This would have to be the best instructional feeder video I have ever seen. Jamie, keep up the good work. I'm a fan from down under and a lot of this is very new to the way we fish.
Another cracking video with usual great quality Jamie, very informative, packed with lots of little titbits. I'd really love to see you do a video (here or Matrix) on setting up from start to finish, and why you set up the way you would on feeder, float, pole, and on different venues. There aren't any videos on UA-cam that have covered this and I know a lot of people struggle, especially when there's so much you can put on your box now.
Great tip too, a pole sock set horizontal makes an amazing cup holder! No more stainless coffee mugs or flasks lost to the river or lake!
Nice idea that mate I'll add it to the list thanks again for watching mate!
Hi , what a great video to watch, I have never done feeder fishing at all . But just by watching your video I think I will give it a go , I have always done float or ledger fishing. It gives me something else to try out , keep up the great work and are doing and have a good season 👍 from colin bradford in Milton Keynes. 👏
Very informative video Jamie and such an easy watch with showing everyone exactly what you are doing. Keep em coming. Tight Lines Steve Amison
Thanks Steve mate and thanks again for the continued support. Have a great weekend mate :)
thank you jamie . love the video . been fishing 12 months now . learnt so much watching your fishing . think a coaching day is on the agenda . if your available sometime ...
Thanks for watching Patrick and I'm glad your enjoying the fishing! No problem mate, just email me and I can send you a list of available dates if you wish jamieaharrison@hotmail.co.uk thanks again mate :)
Beautiful place to fish Congratulations, it reminds me here in *Brazil* where I do my Fisheries.
Hugs and good fishing.👍🎣
Thank you! Do you have fisheries like this is Brazil? With Carp in them?
Another brilliant video Jamie, for those who don't fish much or are unsure about the method this is perfect with everything explained, A couple of things I do differently is use a bait runner to stop violent takes smashing me up and I occasionally use a flying back lead or hollow lead leader to pin it down I hate using leads to pin it down as it can make a weak spot,
Keep up the great videos Jamie👍👍👍👍👍
Another fab masterclass Jamie as usual always something to learn thanks for sharing
Thanks Jeff and thanks again for watching mate!
Brilliant Jamie very informative knowledge on method feeders and other tips and hints . brilliant viewing. tight lines fella,
thanks for another great video Jamie learn so much from them.keep up the good work.many thanks
Great video buddy love that venue, love places with a mix of fish, really interesting hints and tips about the method feeder
Thanks for watching Bish mate!
To keep it simple, excellent and thank you.
Sunbathing with Jamie. Another great episode buddy.
Haha yeah it was a lovely day mate thanks for watching again Steve!
Good video that pal. Nice one👍👍
Another great video keep um coming
Very good video 👍
Thanks Paul mate!
Great video Jamie, well done mate :)
Thanks Tibor mate! :)
Great Video Jamie Top Info Thanks
Thanks Gary mate!
Very good vid. Must say, things have certainly moved on from when i started fishing. I started at age 14, now 66; don’t normally like new fandangle things, but i have bought the ics range, have had some good days, very similar to the ones you use. Just use wetted pellets and hook bait, simples😀
Yeah things have certainly moved on over the last few years haven't they mate!
Thanks for the info and teaching my mates at sherwood 👍👍
No problem mate!
Cheers for the video mate, Well executed and not complicated to understand off fishing tomorrow in Cornwall so will put all your tips into practice and hopefully whoop my dad and mates.
Excellent video once again
Thanks Mark much appreciated mate!
Hi Jamie another great video thanks. Can I ask what feeder arm you are using please! It looks very sturdy. Me thinks me wants one. 👍
nice one Jamie
Thanks mate!
Can you do video on when and why to use a method vs a cage?
Great equalizer.,takes a lot of skill out of fishing,it was at one time banned on all waters but money talks both for the fisheries and tackle manafacturers, but each to their own ,I know many of the old school hate it.
Yeah I know what you mean mate. Loads hate it and I hear of people staying away from certain venues because they don't want to fish it. Your right, each to their own. Thanks for watching mate!
Never really sure if the pellets stay on the method feeder. Mark Pollard and a diver did a video showing them coming off at the surface.
Why do you not make you pellets up and seal them instead of letting them dry up and adding extra water diluting them more? Excellent vids!!
Thanks mate! It's just so it's quicker and easier, I'm usually in a match situation so the simpler the better if that makes sense mate?
I darnt clip up on the reel I have had takes on the drop can you do a video on cage feeder fishing ?
