Yes, we have been there several times over the years. We did take our first trip in the unit in the summer. We went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for about three weeks. It was great scenery and food, and we escaped the summer heat in Florida!! This summer (starting mid-May) we will be doing a three month round trip trek to Alaska.
@DJTravels I would love to go to Michigan to play golf. You should throw your clubs in that RV also. Get a couple rounds in. I'm happy for you guys. You are definitely an inspiration. Alaska will be epic!
Totally agree so far! We only had one thing not work correctly on our shakedown trip. One drawer does not stay closed while driving. We will get it fixed, but for now, we just Velcro the handle to the handle of the drawer above!
We have only taken it out twice (Michigan and a two nighter in Florida) but we are pleased with the purchase. Going up to NC next week for Thanksgiving and will be boondocking at Cracker Barrel or the GA welcome center and then moochdocking in her brother's drive way for a couple of nights. Stay tuned for that journey!
Thank you so much for sharing. I'm new to your channel. It's wonderful to see people that are my age and look like me. I look forward to your next video.
Congratualtions! What an amazing way to travel. Wishing you many, many wonderful, safe miles of travel ahead. Looking forward to some awesome videos. So happy for you both 💞
We are waiting to pick up this (almost) exact model from Holland Mi! They have a 2 day tech/orientation where you spend the night in your coach to fully go thru all the components. Since we’re newbies we will need this! Safe travels - see you on the road!
Very cool! We should be up in Michigan sometime around the end of July. We have not decided whether to come down from the UP via the western side of MI or the eastern side of WI.
Wow, 10K over MSRP, like the MSRP isn’t a rip off enough ! I wanted a certain van at the beginning of Covid, I think it was 5 K up front, a year and a half wait but the best part was “ we can’t guarantee a price “ which meant the price was definitely going to be higher but we don’t know by how much ! Just ridiculous all the way around. I hope your unity was worth it, I know the resale should be better than many other rigs out there
Definitely a hard pill to swallow, but we don’t regret it so far! Definitely much better made than our last rig and truck combo. We had problems with those from the start. Just competed a 4600 mile shakedown trip, and the worst problem is one drawer that doesn’t stay closed while driving. Probably needs an adjustment to the soft close mechanism.
yeah it does suck for the people that ordered one and waited. Only for a market adjustment to raise the price many thousands of dollars. Not knocking this buyer though.
Thanks for another great video! Curious if you also looked at larger RVs to get a separate bedroom? Do you plan to tow another vehicle for getting around while you camp?
If you look at our videos from way back 7 years ago, you will see that we traveled the country in a much larger RV. There are advantages to the larger space, but the downside is loss of spontaneity. With a smaller vehicle you can get into a lot of national and state parks, stop at more places on the side of the road at the spur of the moment and simply be more nimble. I will do a video segment about our thought process in choosing a class B+ in a future video. Two Vehicle....we don't know. We are going to travel without one for the next year to gauge the need. If we need one, we will find a use Honda CRV or something similar.
My wife and I sold our UTB because of the shower. We have the Unity MBL on order because I think the shower looks much more usable. Can you actually get a decent shower?
Yes, that is one of the reasons we chose the MBL. We are not big people, and we have lots of elbow room while bathing. If you don't mind me asking, what percentage of your purchase value did you recoup when you sold? After we put three years in this one, we want to upgrade to the newer version with the bigger battery capacity, and all inverted outlets.
Those canceled orders happen because the buyer had to wait for three to four years. By time the rig arrived... the price adjusted, 30 t0 40 thousand dollars higher. Just sayin.
Murphy bed is for us. Takes about 3 minutes to put down or up. Thought it would be a pain in the butt, but it is very easy. We will be putting out a tour in a few weeks.
We have some appointments in Ocala and Gainesville over the next two weeks, then we will be heading to Michigan, up across the UP, and then down through Wisconsin. Floridas heat has been really oppressive this summer!
I've been looking at a lot of RV channels lately as I may be interested. Came across your channel this evening. As soon as you said Ocala...I was like what?? Click on my account name and you will see I'm here in Ocala as well. Hope to run into you some time. I would LOVE to see that RV in person. It is absolutely beautiful. I'll be watching your travels.
@@sherrisells352 hello neighbor!!! If you really want to see it, we will have it in our driveway on Saturday, to stock it up. Shoot me an email to darensdumpbox@gmail.com, and we can arrange for a visit.
Congrats on your new adventure!🎉 But I won't be watching. Not my idea of fun. I already watched Kara & Nate and Eamon & Bec traverse the US, so I've seen enough. Safe travels to you!❤from🇨🇦
congrats on the rv, it's very nice
We’re very excited to have it, thanks!
@@DJTravels Where are going to going to travel first outside of Florida? I would recommend Charleston SC. Great food and its a beautiful city.

Johnetta will be doing a “Carry On Only for Women” video prior to our African continent trip.
Great video! - love Unity, think they are the best and worth the money!

Congratulations on your nice RV. Hope that you’ll have some interesting adventures together! Make the most of it!
That's the plan! We hope to intersperse RV travel with other travel on the channel in the future.
Great video. I was excited for you. That RV is the one I wanted. Hopefully see you down the road.
Look for our shakedown trip vlog starting this Sunday!

Thanks. Still going to cruise. Just adding a new tool to our travel toolbox!!

Nice, how many miles per gallon?
On the trip detailed in further videos (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), we averaged a little over 18mpg. I thought that was pretty good!!
Hello fellow Ocala
Howdy neighbor!!
Those canceled orders happen because the buyer had to wait for three to four years. By time the rig arrived... the price adjusted, 30 t0 40 thousand dollars higher. Just sayin.
Yeh, we heard about that. Another reason why we just went ahead and paid the premium.
Is the Murphy bed for you two to be set up every night or for guests?
Murphy bed is for us. Takes about 3 minutes to put down or up. Thought it would be a pain in the butt, but it is very easy. We will be putting out a tour in a few weeks.

What was the name of the dealership?
Gerzenys RV World

Next year. Our kids live in San Francisco, and we will be stopping to see them on our way back from Alaska.

I'll keep watching because it's you, but RVing is NOT something I'm at ALL interested in...🤣❤🇨🇦
The RV is just another method for getting to places. We will still be going to Africa in September and cruising the Panama Canal over the holidays.
$10k over msrp 😢. Even with an LTV, you’re never recouping that
Probably not! But, we wanted to get in as quickly as possibly. To us it is just a sunk cost.

I understand
Sorry but that price gouging was criminal!!!!
Yes, was a bit much. But we also got the unit two years earlier than if we waited in the queue. Time can be more valuable than money!
