Finally part two, well worth the wait. Look like a challenging hike especially finishing in the dark. You guys are fun to watch thanks for sharing, love the dog
Hey guys and Denali I really liked watching your video Sara is a good sport and stuck by your side for the trip. She was smiling a little to much there John you will be needing an easier trail soon so you guys can push a baby stroller in the woods. Have a great weekend.
Perfect timing on that upload! Me and a couple others just got back from a trip in the Linville Gorge Wilderness. It was my first fall trip, and we got some good hiking in there. We also had a bear visit our campsite in the middle of the night!
We stayed around Table Rock and just did big hikes around there while using one base camp, as usual. I'm not a backpacker (yet). No snakes, I did see one down at the river on my trip last year. But that bear came through our site looking for food, and my brother scared it off with a whistle. Funny how that didn't happen once while we were in the Rockies - grizzly country, but happened in NC!
See I always tent camp with the dogs (I have 2). I tried hammocking and brought a small tent for the dogs. Just not viable with two puppies (150 pounds of dogs). In the ADK I noticed they were not fans of trails and switchbacks. They ran trails straight up reentrants (natural downhill crease that water drains in). Made for steep and rough hiking.
I hiked here in 2016 and I remember that awful mud pit at 17ish minutes in. I took a wrong step and went in to my mid shin 😳. Really love the hike up to Dix and views you get along the ascent and up at the top, but the miles are really tough
Those white stalked 'shrooms at 8:27 are called "Indian Pipes". Yeah, you need to plan for a long day and carry water, because once you get near the ridge, there aren't any water sources. Typical ADK trail...no smooth sailing once you hit the ascents/descents. Even the flatter trails are tricky sometimes. Packit Gourmet is great...Mountain House not so much. Alpine Aire, Good to Go, Mary Jane's Farm and Backpacker's Pantry are good too. Keep an eye on the sodium levels though.
I have some Olight handheld lights (T20 digital) and I love them. One fell out of my pocket when I was riding my motorcycle and it got run over by a car and it had a few scrapes on the body but was still functional. They make great stuff.
incredible views...i especially loved the shot from the drone ascending from your campsite to above the trees to see your position...really cool shots...thanks for taking us along guys!
Nice video. I hike in the ADKs all the time. Your bear canister is not the preferred one or perhaps even required one for the Dacks. The Bears will crush them. Be careful 👍🏻 and hike on!
We did this trail in one day and man the feeling afterwards was beyond explainable. Almost couldn't stay up, my body just wanted nothing but sleep. Didn't help that we got to a hotel 5 hours before leaving out to do the trail. Only had 2 hours of sleep for a 17+hour hike.
I feel like a late coming, 4years ago! Your Dog is awesome! Sarah’s diff a team player, not many wife will climb up there and Han through the muck lol I am equally as lucky, my bride goes mostly for me.
Nothing wrong with coming back to to the first camp site. You found a great location because Denali and Sara were there! and those Tucker people, maybe.
Thanks, Joe. We had a blast. I think we both came to the realization that we need to keep the Adirondacks in mind more often. I always picture them as being further away, but they're actually about 2 or hours closer to us than the Whites, Smokies, etc
Hey sintax! No disrespect to you or Sara but you are a very lucky man. She is a very beautiful woman with an amazing sense of humor. I love watching your videos over and over. Can't wait to see another video of you,Sara, Mike and, danielle.
We've been using those LED collars for years with our pups and they work great. Sort of look cheap, but they've taken a lot of abuse and water and still work! I want to try their integrated LED collar, but the velcro ones just won't die!
Oh, shoot - that's right. I was think of Lake George the _lake_ and not the town I guess. Which is like an hour further south of Hague or so? We stopped there for lunch on the way home. Fun, but definitely not as remote feeling as Hague.
I’m quite impressed with your video quality. You have come a long way over the years. I noticed you added droning into your clips too, how is that working out? You have always been enjoyable to watch. I dig your style and sense of humor. Oh and Sarah is a kook, I mean that in a good way 👍 Keep on adventuring and inspiring us viewers. P.S the Nali Quest was very cute and a unique idea. Reminded me of my old school video games, which I still have hahaha 😊
great video Sean, love the way you have integrated the use of a drone on your vids. suggestion and you might of all ready been given piece of useful information, and that would be the Kelty 12x12 tarp, we use this when my wife take the hammocks and or the grandkids
Great video. Thanks. Do you know if fires are NOK and bear canisters mandatory in the Dix for 2018? It is now designed part of the High Peaks region where those rules apply. Thx!
great 2-3 day trip - been looking for things like this, so will just follow in your footsteps - hope I find that same camp spot. Is it just past lillian brook lean-to? Neither my ADK map nor guide book show camping spots there. Tnx - And do you think the area is best for hammocks rather than tent?
