As young man growing up in the early 70's I loved the Timex TV Commercials, placing their typical time piece on the end of a pro-skiers ski who swooshes down the mountain. The commercial spokesman would remove the watch at the bottom of the run and show the watch to the camera while exclaiming, "Timex! Takes a licking and keeps on Ticking." Talk about nostalgic. Great review Mark. This one is worth a look over for sure.
Another, great review. I like the points you make about up spec'n the watch and the feel it gives you to go out and about and actually use it. That's exactly how I feel about mine, it almost makes me wonder how folks felt about the original "adventure watches" when they just worked, and had purpose before they became what we know them as today. Functional, great looking, accessible.
Just watched this again and it got me thinking that most people that get a GMT watch will probably never use it anyway, so it doesn't matter if it' a traveler or not...I've personally never used any of mine for its intended purpose.... 💁♂
This would be perfect, if it was a 38-39mm case and the lug-to-lug around 46mm. Just a personal preference though. I'm crossing my fingers that Timex will also introduce a smaller version, if not I'll have to skip, sadly.
I might pay close to £200, but no more. Maybe they need to do a Toyota/Lexus and create a cool sub-brand for which they could charge more. For me, Timex means cheap, acceptable quality, the occasional interesting design, but that's it. By the way, that is clearly a homage - you can't escape the obvious.
The Timex name signify’s a person who wishes to purchase a timepiece where the cost, functions and quality are balanced. The name is as well known as the Rolex.
@@AardvarkAdventure you can get an automatic gmt pagani for 80$ and tandorio offer a nice mechanical gmt for 90$ and both come with a bracelet. The San Martin gmt is 150$

This is extremely tempting
Totally thought this was a fixed bezel. Rotating bezel just made this watch a whole lot more interesting.
Just got put on the short list for my next watch and affordable 😃👍
Its beautiful!….😮
Very good design….
And its automatic!…

You don’t at least set it to a travel destination that you frequent or will frequent? What do you set the GMT on?
Would love to see it on diff straps!

It’s a pretty watch but definitely 550 eur for this is WAY too much
Nobody has noticed the connection with the Tudor north flag
It might be the coolest watch of all time, however I am from Dundee and will never wear a Timex.
Very good looking watch indeed but fo4 most ppl, $500 is considering very affordable and its a timex. I would no problem paying $300 though
its sold out everywhere :(
it's simple but cool
Should have used miyota 9000 movement and I'd own it.
What would the price have risen to?
@@altonza no price rise. Watches made in China. Use better movement.
It’s a nice watch but seiko explorer is half the price.
Bezel looks off by half a click
Basic office gmt
41mm - 48mm lugtolug too big for me :(
Tiny wrist boi
@@satl3161small wrists are better aesthetically, especially if you lift. You have a better taper, arms look bigger.
46 would’ve been nice
@@satl3161can’t do anything about being born with smaller wrists, but you can do something about that sh*tty attitude
Am I the only one to think that this timex is overpriced given the level of the movement ?
Just needs a cyclops
Looks cheap.
look cheap and look ilke a toy
You are paying an extra 400 for the name, the timex name isn't worth it,
I disagree a 100%

Which watch is similar to this at $149?

my best part starts at 15:23
550 Dollars for a Timex ? Nope. It could be made of solid gold, still not keen at that price for that brand.
Very pricey expecially for the crappy movement
