My problem with Mimic is that you can affect individual slices like you can in Dr Octorex, or more modern samplers like Serato. I like to repitch individual chunks (while retaining timing) so I can create something entirely different than the original sample. I sort of feel like chopping is kind of lazy and barely better than just looping the original sound source most of the time. On top of that you cant individual stretch slices, cant reverse slices, cant filter them, etc. So many sill omissions in what would be a really cool device.

@@pepper... Good question! I wouldn't say I'm a professional piano player by any stretch. I understand a decent amount of theory, apply it in the software, make adjustments whenever necessary. The beauty of software. Ultimately, it puts me in a great state of mind. That's WHY I make music or attempt to. The WHY is much more valuable to me.

That's a really good idea. Might have to start doing that in the future.
You should put the polyphony on mono if you are sampling chops. Either mono retrig or mono legato. Poly would be best for playing single shot chords.
How do I put my sample from mimic into the sequencer no one explains that 😂
You drag your sample into mimic. From there, depending on how you adjust your sensitivity knob, you would just record it using your midi keyboard.

Then, I wouldn't be sampling. I would definitely layer the sample with a live instrument.
