After Arthur untied him, he was hostile towards him because of being wanted( the gun of the law man was directed towards Arthur), the npc mistook it as being hostile against him and now he isnt innocent anymore.
You get honor for every time you do this unless there's a clear evidence that person is EVIL the game makes your honor up whenever it's not actually clear whenever it's an innocent person or not
I got my third home robbery tip from a prisoner in shackles, so when I rescued the third prisoner from the sheriff wagon I didn't get a tip because I got it from the shackled prisoner.

That was brilliant. It really is the best game ever. May not have the best gameplay or graphics or whatever one judges the best by but for the over all game and just a tiny little random thing like this happening among thousands of other weird things it has to be the best. For example if there is a klan meeting instead of going in there if you hide and throw a tomohawk theystart freaking out saying its the redskins and two of them lit themselves on fire by running into one another.
