Thanks, this is the best instruction I've seen by far. thanks for taking the time to show it. The manufacturer's video doesn't show the part one trim at all.
I struggled with 1.5mm rubber and a cooling day. I cut a 200mm length of 2nd part of trim and used that to push the edpm into the top groove in short sections. It stayed in place and then made it easy to push and click the cover piece.
Well done, as dependable as ever. We appreciate what you show for the rest of us. Never despair, those that never made a mistake never made anything It's always darkest just before the dawn.
Just used this for a 1.5mm rubber roof. Makes it much, much harder, but still possible - easiest to fit from underneath, rather than ‘top down’. You just need a lot of strength to get the rubber inside the lip. Great video!
Thanks for the guide, did just this last night. needs a bit of a thump, but went in fine. Works a treat. Used this drip tray as you suggested rather than the one in the kit. Thanks for all your fab videos. Did my garden room following your guides.
Great video as usual, I have just fitted a long section on my own on a coldish day. I found after cutting the rubber i used a thin scrapper to push the rubber into channel this made fitting the second profile much easier..... for an old bloke.
Great videos and just subscribed. I have a flat roof (that isn't quite flat) and it doesn't have a drip trim so the water is running down the wall. Thinking about trying to fix it myself but after watching how good you are I think I am going to call a Pro (you) to get a quote. Great videos. Thanks v much.
@@thegardenroomguruhi mate, thank you so much for all the videos and info. Would you be kind enough to share the manufacturer or supplier of these two part gutter trims? I ordered some for my build and they look garbage compared. Cheers Rob
Scared of heights and arthritis in wrists there was no chance I could get it in like that . After hours of failure 💡 from a ladder I pushed the rubber home with a scraper first . boosh trim straight in. Happy days
Long runs will need an expansion gap in the first parts of the trim (1mm per meter should be sufficient), the second part of the trim should be ok if it is butted together as any expansion will just cause it to slide along the first trim.
Hi Liam, Cracking job as usual. I'm living in Ireland and just coming to the end of my own build based on your style but I can't seem to find the 2 part trims and the roof kerb any where but the uk. Can you let me know where you get yours so I get the same quality one that you use. Alan 🇮🇪
Great gutter trim the other kind where you put the trim over the rubber is rubbish as you say the water goes down behind the trim and misses 4:29 the gutter
Hi i did the hybrid roof insulation to the top with a vapour barrier I’ve noticed tonight there’s 14 patches of condensation the size of the insulation boards on the top of the rubber roof outside is this normal please ? Thank you
1.5 mm rubber not so easy , get the fairy liquid on it , back front and in the grove , needs a good push up and a clip with the hammer . Prior to the fairy it was graft , and had to take the gutter off to get upward force . Happy with it though
You never ever want to puncture your rubber! 😉That could cause many problems! Also surely you only want to put your rubber on when it’s stiff! God this is not stop filth virtually every word coming out of your mouth! I love It keep it up!
How come your team has shrunk is it the usual you teach people how to do and then they go off and under cut you, the grass looks good but you do end up with things growing in it, I did 50sq metres in the garden about 3 years back and every now and again get on hands a knees to pluck out small weeds and grass, when you put it on a roof do you still put dried sand in the piles to keep the grass standing up also does it help with regulating temp on the roof.
WHere can i get this trim? Fitted an EPDM roof not an hour ago, was going to fold it under but did NOT want to puncture it, seems pointless having epdm if you're going to put nails in it.
the top sits level with the bottom of the square profile of the kerb trim. then when you put the kerb trim corner cap on, it sits over and on the lip of the gutter trim
Who in the world designs this crap!!! As a general contractor for 40 years and of course roofing this is a complete disaster! There is no way that clip in pieces that easily slides will hold that rubber as it shrinks over years creating bubbles on top edge of the roof. Then we have another serious problem. The top edge of the roof is already built out ¾ inch then the snap in piece at a 45° bumps out again totaling up about 1 ¾ inch bumping which would be normal if there was a singled pitch roof. An average pitch roof because of the minerals on the shingle slow the water runoff. Rubber roofs the water runoff is super quick! Meaning you do not use much drip edge on rubber roof so the faster water speed run off doesn’t miss the gutter below? Want more proof. When you have two for 4/12 pitch roofs intersecting we use long pieces of metal flashing creating a gully between those two roofs. The water running off that metal gully many times you see a splash guard added to the gutter in that spot Obviously the engineer that came up with this designed system has no clue what he was doing has no basic knowledge of water runoff
@@thegardenroomguru Seriously because you don’t like basic physics and math, can’t accept things like speed, gravity commonsense and you come back with this reply. But if this is on someone’s home, a lot of people the sidewalk will get wet and the building’s façade will be exposed to a lot of water for no reason You’re also missing the point that clipped in piece will not hold that rubber roof slipping past that metal and in time will pull and shrink creating a bad rubber roof edge like theirs bubbles on their rubber roof leading edge will be loose that way in time

The trims will bow between the pins if get any sunlight in summer and epdm will retract especially with the amount of water base your using.
