Hi, thanks for your sharing. I also be able to make my own adapter. But when I tested stereo voice by using my phone played test voice, I found left channel was missing. After I tested every pin I can use. I believe left channel should be pin A11. But I use SJCAM c200. Just FYI👍
@@nianeko3670 got it! So I think SJCAM only supports mono(or c200 only supports mono). But it will pass to right and left channels in records. Yellow train is the railways in Taiwan’s mountain. I think it was built by Japanese for forestry. Now it is for tourism.

As it was not clear on your video, to connect the A5 to Gnd, I have try so many things, and little bit burnt the c-type panel too, but after I have connected the A5 to GND, I can confirm it is work as should be. Now I have 2 channels external mic stereo sound with my SJ8 PRO action camera, that is just fantastic! :) In future try to make more clear videos, then you can get lot more visitors!

HI, i wanted to know that the sjcam external mic's golden wire is ground or the red one is ground? I am trying to use the original usb type c connector and solder it to female mono 3.5 mm connector
I did not open the mic cable so do not know which color is ground. But if you connect the original usb type-c connector to SJ8, I think you can find the ground line by voltmeter.
Finally I've got the usb-c connector and travel female. I little bit confused with A5 connecting to the Gnd. Is it mean I need to remove the current soldered resistor? Which part is A5 point, is it top part (near to other pin) or bottom part (near the edge of PCB)?
From what I could see in the video, you bridged the A5 pin to ground, correct? Also, what I would like to do is to make a connector that not only accepts stereo mic input, but also allows charging. In that case, is it still a good idea to eliminate the 56k resistor by bridging A5 to ground?
A5 is ID pin for SJ8. That means if A5 is connected to Gnd the camera recognise a mic is connected. Change from inner mic to external mic. Connecting Vbus & Gnd to external power, you can make mic & power adapter. But electric noise is hard to use.

Hi And..., I also have ''SjCam 8 Pro'' and I skiing. I have problem with batteries which to fast discharge. I wanted to use supply from my powerbank in my pocket and plug externall oryginall microphone with connector usb type c. I done a test using one cable one meter lenght with four wires. So, I cut my older cable microUSB witch both side. Upper cable side I soldered in to the plug (to the socket in camera). The second part cable (bottom) I separated to power supply (plus and minus) and audio (signal and minus). These both separatelly lines I soldered to the socket USB 2.0 and socket USB type C. In to the socket USB2.0 I pluged my plug from powerbank. In to the socket USB type c I pluged my plug from external microphone. I turned on my camera the button power. I set in camera preferencess externall microphon. I switched on my camera the button shoot video and i shooted video about 10sec with my sound. When I replayed my shoot video I heard disruptions. I think that it is reason current flow from powerbank in to battery in my camera. When I turned off my battery from power suplly from powerbank and I repeated one more time shooted video with my sound, it my voice was clear and without disruptions. Conclusions Wires power supply and wires audio should have to own shields. Therefore adapters which I see on the browser Alliexpres have two cables soldered separatelly and near plug USB type C. Type-C connecter is reversible. So B11 & A11 is same R-ch.

I have no data about boya mic. There is no sold sj8 mic adapter. So only method is DIY.

If your camera does not recognise the external mic,
1. Camera Settings: External Mic>ON
2. Type C connector: Pin A5 must be connected to Gnd.

I bought an audio cable (3.5mm plug to 3.5mm plug) and cut to use. With this cable, you can make 2 adapter. 😊

Now A5 is connected to Vbus by resistor. Near the edge of PCB is Vbus. So opposite side of resistor is A5. Remove the resistor and connect A5 to Gnd.

These types of adapter do not work on SJ8.

You can not get stereo out of a mono camera, but two mono channels. The two channels will be the same.

I do not know about firefly 8se usb port. May be same as Gopro 4.
Buy the original microphone for firefly 8s. I have got it and the sound is great!