Hello Jamie, can you tell me what tip you use for XS Slim, whether it's 1.5 oz from the XS series.
Hi Jamie. I'm one of the old school and don't fish commercials, but your video has inspired me to have a crack on the method feeder for bream and skimmers. Would you clip up? Well explained and demonstrated coverage of the method, Thanks Mate. Andy James
Thanks Andy and thanks for watching! Yes always prefer to clip-up mate. Let me know how you get on!
Great video Jamie what the venue your fishing there looks great.are you clipped up on your reel ?
Thanks Stephen mate! Yes I was fishing clipped and it's called Sherwood Forest Farm Park Fishery mate here's the link www.sherwoodfishery.co.uk
Hi Jamie great video as always I notice you been using a ridge feeder arm instead a normal extended feeder arm are there many advantages to using a ridge arm or is it just your preference mate all the best jamie
Thanks Matthew mate and thanks for watching! I only use the longer arm when I'm fishing a 12'+ rod mate or if I'm on a river. It just gives extra stability with a longer rod especially if it's windy. But when I'm only fishing with 11' rods the shorter rigid one is perfect mate. Hope that makes sense?
Brilliant mate thank you Jamie
I do most my fishing on the Trent around the Newark area would love to see you do a video on the Trent if that would be possible in the future Jamie
Always when throwing the hook you put it in method feeder, Closed from the ground??
Yes mate :)
See you back-winding Jamie, what are the clutches like on the Matrix reels?
Yeah I'm a bit old school lol! The clutches are good mate, I use the clutch when fishing at close range but I just prefer to play the fish on the back wind mate, always been the same since being a kid lol
New to fishing this year and only been feeder fishing a month or 2, is it effective in the heat? Saturday is meant to be 29 degrees and I fish in ponds with a fair amount of carp and silver fish (from Scunthorpe I think you’re fairly close)
Oh nice one mate welcome to feeder flinging! To be honest, no lol usually when it's red hot the fish will be cruising around on the top mate so early morning and later in the afternoon can be best mate
Curious why you play the fish with the reel on backwind instead of using the clutch ? some great tips Mr thanks
It's just personal preference mate but when I'm fishing really close in I have the drag set mate
@@CatchFishingChannel ah ok thanks.
Those pre-tied Matrix method hair rigs are made with some awful line. It's 0.20 line which should be around 7lb, I tried 3 from a pack I bought, 1 snapped under hardly any strain and lost the fish, both the other 2 managed to land the fish but then snapped, weighed each Bream and neither was even over 3lb.
Buy good hooks, line that you can test and verify the strength of, then tie the rigs yourself.
Do you ever put a method short in Ireland I'm from Ireland and know it works when the fish are on it 😀
No mate I've never done that! What species of fish do you catch on it mate?
Hybrids roach perch the odd bream I do a lot of my fishing on the erne
@@tuckert9447 Oh right! I've always wondered what the Method would be like on there mate
Does I matter what type of feeder you use, eg 50g feeder on a 50g rod, I mean for loading the rod, is it easier to break a tip with a lighter feeder than heavier because the rods not loading, but the tip is?
Which pond was this mate?
What like are you fishing on cavendish?
What hook link would you recommend for carp 4 to 8 lb +.I tested my method feed with a 8lb hook link and it always flips the hook and bait out of the method .
Hi Sme sme I use a 8lb(0.21mm) main line with a 5.5lb(0.17mm) hooklength. As long as you play the fish right and don't bully it too much shouldn't have any issues :D
@@MrEREDIT thanks will get some
When I feeder fish. The fish always pulls my rod off the rest lol. Has this happened to anyone else
Haha yeah I bet it's happened to everyone at some stage hasn't it mate lol!
Yup lost my rod and reel last year, all I did was took my eye off the rod for a few seconds while finishing my can of pop, was so quick :-(
Chris Girling get yourself a back-rest that grips the butt of your rod, as mentioned in the video, there's a few companies that make them, they're cheap and effective, I'd recommend the rock steady back rest by bank bugs, it's a different design to most others and not as cheap as some but a great piece of kit. I often fish TWO method feeder rods together and sometimes I've been playing a fish on one rod and got a run on the other, but if the second rod is firmly secured by the back rest I can just get on with landing the first fish before picking up the second rod, hopefully with the fish still on the line
Why does this video have so few views!!!???!!! Matrix need to help with your promotion because you should have much more views, surely if you are fishing with them they should be helping promote! really great video.
It was only uploaded yesterday about 5pm mate but thanks for watching it and glad you enjoyed it, there are loads more coming on this channel like this mate :)
