Hi Andrew, not sure if you figured it out yet or not but there is a switch on the shower head to turn on and off the water flow to conserve water, like being in the Navy. Get wet, suds up, rinse off. Saves a ton of water and gets the job done. I like it because you can set the water to where you like the temperature setting and then just jump in, flip the little switch on the head and boom. Hope that helps with the shower situation.
I appreciate videos that point out typical problems or design flaws. Thanks Andrew. For your shower, try removing the shower head and turning the water on. Sometimes the screen gets blocked. The screw in the cabinet is called a Robertson Square Drive and was invented in Canada where it is the most common screw sold. They are virtually impossible to strip the head which makes them superior to a Phillips head screw.
Andrew, I am glad you now know the beauty of Michelin Tires, I was so surprised with the first set I purchased, Great handling, no vibration or squirrely feel in the steering and best of all no hydroplaning at all, when it had been a real problem; I was amazed. This was thirty years ago and I have never purchased anything but Michelin for anything I drive. First thing I do is switch out the tires if anything else is one a vehicle. I also make my friends do the same thing when they need new tires, never had one not be happy with them.
Looks like you figured it out by yourself, 4 out of 5 of the issues we all deal with, normal wear and tear, the 5th and the shower is another subject , stay safe keep up the good work!
And on the positive side, what went right with your Leisure Travel Van? Is there anything in particular you can fix yourself rather than sub contracting it out? . I have owned a Roadtrek 210 Popular for 17 years. You have to have a certain skill level to fix problems otherwise you will be waiting for someone to fix it for you. I am hoping to have Leisure Travel Van Wonder in my future.
A lot of respect, a non promotional upload pointing out particular "problems" you've had with your personal rig! However trivial some of them night seem, if it stops someone else from suffering through them (not many have an "inside man" at Mercedes!) then it's well worth it! 👍
Detach the showerhead wind from the hose soak it in vinegar and check the small screen which filters out particulates going into the showerhead and you’ll be amazed with a simple repair that is. Thomyt
Andrew those are called Robertson head screws they are used in all Canadian made products since the 30s. If you shoot me an address I will send you a set of Robertson tips.
Thanks for this video!!! I am planning to buy a Unity Rear Lounge LTV in the next few months. I am glad you shared the issues that you have been having.
Thank you Andrew for sharing your LTV experience. My husband and I are looking at one right now. Thank you for the tip on the Michelin tires and the curtains. Wow, I thought Class Bs wouldn't have as much problems as the Class As (not yet an RV owner, but working on it). Your videos are so helpful, thank you!!
Thanks for the video... Between you and James I've learned one thing you got to stay on top of that stuff.. you'll have a better life at the end of the day. ✌🏼🇺🇲
Great video! You probably figured this out by now however, the toilet paper holder mounts horizontal. The set screw only works one way. Good luck, nice coach!!
I have seen the same shower issue before. As it turns out, the shower head can be turned off so you save water while showering. I recall a family member turning off the shower at the head and then turning the valve off. When I went to turn the shower on, no water. I didn’t realize what was happening until I saw a small dribble of water from the head.
I appreciate people like you, who don't lie about the state of their vehicles. I am the same, whenever I sell a car/motorcycle I have pre-owned, I always tell the buyer about all repairs, issues and things that sooner or later will require replacement/servicing. These are mostly minor things, but if not tended to, can become a nuisance. Btw, it is every single vehicle after a certain amount of miles/years that will have issues, that is why I have a new vehicle as my primary car and a new motorcycle every 4 - 5 years (I prefer leasing over buying).
Those are Robertson screws, the most common types in Canada where LTVs are made. They are far better than flat or Phillips as it would take a lot to strip them.
When you mention about the Toilet paper handle I lost it 🙃For the love of mental health Andrew I can see the Shower 🚿👀not working but that was my last straw I mean to not have some place for the Toilet paper 😅
Thank you, for sharing your experiences with your LTV! I was specifically looking for videos that provide specific examples of the kinds of problems people have with LTVs. So, this was the perfect video, for me. After watching your video, I have to say that I am MORE inclined to purchase a Leisure Travel Van - because, none of the problems you listed were at all major. There are SO many things that can go wrong in an RV. And, many if not most of them have the potential of being much bigger than the problems you had. I'm thinking about things like leaks, slides not working, transmission issues, other drive train issues, electrical issues, delamination of surfaces, paint issues, other mechanical issues - things that can truly cost a fortune and ruin your experience of ownership. So, I was glad to see your issues were very minor. It reflects well on the quality and craftmanship that goes into Leisure Travel Vans. I could easily tolerate such minor inconveniences, compared to the other potential issues I mentioned. Thanks, again!
You say 5 problems. Your curtain was operator’s error tires are maintenance issue not the rv issue. Door broke was operator error. TP holder normal maintenance. Shower could be rv problem. So maybe 1 out of 5. And yes some people are lucky to never have any issues. Keep up the good work
These things are like a boat, endless issues and sometimes a money pit. To each their own for what they use to "get away" Great channel keep up the good work :D
I didn't see any issues with the camper. The tire thing is on Mercedes, the rest is user error, including not turning the shower head on. Im 99% sure that was the issue. I use similar shower heads here at home.
That shower problem is super annoying, but overall not too bad as far as RV problems go. I have the same curtains in my Renegade Verona and even being super careful I am always breaking or dislodging those clips. I can't stand them and am trying to find another solution. My curtains do tuck behind the seat, so no worry about the window. Besides one plumbing fitting leaking, the Verona has been solid for its first 20,000+ miles. My friend has the same van as you and was complaining about the handing and vibration. I am going to tell him about the Michelins. Hopefully this is the end of your probems for a while. Safe travels!
My friend, as a former owner of a pop-up, fifth wheel and a junk Class A (Georgetown), if those were your only problems… You’re golden! And honestly, for 160K new? You should be golden. 🤣
Wow! Sorry you're experiencing so many issues. We owned a 2016 Leisure Travel Vans Unity Murphy Bed before our 2018 Tiffin Allegro RED, and I don't recall having any problems with our Leisure Travel Van. We traded it because we rescued a dog from the animal shelter who was supposedly a year old and fully grown at 39 lbs. He grew four inches longer and 41 lbs. heavier, so the Murphy Bed was just too small for the two of us and our 80 lbs. rescue.
@@oliviamartini9700 Yes not a good idea, you can love them as much a you want without even getting into alpha things they shed hair, that and eating at the dinner table, because let's face it, they have no table manners, is a big no no.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for posting another great video. I've watched many of your video's and always appreciate your work. My wife and I were out earlier today at a local RV dealer. They carry a number of brands including, but not limited too, Winnebago, Tiffin and Leisure Travel. We initially were interested in the Winnebago View (24D), but then were introduced to the Leisure Unity (MB) model. My initial review of both units left me feeling that the Leisure Unity had better build quality than the Winnebago. Please keep us posted on your experiences with your Leisure Van. That shower issue although I'm sure it was very annoying and upsetting at the time, I'd like to believe it's a quick - simple - fix with no further problems. Very nice unit - I'd buy one! Stay safe and well.
We had that exact problem with our F450 that had Continental tires. As soon as we put new ones on, no more wobble and the ride was 100% better. Those tires are horrible. I do not understand how they come stock. All new trucks that come in to my husband's work that have Continental tires get new tires before they get put in the fleet.
So add a Velcro strap to the curtain. BFHD. The screw is a damaged Phillips. Someone used the wrong size driver. Twist it out with vice grips and replace it. Put blue Loctite on the TP holder screw and tighten it. There’s likely a shutoff button on the shower handle. Push it the other way.
Of course the tire man says you need to change all the tires! I might have tried to rotate two fronts to the back just to try it. Low cost and if it works great, if not you are back to where you started.
I agree with you theoretically. It's one of those shoulda, coulda, woulda scenarios I suppose. Luckily he got the new tires and there's no more vibration. I actually don't think that $1500 bucks is too bad for six new Michelins. I think often times, it comes down to peace of mind. Andrew puts lots of miles on a vehicle and needs to know that now, hopefully, he won't have any tire problems.
Thanks for the vid. None of us have an rv without issues guaranteed! Just came back from a trip had to repair a slide topper and now my transfer switch, I have to replace one of the conductors. 🤦♂️
" I have an older model Leisure Travel. 96 and has same issue with curtains. Simple fix is slim bungee around the curtain and attached around the headrest or could put small hookeye in cabints behind seats.
Okay if James isn’t/wasn’t able to do a vid on your shower issue at least tell us what the problem turns out to be then, pretty please. 10,000 miles already, well can’t wait to hear about the good, the bad and the ugly when you compare it. Cheers 🍻

