Another thing I thought is worth trying, which sounds a bit bebopier, is to play the alt licks off the beat so to fall on the target note, on the beat, at the end of the phrase. Happy New Year!
Thanks Jack! Just curious from a theory perspective, why does the F alt scale sounds good over the A chord and not just the B? I would think A lydian dominant or Eb alt there (from your previous videos). All the licks sound great, which is all that matters, I just can't think of why it sounds good over the A chord. Thanks!!
