at nearby Wisconsin Dells or HoChunk Casinos
Guessing you'd have a better time ordering from European manufacturers ;-)

Looks like Skall solved the Riddle of Steel, and it turns out the steel IS mightier than the man who wields it.
even thulsa doom died by steel!
I love Albion swords. I’d have two or three by now but college is a bit more important currently. Great video and I’m excited to watch the future ones!
@skallagrim I found your videos a few years back when looking for a review on the TFW Ginuntung.
Thank you, keep it up, stay safe.
Dont worry about the audio of the background, its quite beautiful and calm sounding. Very beautiful home!
This video auto played up. So I didn’t get to see the thumbnail. But as soon as you showed this beast of a sword, I skeeted! My mind immediately was like “ I bet it cuts godlike” and boom you showed the cut footage. 😱. You’re so good at reviewing swords, that even my normie brain has been taught enough to at least spot and appreciate a great sword at an early glance.
I am a simple man; I see one of Skall's videos, I click
I don't know why but I found it really funny in the beginning when you started reviewing the sword and the weather started to worsen. Great review, Skal, and beautiful sword!
There is no perfect sword, we should always take context into consinderation, every sword type has its pros and cons and we have to... 0:53 Oh. Oh, bloody hell. 1:00, BY THE GODS!
Gosh u guys are so lucky ... Getting swords sent around from company to reviewer... I love this sword

Great review. One of the best channels on UA-cam. Always quality content.
Easily the greatest youtuber in my list. So looking forward to sword testing season!
Trees: "FLY YOU FOOLS!"
Skal: 😕
Sword: "Don't worry, I got you bro."
I live in Iowa and it's supposed to snow tonight, thanks Skall
Albion Princepe: exists. Skall: I’ll take your entire stock!

