The solution is simple build a youth league and make kids play football from young age and cap the salary limit to Indian players and divert those funds into good coaching and training facilities for youth players!! Our group has been far more difficult time to be sure. We won against Thailand in 2019 but we had to play likes of Uzbekistan and Australia this time. Let Stimac stay till round 2 of WC qualifiers to finish, then let's definitely revaluate whether to continue association with him. But tbh, having physical strength is as important as having mental strength. Or just one shoulder oush is enough to get laid on the ground. The player's need to have a firm stand on the ground to deal with opposition & for that they need to have heavy strength/fitness/endurance training. To have a tactical mindset like player's that you've mentioned, it'll take time, much time to get developed in our system but talking about the physical appearance, a year hard workout with proper diet would get you much better results.

There are no grassroot level initiatives to even scout young players in this country.

When ISL started I thought there is some hope but the standard of that league has been plummeting ever since it launched. 90% of the matches in that league is played in empty stadiums.

For India to have any chances in competing against good teams ,we have to start from the bottom.
We need accademies and training facilities.
We need coaches and support staffs.
We need our authorities to prioritise football in some capacity.
Above all ,we need fans.
In cricket we will win paytm trophies and in football we will win SAFF CHAMPIONSHIP

We qualified into Asian games only in 2011 and 2019 before this event so the norm for us has been to fail to qualify itself so chill, there has been no sudden decline. Our group has been far more difficult time to be sure. We won against Thailand in 2019 but we had to play likes of Uzbekistan and Australia this time. Let Stimac stay till round 2 of WC qualifiers to finish, then let's definitely revaluate whether to continue association with him. This isn't the time to disturb team memento to address our frustration.

This time we got a really very hard group and we would have been hammered in such a group in the past, period. We lost 0-4 to Australia in 2011 while this time it was 0-2. Todays Australia is a far far better side than 2011. They lost to Argentina in a very close match last year. BTW even in 2011 we didn't win any match and GD was -10 that was -6 this time. So not sure how have we not improved?
In 2019, we won only against Thailand and this time we had no easy team in our group. Against Syria, we should had played better for sure.

AIFF killed football in India by not participating in any FIFA qualfier ntil 1986 and by then football was finished. Even after no serious efforts were made until beginning of ISL. But tbh, having physical strength is as important as having mental strength. Or just one shoulder oush is enough to get laid on the ground. The player's need to have a firm stand on the ground to deal with opposition & for that they need to have heavy strength/fitness/endurance training. To have a tactical mindset like player's that you've mentioned, it'll take time, much time to get developed in our system but talking about the physical appearance, a year hard workout with proper diet would get you much better results.
