- Collective Soul performs Why Part II on the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Craig is also kinda creepy at the begining.
The second video I've found where the person posting doesn't know the difference between Vent and Why Pt II.
Wish they could just reconcile their differences and get the original band back together.Ed and Ross were great together and Shane fits better with the band than the other 3 drummers after him.
Maybe if Ross hadn't banged Ed's wife...
Krystal Marra Johnny Rabb is great, but I prefer Shane. Doubt he comes back, but there's a better chance than Ross coming back, as much as it pains me to say it.

Shane........maybe. But Ed will never forgive Ross, let alone bring him back. Almost 20 years after the fact, Ed still rants about him on stage. If he hasn't moved past it by now, it's not happening. And it's very hard to fault Ed for that.
@@danielhartin7680 - I understand your last sentence. However, my daughter and I were going to buy tickets for their 25th anniversary tour. But after watching some of his public temperature tantrums, he and his brother (does he really play guitar or is his main function in the band to pose to the audience?) are not worth the cost of two tickets. They have been running on fumes since 2006.
Daniel Hartin Forget about Ed forgiving Ross, he won’t even say his name. Ross is dead to Ed I’m afraid. He’s never coming back. It’s been almost 20 years since Ross left. Time flies. I still remember finding out about it on the official CS website back in 2001. I’d honestly be surprised if we ever see another lineup change. I kind of hope not. I’m tired of the revolving door of guys coming in and out of the band. We can still appreciate old videos like this with the original lineup, but forget about a reunion with Ross and Shane. It’s not happening.

I remember seeing the album cover for this and thinking the same thing back then.. just gives off an Nsync/backstreet boys vibe look. Any idea what was going on with their "image" look during this time?
@@ColorsBright Collective Soul blamed their label for this image/marketing fail, especially the album cover. However, Ed Roland was in 80s Hair bands and New Wave bands for a decade and sported an extremely poppy look. You can find his pre-Collective Soul look and music online. Then in the early 90s, Grunge hit the scene and all bands had to look Grunge. Collective Soul popped in 93/94 when Grunge was in full swing, so they followed the trend, but were never really part of that sub-genre. Fash forward to 2000 and Grunge is dead, but boy bands are in full swing with leather and frosty-tip hair. Also, Ed is in his late 30s, which is "old" for a Rock star, so maybe producers were pushing him to look youthful. But, Ed always liked Elton John's flashy style. I think their image rebranding could've worked if it wasn't so over-the-top Pop. Their Dosage look was the best with their genre blending styles of Heavy Rock, Alt Rock, Southern Rock, and Pop Rock.

wish they played this song at their concerts. but I don't think Jesse what's his face could pull off that solo.
I've seen live vids of this song with Jesse......he just plays the solo as straight picking, no tapping.

Dude GIVE UP. Ross is not coming back. Fuck that fucking idiot. Jesse is just as talented but in a different way. RESPECT him. I doubt you could play guitar for Collective Soul like Jesse does. So shut the fuck up. Ross put on some KILLER solos, but it's time to move on. You're not a fan of Collective Soul if you can't support the band though something as major as a band member change. How do you think Ed feels to have his wife cheat on him with his own best friend? Seriously dude have some compassion and understand Ross does NOT DESERVE to come back. EVER.
Go watch Ross's solo stuff and follow him if you love him so much, but get far, far away from Collective Soul with that attitude of yours.

Ross has a band TWO BROKE KINGS now. His sound is awesome. Collective Soul doesn't sound near as good without him..but I get to enjoy his music at THE BANK STREET CAFE in beautiful Griffin Ga.

MrDeppness at least you can hear Dean in this one. If you watch their performance of Why pt2 on Leno from around the same time, you can't hear him at all.