Petition to make Skall do all of his weapon rewievs with Valsgarde 8 helmet
Nah, it would just look wrong to combine an 8th century helmet with a 15th century sword.
@@Skallagrim "This is my new sword, and this is my helmet which was passed through generations in my family" ;)
@@Skallagrim one of the things that frustrates me most at renaissance festival. All the mismatched weapons and clothes.
Beautiful blade. Best kind of sword - simple, no-nonsense implement for dispatching enemies effectively.
This is a beautiful sword! Lets hope nothing horrible will happen to it in the future, oooh wait....
Secondary bevels on blades are great. I'm not sure why so many seem to hate them so much, they make sense and are very practical. Your final edge will be more robust, still come to a very keen edge that could even whittle a hair if you desire, with the benefits of a thinner blade primary bevel.
Dark Souls called. They want their Broadsword back
It wasn't until watching Skull then slingshot channel that I realised cutting took skill. The leg work just happened for me same with core use. Perhaps over a millennium trained my family? It's still insane to see the speed and fluidity of movement in someone with training. Unnerving in a way to see an object disappear for a halfsecond or so.
Mark my words: Skall's new favourite sword is that delicious Lockwood longsword he tested a few weeks back 😎
Albion's work really is outstanding
Skallagrim could you please do a video on the topic of fantasy underwater combat(mermaids, fish people, etc) and how practical tridents would be in them?
This sword reminds me a lot of the Biggoron’s Sword from Zelda. The wide, flat diamond shape blade especially.
I demand a petition for Skallagrim to finally get a forge.
@4:05 The blade sings so harmonically
Beautiful sword, Skal!
I can't get enough of your Albion sword! it's so amazing!
Principe vs Knecht!
That Would Be An Awesome Video!
It looks so god damn gorgeous
Bruh, hail has just begun and snow will begin soon here in Brazil, and Canada still has snow during what is the southern hemisphere's autumn. Canada is crazy.
That backdrop… ❤❤❤
That sword looks really dangerous.
Reminds me of the sword in the hand of the Nilfgaardian Knight card, in Gwent.
Skall, I wish you hadn't said "ribbed for her pleasure".
Well, at least now we know that Cara married him because of his nice collection of sex toys. :-)
him waving his hands around and smacking his hand with that sword scares me. I would be wary to get my hands near the blade
14:53 I could watch this all day
Can't wait to know to which sword belongs the first place !
Looks like the Greatsword from Mount and Blade: Warband lmao i.imgur.com/QnOrDyD.jpg
5:25 way more effective to grip meaning you can remove the pommel faster to end people rightly faster.
Nice sword skall.btw is canada on lock down
The whole world is on lockdown
Man, this sword has taken a number 1 spot on my favourite swords list, and this is coming from a katana fan. For that price though, it really should come with a scabbard, even if it is a simple and cheap one just for the safety when transporting it. But that said, if I ever get rich I will buy this sword ASAP. I need this sword.
If the Skall declares the "End of Winter", expect 6 more weeks of snow. So glad I live in Florida.
Hello @Skallagrim , I enjoy your videos . I am not able to buy such weapons , But I do like seeing them and learning about them . I do have a thing about blades and use to collect knives , Short swords . Some even hand forged Roman type sword . But can not afford the type you show . And you always have some little bet of history to go wih them . That is very cool . Just wanted to say thank you ,Keep safe up north .
Did you say get off my deck now? Your the best.
4:46 that one didn't age quite so well
I know you're talking about routine sharpening as opposed to edge damage, but someone did in fact have to regrind the whole thing.
Damn I wish I had two months of wages to drop on a toy. With expensive guns I can at least tell myself it's a defense tool or for hunting, but there is no way to justify getting a 3000$ sword xD I want one, but I just never see it happening.
You can use a sword for self defense 😏
@@FoddyFogHorn not a 3000$ one, hell no. Plus like, I already own many guns so it's like, ehhh. I wish I could convince myself it's worth it man, but if you're really honest with yourself, it's just a sharp plaything. Which sucks, they're cool. But gunpowder killed the melee weapon, plain and simple. It's rare to see bayonets nowadays even. And when you do I hardly call them bayonets, more like glorified knives.
@@CrudeConduct666 yeah facts
Hey a guy wielding a sword in close quarters is still scary. :p Mount it under your bed?
I woulnd put hunting rifles / shotguns in the same category as they are tools more than entertainment things. But i see no difference in buying a sword for 1400$ and a gun, both are equally unjustified. Whether your target practice shooting with guns or bows or cutting water bottles for fun, its all the same.
Would really like to see how it performs against various types of armor and shields. I know its a beaut of a sword and most people would hate to see it damaged overly, but I would love to see such an impressive and effective design tested against armor from the same time period it came from, such as trying to thrust and cut through mail and padded jackets, and employing halfswording and murderstrokes against plate armor if you have it
I realize this would not be economically feasible for most people, but if it should be anyone it should be you!
Lol those SFX on the mat cutting!
I actually want that Hoodie/Jacket thing
This sword brings me flashbacks of half-naked people with dusfigured faces cutting down knights...
Surprised no one made harvesting season joke
This Design should be in every sword Fight related Videogames
Skall: WINTER'S FINALLY OVER!!!!
Sean Bean: Wanna Bet?
Me: Come to GA, we have decent weather. Just remember social distance.
Beautiful sword. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Man with that point you really think it wouldn't do that well in the cut and would be more of a thruster. I love that Berserk clang it makes whenever it cuts through something.
i noticed you were careful not to grab the edge when you were halfswording at the end there, gotta be careful with the vorpal sword wot! ;)
Love the blade, I’d only say to extend the handle one more inch
Wow that sword is beautiful.
That sword is just beautiful
I own one of those. It feels like swinging sheet metal. The blade is so wide and thin. I wouldn’t cross swords with it, it would mangle the blade, but it absolutely cuts like a beast.
Fantastic sword! Along with the Alexandria, I think the only other sword that comes close to cutting power would be the Albion Viceroy, my favorite! Would be amazing if you could get your hands on it for a video
when you realized what you did to that beautiful blade you must have been so upset. That had to hurt. so hard to watch.
Skallchion teaser? heheheeee cant wait
Nope, sorry. I still don't have it.
To be fair...Winter is finally over...but....we are having a "feisty" Spring upon us!
A Prankster one!
Sounds like a masterwork
skall could you talk about fantasy swords that use real life materials like diamond, gold and tell us if they would work?
Oh god that's a gorgeous sword
Nice deck, by the way. I like the view...though this is someone who likes the aesthetics of 'terrible weather' (though I hate standing in it as much as anyone else).
Yes, the blade shape cuts like a monster. I've never handles the Principe, but I have done cutting with the Alexandria, which has the same blade shape. At one point I actually though I'd missed the mat since I felt so little resistance, but nope, that's what happens when you get the edge alignment right with this blade shape.
Very pretty blade on this sword.
It's almost harvesting season!
Comfy Hoodie Skal is the best
I shall call this blade.... Expensive home defense
You mentioned that this sword was based on a piece from the 15th century where it likely had to contend with plate armour, so I was wondering why the blade profile is designed this way (seemingly for cutting)? I know that the sword can obviously still thrust, but does the shape have any advantages in that regard? Is it easier to half sword?
I love the crossguard
lol, you just used an insult piece from secret of Monkey Island (and i've got a TIP for you; get the POINT?)
God, i loved that game 😄
Anyway, great video, as always,.
I’m lucky to own a Principe with a blackened hilt and brown grip. It’s a magnificent sword
It would be awesome if you set up a forge at your new place and started to dabble in smithing a little bit.
Sees it in Kult of Athena as "Battle ready" Thinks it should be categorized as Konami Ready
The cutting noise sounds like the collision of weapon noises from Skyrim lol.
It looks really pretty too.
You should play Blade and Sorcery again, it's had some decent updates since last you played!
Tfw Skall teases us by telling us his favorite sword is yet to come. Drama is heating up in the sword reproduction fandom!
Sorry to disappoint, I still don't have it.
I would love to see you do a review of the weapons in the Dark Souls 3 series, the game has a huge variety of weapons, from swords and katanas to pole arms and maces, fantasy and historical alike. You could criticize the fighting style ingame aswell while you are at it. I'd love to hear your opinion on them.
