- The methods and locations are different when it comes to Fishing for speckled trout in the colder months. In this video I have @southernsalt joining me again on the boat and I discuss Lure color selection and retrieval speeds that work best for this time of the year, at least for me. All my fish were caught on the Lil Slick Mad mullet color as well as the chartreuse.

I truly love watching you two guys fish together. Merry Christmas! I would love to see you two or mayby 3 (the Bayou Bandit) of yall do a challenge with the P- Cola guys. Brent, Bearded Brad, & Bama Beach Bum. Maybe a P-cola bay challenge and a Mobile Bay Challenge. That would be a good un. All my favs battling it out.
Yea that would be interesting! Will Definitely keep that idea around for 2022 sometime, as always i appreciate ya watching and happy holidays
Right off the bat you guys are catching them like crazy back to back. Awesome video and tight lines! -Bryce
I want to see you take Nathan back offshore to haul some big Amberjacks. Funniest thing I've ever seen!
😂 oh that’s definitely gonna happen when they open back up in the fall. I about died laughing watching that fish kick his butt
That dang rope 😂
Haha happens to the best of us
I’m liking the Salt Strong products.
I haven’t tried any of their products. You using the slam shady?
Great 👍 fishing
Thanks 👍
Great vid Capt! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Tight lines!
Thanks you too!
I enjoyed the night fishing/dock lights video you did. I know it's not the easiest to shoot with the lighting but they are entertaining.
Working on making a good lighting setup for doing that, but it is fun! Thanks for watching!
Nice quick trip Branden! Happy New Year!!
Had to get a quick trip in! Haha Happy holidays yall stay safe
Southern salt sent me, subbed!
Awesome, Welcome to the channel!
Happy New year!
You too!
Enjoyed this episode. I like artificial and you guys got it done with the plastic. Good job. Look forward to more.
Me too! I get lazy this time of the year and don’t feel like hunting down or buying bait, plus plastics are more fun to catch them on. Thanks, more to come!
Appreciate the video Capt. I got some slick lures today and ready to try them out.
Hey no prob, thanks for watching. Let me know how you like em. They have been my new favorite lure this year
nice capt!
Thank ya sir!
Branden let’s go to the stumps when I get back to see if the red fish action is hot this time of year
Sounds good. Ive been wanting to go and see whats up over there.
Fun video brother, and great editing as always! Who won?
Thanks! and we just called it a tie, Lol too many dinks were caught
I caught a 8 lb speck down in SW Florida one time that had eaten a 15 inch 1 lb mullet. After that I never worry about using too big a bait.
Yep thats crazy! I never worry about my bait or lure being to big because ive cleaned so many trout with 5-12" finfish stuffed in there bellies regularly
Great video. And merry Christmas to you and your family
Thanks buddy!
My little girl Raelynn caught a 25 1/4” last Tuesday in That slip! Using ripple mullet white/chartreuse
Nice! That’s a stud, congrats on that fish. We were hoping to atleast find a 20” somewhere in there lol
Great fishing Capt., merry Christmas
Thanks! Happy holidays
Bayou beast
haha love fishing the bayou
Didn't know they had size limits on crab bait..LOL... Nice baby flatty though....Hope You and Yours had a Great Christmas and Happy New Year....Time for some of those Goats, maybe some Land fishing under Cut-off?? Show everybody the Real Struggle...LOL.... "RTR"
Haha will make plans too do that!
I need to fish with y’all!!!!
We might could make that happen this year 🤙
Try a slow sinker silver green rattle bait … since your showing everyone my secret spot 🤣🤣🤣 jk that’s a good spot buddy
Lol the people who know where we are in this video already knows that fishing hole 😅 thanks for watching
Really enjoy ur videos, I also like the way u put an audio clip explaining lure selection. Quick question what type of top water lure would u suggest for going after trout or reds, some of the places I fish are about a foot and half to 2 foot of crystal clear water.
Thanks, I’d like to start adding to voice over from time to time to really explain what’s going on more in depth. For reds, I like a red head/white body or just a bone white. For specks in clear water I’d go with a bone white or silver color. Brighter colors usually work better when the sun is up and bright. Hope this helps
Made 2 trips last week . 1st trip I caught 17 trout not 1 keeper.
2nd trip I caught probably 40 something and had 2 keeper trout.
Dang. Lots of dinks that’s for sure. Maybe it’ll help us out next year though
Love those specs. We caught them off dauphin island in Sept.
Can I get a Lets go Brandon?
Absoluetly... #LGB
Hey man, i live in NC and was wondering if january is a good time to catch speckled trout. Ive tried a bunch of things and cant get into them.
idk about up there, but January and February can be tough at times. The low water temps sometimes get the fish lethargic, but they have to eat at some point! just gotta be in the right place at the right time throwing the right bait Lol
More gigging please sir
Can do. Starting around April
You fishing on incoming or outgoing tide?
I’m sure what the tide was in this video, it was from awhile back. If I had to guess, it was on an incoming
Who won round 2
We just called it a tie. 2-2. Too many small fish were caught lol
I love trout fishing and all, but I would love to accidentally catch flounder.
haha Right? Id much rather have a mess of flounder
Swamp thing or limon?
I’m sorry?
What color lil slick? Was that the swamp thing? I feel like I have more hookups on the lil slicks.
Love your vids. Are you kin to Shane?
I appreciate it! And shane who? I most likely am
@@CaptCollier Shane Collier, would be around 51. Went to school with him at St Margaret's many years ago. ;)
