Thanks for this video, I put off changing my fuel pressure regulator on my 2011 1.6tdi Caddy for a long time as there were no codes when I scanned the car and the new part was quite expensive, but I suspected this part was the cause of my issues. Symptoms were: occasional long cranking to start or no start, rough running at low rpm, and reduced power. The part I removed was VW part number 03L130764A, a new one was ~£450-500, however I found an aftermarket version from Merlin Diesel in the UK 'Aftermarket Continental 5WS40730 Common Rail Pressure Control Valve (PCV)' for £90. Fitted it and van now starts quickly first time, definitely improved the smoothness of running, and noticeable power was restored. Wish I had done it sooner. Cheers

Good video , I need to remove my fuel rain to change my rocker cover gaskets , so I have to remove injectors etc not looking forward to this

My Caddy 1.6td keeps leaking fuel from return lines, beside injector. I have changed the lines individually and whole set.
My theory is the rubber O'rings are poor quality on replacement lines.
Could it be an Over-Pressue issue. . . ? 👨🔧 🛠 🔧
Did you change the non return valve on return lines?

I just noticed there is non-return part. Inside is a spring and ball-bearing.
I only noticed, as the spare set I had in the overhead storage had being knocked and damaged/broke the non-return part.
Now I have 2 newly purchased spare sets, and will try replace whole set again. Seems like the replacement's only last 10k or 20k.

If you have high pressure fuel pump with only one head and fuel regulator on it then remove the regulator and you will notice yellow metal parts that means it is damaged
Zdravo, gledam deka si od Bitola pa mozham da ti se oratam na makedonski. ziveam vo Amerika i imam Vw passat 2013 2.0tdi se. Kolata nishto zivo nemozi da zapali, vergla a ne pali. Ovie motori vikat deka imat problemi so pumpata za visok pritisok, ama dokolku e taa mi rekoa deka treba da ima mali metalcina pusteno segde niz naftenio sistem, a takvi nema nigde. Od pumpata za visok pritisok pa se do diznite site cevki gi otvorivme nema nigde strugotini od pumpata. dali sepak taja mozi da ne raboti ili so bi mozelo da bidi ova so nemozi da zapali kolata. Isto sakam da prasam kolku Omhi treba da imaat otpor diznite dali znajs ?

Nafta odi segde ama diznite nisto zivo ne prskat Nafta. Kolata e zemena od aukcija i mozno e da e sedena podolgo vreme. What is the normal fuel pressure for this engine please?
Normal fuel pressure is around 260bar when engine is idle, when starting should reach minimum 150bar to start

Hi ! Great video. I have on my caddy that dosent start, a fault code p019300 high fuelpressure . And also one 001D38 unknown fault code (i also use delphi). Could it be the same problem?
Usually unknown fault code is for dpf filter but it's not problem for starting but high pressure is problem try with different fuel regulator
@@mechanicigor i changed the regulator , but p019300 still comes up after i delete it. It says high signal in, and the spiral lamp flashes in the car . Do you have any ideas?

@@mechanicigor i checked it, i have connection in both wires. I also tested putting a battery to the regulator, and it dosent click . I replaced the old regulator with a used one. I suspect that they both are broken as they dosent klick ?
@@kristoffergillsberg6139 there is always possibility also this regulator are clicking very quiet so I think you can sense the vibration more than you can hear the clicking try to loosen just a little some metal fuel pipe so you have fuel leaking to see if the vehicle starts

@@mechanicigor the car has got timing belt driven cam and fuel pump do u think it can be high pressure fuel pump
The fuel regulator on this Audi is on the left hand side of the fuel rail and it say regulator 1
@@zukhrufhussain2271 there is possibility that is another one on the high pressure fuel pump check that by disconnecting the fuel regulator crank the engine and check the fault code to know which one is first or second

Hi there we having problems with our 2011 1.6tdi golf, our mechanic has put his computer on it coming up about fuel pressure, he has changed the sensor and still wouldn’t start, now changed the regulator which has costed us near £500 so far and still won’t start for him, the battery went dead yesterday after trying for an hour. He’s gone to recharge the battery and coming back to try again, any ideas what would be wrong? Thanks
If that happen from normal working check valve on high pressure pump does it click or some fuel injector stuck open and that's why can't make pressure
The car started to give problems by loosing power and would die out, the glow light would come on and then it wouldn’t start at all. The two codes coming up was the fuel sensor and regulator, he has changed both and still nothing, I think he’s fed up with it as much as us. Il mention that to him to see what he says, thanks

1. do i need to change whole fuel pressure regulator which is expensive. or just need to change cables because as i read its related to wiring circuit problem.

You should check the wiring for continuity with multimeter from the regulator to the ecu usually the problem is near the transmission or on the connector of regulator also you can check the regulator resistance to see if it's damaged

Hello. Important video that I look for long time. I would like to ask about the issue. My car is giving the code P0087 Fuel rail/System Pressure - Too Low
Symphtoms: during cold weather I drive normally without any complications. But during the relatively hot weather I get Safe Mode(car loses its power and gets very slow, on dashboard indicator of spring(pružina) blinks) when I want to accelarete. I have no problem with starting my car. And recently it is giving another fault code throttle valve or clapan that I'm going to clean soon. Do you think I have to change also pessure regulator or problem is with another fuel system part?

Code is p0266 or p0090?
As you can notice in the video I didn't get any fault code because the fuel pressure regulator is OK electrical but mechanical it's not holding pressure you can get fault code when driving if the fuel pressure drops
P0266 is for injection quantity of the injectors so I suggest first to check the quantity of fuel sprayed by the injector, you can check with diagnostic tester in real time data