This may sound stupid Andrew but did you check the shutoff switch on the shower head. If it is pushed in one direction it will shut off all the water coming out of the shower head. It is meant to be used to save water. You use the knob to set the water temp and turn on the flow, then you push the switch on the shower head to let the water come out. If it is closed you won't get any water.
I see none of those problems you mentioned as actual problems. They're inconvenience caused by user error. The shower probably has an on/off lever on the showerhead itself that wasn't turned on.
It’s user error when you curtains blow out the window when your drivn a 100 K plus RV ??? Same for the toilet paper holder ??? You sound pretty dumb sir 😂😂😂
Michelin tires on years of “Mama Taxi minivans” saved m life several times!!!! I even put new ones on my first Prius ....won’t drive anywhere without them!!! Still do 50mpg with them on!’ Happy 👵🏼
There are too many comments to read through them all, however, in case you haven’t found out yet, that screw is called a Robertson… It’s Canadian. It’s actually the best screw out there, because it’s very hard to strip.
Did you check to see if you have a steering stabilizer on the front end of the Mercedes? Besides good tires the stabilizer made all the difference in the world on our class A.
Is that not even an Allen wrench patern for the cupboard The curtains you could buy some lexel caulking glue and glue on a drawstring assembly that matches the material or another matching strap The plumbing, the more you familiarized you can design an after market flush valve Just after this vid is another of the ford version the selling point is the tire pressure monitoring system on the drivers dash, I agree about monitoring the temp and pressure of the tires however it happens
Wow for a minute when I read the header I thought oh no is this another video about the frame collapsing or the ceiling sagging, walls falling down, man that stuff in nothing!
Did you check the on/off switch on the shower head? None of your problems seem like real RV problems. When your slide-out gets stuck out while camping...that's a real problem. The TP holder is a simple set screw that needs loc-tite. Otherwise, it looks like a nice rig.
So... on the off chance that was your first time attempting to shower, the shower head should have an on/off switch to control the water flow. It might be one of those that allows you to heat he water first to reduce consumption. Check ua-cam.com/video/iqYl0kNsQRg/v-deo.html at the 18:15 mark
It would be awesome if you could do a couple videos on what's the different models on Newmar and Tiffin. Like what's the difference between models. Does that make sense?
The screws are called hex screws.if you go on Amazon you can buy hex driver kits. In England they are about £10 and you can fit the kit in the glove box.The shower would be an easy fix
Always put Michelin tires on any Mercedes-Benz. They just don't drive right on anything else. If that fresh tank runs dry, will the pump shut off automatically, or will it run till it burns up?
We both need Class A decent rigs. I tried getting this little thing I had to many issues to list. The Ford transit I like not the conversion it’s falling apart 2 years 24,000. Miles

