This makes me proud to be a cellist. My cello teacher gave me the music to this for me and my friends to play at a concert. Hopefully, we don't ruin the song. (I'm playing Paavo's part, guy with short hair).
this is their best performance of this song, the soloist didn't play that bad this time, and it was the closest they came to the original recording! FUKIN AWESOME!!!
AS a fan of Grieg and Classical music I have to say these dudes give a whole new spin on the genre I find awesome. Their version of Heavy Metal is itself badass. In music originality is not to common but these guys set their own "bar" pretty high in deed !
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! I am a stone Metal Head and like my hero, Bruce Duckinson of Iron Maiden, an avowed fan of Classical Music. There are many pieces of classical music that relate directly to Metal. The Hall of the Mountain King is definitely one of them. Try listening to Wagner, that'll kick your ass too! I love how they are totally rocking out to it when it's so classical. We're playing this in my band class, but it doesn't sound this awesome. lol ... So Awesome ... Makes me want to learn how to play cello. lol
In addition to their musicianship, I can only admire their sense of aesthetics and the talent to not get their hair caught up in the bow and strings. Speaking from personal experience, easier said than done... but hey, that patch of hair will grow back. Eventually.
first of all, i thought some band was playing for the background until about 2:01 then i realized it was only 4 instruments played by these 4 genius!! genius, really. i don't even know what to say - literally dumbfounded till the end of the song.
Anybody who says this sucks is on glue! These guys are rediculously awesome and I can only imagine what it actually sounded like being there. Anyone is welcome to attempt to post something better
