We always point out cricket for the downfall of football culture in india, but we have to understand that back in 1983 nobody supported the Indian cricket team and were lacking financial conditions but they fought for it and won the world cup and today we know the results. AIFF and the players are responsible.

Right now I am 15 years old and I have a dream of becoming an Indian football player and lift the FIFA trophy . But idk why , looking at our situation , society , parents and teachers as well as football authorities , it just seems like a path where idk whether i can fulfill my dream or not . I'm not very knowledgeable in this regard but as far as I know by now you should have gone through some selection process or played state level or something. This is what I've seen in other countries. There if someone's dream of becoming a football starts at 17 that is after 15 then there's no scope because you are considered old. I mean not only in this sport but even in cricket you need to realise this dream at a very young age. when you are already a child your training starts. And in your teens you start playing. I may be wrong though

Being a Bengali myself, I am still saying this. In order for football to go somewhere in the next 10 years in India you need to take the control of football away from the clutches of Bengal. Everything in Bengal runs on dirty politics and crime money. Along with it you need businessmen and footballers to run football not politicians.
I applied for Basketball for the National team but it's a struggle. Since the coach was from Punjab back then, he only selected biased players. This is all politics, nothing will happen if the officials are all corrupted and biased. you can't expect anything unless they are doing research to find good players who aren't lazy.

🙏As a National pleyerfrom Jnv school tournaments this is fkin true. 🤷We Himachal boys won the regional level Games and 4 out of 5 players were Punjabis for national games playing 5 (They were good enough though but the team chemistry was nill) maybe it was bcoz of physicality but it was biased af coz coach and venue we trained was Punjab.Also They were quite aggresive hotheads.

I worked for 3 months for a renowned club. I left that job. Horrifying inter club condition. I won't mention the name of the club but 90% of the people related to management of Indian football doesn't have passion for football. That's the start. The amount of toxicity, dullness, lack of professionalism, horrible horrible behaviour. Trust me i have been to some renowned grassroot academy. They are good. They have better infrastructure than most top clubs. Management vs sponsors vs the head manager of the team quarrel with each other on starting 11, before match day. That's just the icing on the cake. It goes way way deeper. Uncle logo ki soch aur unke stubbornness desh ko duba diya. Younger generation ko bhi duba diya.
AIFF is a shit housery,Fifa should ban it and a new governing body is required for growth of football in the World's most populous nation