Seems very strange that you had to waste $1,400 on Michelin tires when your Continentals were brand new. What a scam. I hope that you got your money back on that first set of tires, Andrew?
I have a car ( not an rv). Had the same problem. All you have to do is to take tires out, them put them back on... rotate tire 180 degrees while they are completely deflated. and that fixed the problem. One of the tires for whatever reason was not sitting properly. Just saying. This has worked many times. On different tires. But Im not a Mercedes expert. Just my 2 cents.

I'm so glad I found YT Channel blocker! No more having to constantly see channel recommendations from makers of fake-problem videos!
Toilet Paper Holder is a deal breaker for me. For that reason, I'M OUT. 😅, Thanks for the video. I learned a lot.
Great that you share the Problems too .. You do a great job with all your videos #RVingWithAndrewSteeleRocks
You’re very lucky to be as connected as you are. Not everyone is so blessed.
I have a lot to the thankful for
So... on the off chance that was your first time attempting to shower, the shower head should have an on/off switch to control the water flow. It might be one of those that allows you to heat he water first to reduce consumption.

Yes it has one but that was not the fix
Great tips Andrew
Its a Robertson screw. Best type of screw invented in Canada. comes in 3 or 4 sizes.
I am surprised you didn't call the company that has a sign up for any issues to call on any issues with your camper.
Love him or hate him folks, Andrew will tell you how it is. Nice to find blind honesty, thx
love your channel!!
Always put Michelin tires on any Mercedes-Benz. They just don't drive right on anything else.
If that fresh tank runs dry, will the pump shut off automatically, or will it run till it burns up?
Is the showerhead switched off? It might have a water conservation switch on it to save water while one is lathering up.
watch the video on James channel az expert explaining the repairs
Thank you Andrew
Pellet, water softner, please explain ????? Watched 100's of videos first time hearing about water softner pellets.

Maybe some lock-tight on that little screw in the toilet paper holder would help it stay put.
Andrew that screw is # 2 robertson you guys don't have that down there but we have that screw driver up here in Canada its very common problem
Great tips!
Great video. Michelin should hook you up with free tires because you probably just sold a few thousand for them!
I really enjoyed your video. 👍🏼⭐️
Greetings from Albania. 👋🏼🇦🇱
Awesome! Thank you!
Seems very strange that you had to waste $1,400 on Michelin tires when your Continentals were brand new. What a scam. I hope that you got your money back on that first set of tires, Andrew?
They were on the LTV before he purchased the RV.
@@gandul1234 That makes sense. How could that brand be incompatible? It’s not as if they’re a no name label.
I watched your video about traveling from Scottsdale to Florida and how much it cost in desil But you should’ve pointed out more major landmarks and bridges on your trip so I could recognize where you were at and also I was looking forward to you posting video of the restaurant and bar at your final destination which you did not do
