I've never been so scared in my life as I was the first time I heard that scream. A friend and I were on an old bridge in the middle of nowhere one night and got stuck, and a couple of those things started doing that. I swear if I had a button that would have beamed me to another planet, even if I knew I couldn’t come back, I would have pressed it.😂

I have heard them SCREAM like a young woman being stabbed in a horror movie. It literally scared me so bad I called the cops to check the woods behind my house for a murder scene and they came out with hounds and came back and said it must've been a bobcat because the dogs didn't signal a human scent

I had just gotten home around 9pm and pulled into our driveway. Opened the door and heard this noise. I thought some woman was being murdered somewhere nearby! My heart dropped! I shut the doors, locked them, and stayed in the car a few minutes more before I worked up the courage to bolt inside the house. Sooo creepy!
I had the same reaction in May when it was in my yard at night. I have MS and don't run but trust me... I RAN. My blood turned to ice. Never felt so afraid in my life and did not have a clue what it was. I just had to get away NOW!

40 years ago my dad and I were tracking a deer I had arrowed on Bois Blanc Island on a dead calm night. We were deep in a cedar forest when all of the sudden we heard a woman screaming like in a horror movie. When it stopped you could hear the echo continue through the trees. It was the most terrifying thing I had ever heard. All I could think of is; why would someone take a woman this far out into the woods to kill? When I looked at my dad ( a man who is afraid of nothing) it was the first time I had ever seen fear on his face. After about a minute of neither one of us twitching a muscle, he said "must be a bobcat." Finally, today, after all these years I believe he was right!

I just went out to walk my dog and heard one of these screaming in the woods less than 100 feet away. Scared he crap out of me. Between that and the coyote I almost hit in the parking lot three days ago I am not walking the dog in the dark again without a gun.

All the different sounds are so crazy. That deep one is terrifying! Sounds like a demonic thing. When I see these creepy videos of people hearing some guy or woman in the woods somewhere crying or screaming I usually think, “that’s a cat of some sort.” Bobcat, cougar, lynx..they all make crazy sounds.

I have been hearing them every night for a few weeks. It's so loud it gets the coyotes howling and the dogs barking. I thought we had a Sasquatch in the desert. I have seen Bobcats pretty regularly but I never heard them until recently. I probably did hear them but didn't know what it was. I didn't think any animal could sound creepier than a coyote but the Bobcats really do scream and it sounds almost human sometimes.

Heard these sounds this morning about 4 am when my dogs had to go outside to pee... freaky for sure! My husband thought he’d heard cats fighting. The sound was way too big sounding.... we live in town! Troy, Alabama. I grew up in the country so these were familiar sounds to me. But hearing them in a neighborhood was a hair raising experience. Today I purchased a dog leash and the pets will be on it when we go outdoors at night from now on!

the "woman's scream" is fucking brutal. parents house growing up had bobcats all over the place but there was this certain one i could tell apart from the rest, it's vocal range was super high pitched. first time i heard it was super late laying in bed with the window open summer's night, it scared the ever living fuck out me. that window wasn't more than 20 feet from the tree line i couldn't tell how deep in the woods in it was, had be edge the woods or even in the yard but it's scream was blood chilling, literally sounded like a woman was being murdered. was researching bobcat stuff and was like "oh i haven't heard bobcat sounds in long time, let me youtube it", lmao what a stupid idea.
Thanks for sharing. I think I've heard one in my yard, but there are tons of critters. It could be: owl, coyote, fox, raccoon or even black bear. White-tailed deer are silent; you see them first.
@@Armistead_MacSkye once you've heard animals vocals, it would hard to mistake one for another, distance and location factor in but again once you hear them a few different times you'll know. sorta like learning a new word in language you don't know, once you it few times and "learn it" you can't really mistake for other words you do know. youtube those animals you're curious about it'll help.

This is so fascinating, and helpful. We live deep in the forest in Florida and we often hear weird noises at night that we can't determine the source of. Seems like a lot of those sounds are likely to be bobcats. We definitely have plenty of bobcats around here and I recognize some of these sounds on this video. Thanks for sharing

Screech owls sound very similar - hard to distinguish, but if you have any trail cams or infrared cameras you might see a Bobcat on there.

I heard blood curdling screams from the woods out in the country northeastern Ct, was told could be a cougar, a owl, a fisher cat, or a rabbit being eaten. I had never heard this growl of a bobcat, but it is what my brother described he heard last night outside his window. I’m glad I heard it here first.

Florida Panthers have a similar scream especially at night. I felt the Panther had more of a screaming sound.

Just heard this the other night in my Hammock. Was backpack camping and hours away from the vehicle I took there. Needless to say I had a hard time going back to sleep.
My parents lived in the Adirondack Mountains and I will never forget the terror we felt when we heard the screams of bobcats at night. Made our hand stand on end as we sat out on their back porch. My kids still get goosebumps when we remember those spooky nights.

I just heard one down in the pine woods behind our house. I had gone outside to bring our dog inside for the night (from his large fenced in play area beside the house). I was terrified but my dog was raring to go chase it. I shined my flashlight down in the woods and sure enough a yellow-green eye shined back at me. I was walking through the woods to find some dry firewood, due to the fact that it had rained earlier and we were out of fire. I stopped in my tracks when I heard screams similar to my friends'. But then it doubled. I quickly returned to camp to see that my friend was yelling back at a bobcat about 100 ft away.

Have been hearing these sounds outside my house from dust on sense March, looked into the sound and breeding seasons. Seems I have a bobcat/lynx litter somewhere on the hill next to my house and they’ve been coming down to eat my neighbors chickens
They will eat small dogs and cats as well. They are not afraid to jump fences and walls and steal your pooch right in front of you. Once I was driving down my street and one ran across the road in front of my car. When I slowed down thinking it was a dog, it turned around and hissed at me and it was the size of a large dog. It was not afraid of me or the car. They are not sweet little kitties, they are viscous creatures and I don't think they would hesitate to attack a human who got too close to their litter. But I don't think they would dine on humans unless they were already dead. My little dog is scared of the screaming and hides under the bed but the pit bull will go after them if he can get out the door.

When I was around 12 or 13 I lived outside a very tiny town in Indiana and late at night you could hear those screams across the fields where there was some woods. It was a very scary sound since we had no idea what it was, but someone finally said it was a bobcat, but we never knew for sure, until now. It had everyone in the area spooked.
I had a domestic cat who mated with a wild bobcat! I kept the biggest kitten he was a complete marshmallow. The bob cat would come into the backyard all the time to see his wife. After we had mama fixed he quit coming.