What brand/style of pants is Sara wearing in this video? I am looking for a new pair and it looks like she gets a lot of range of motion in those and they look comfy as heck.
Think about it - for sure :) Having us both away for that long probably isn't realistic for us right now though. I think anyone who has the opportunity to do something like that should definitely go for it though!
I recommend them as well. Personally, I have to make the trade off for constant filming, but I think they're a valuable tool. I even suggest that Sara uses them, but I can't even get her to put her pack on straight so, one battle at a time I guess :)
Yeah trekking poles saved me, I'm 19 and after running down Algonquin in the Macintyre range of the adirondacks my knees never felt the same, I believe that without trekking poles my Dad an I would not have been able to traverse the great range in July of this year
You may want to check out the "Pet palace" by Cave Creek Hammocks. Smaller cottage vendor, he will work on customizing it to fit two hammocks and put in a zipper wherever you want, not to mention any other custom features you'd like. www.cavecreekhammock.com/item/pet-palace
sintax77 I was wondering if you've done anymore research on tarps for the side by side hammock lay out. I've been researching but undecisive. Almost ready to get a 12X12 tarp from Walmart and say forget it but I don't want to carry that much weight. Have you found anything yet?
The husband/wife/dog relationship on the trail was special here. Nice job guys.
Your dog is so awesome.....love that guy......vids are awesome but Nali makes them even better.....you guys are amazing owners.....!!!!!!
Want you both to know that was fun, Sarah is a real sport and so much fun to try to pick up on here little jokes, Take care, Dave.
Thanks, Dave - glad you enjoyed it :)
Really enjoyed watching this hike. Great job all around. The Adirondacks are an underrated gem.
Underrated by who?
@sintax77 I enjoy watching all the adventures. I really like the additional drone shots found in this particular video. 32:56
I love the Les Stroud shoutout. That was so great. xD
Awesome hike! Sara was amazing hiking with her guide dog! No whining from either, "out of food and water" in the dark! Best video to date!
Finally part two, well worth the wait. Look like a challenging hike especially finishing in the dark. You guys are fun to watch thanks for sharing, love the dog
OK the Nali Video game segment was hilarious.
Hey guys and Denali I really liked watching your video Sara is a good sport and stuck by your side for the trip. She was smiling a little to much there John you will be needing an easier trail soon so you guys can push a baby stroller in the woods. Have a great weekend.
Wow! That drone shot at the end!
Awesome video game sequence and sound! That was fun to see.
Sintax!!! Outstanding part 2 video!👍😀 How Sara ditched you at the end made me think about how my wife ditches me when I'm filming. lol
Wow. Great work with Denali on the climb up.
Love the hikes with Sassy Sara keep them coming.
Nice video! Did that hike a couple years back . Great views with the drone.
Outstanding video. You all make a good team. That was a lot of elevation change for sure. Thanks for sharing, Al & Sue
Another awesome video. Thanks for taking me along.
Perfect timing on that upload! Me and a couple others just got back from a trip in the Linville Gorge Wilderness. It was my first fall trip, and we got some good hiking in there. We also had a bear visit our campsite in the middle of the night!
Awesome! Congrats on your first fall trip. I would love to get back down there for that.
Any snakes? I did a short trip on the other side of Pisgah the first week on October. Trails are pretty packed off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Nice video and nice family.
Always enjoy your updates.
Great scenery as well.
The pack is fine...You two are a great couple. Thank you for the video.
awesome DenaliCam!!! let him do some more of your filming
See I always tent camp with the dogs (I have 2). I tried hammocking and brought a small tent for the dogs. Just not viable with two puppies (150 pounds of dogs). Stunning views. Awesome video
Y’all did a great job! Wore me out just watching! Awesome drone footage too!
DENALI 'S TOE NAILS WON'T HAVE TO BE CLIPPED BECAUSE OF THE ROCKS , BOLDERS , THE SCENERY IS AWESOME! BEAUTIFUL PICS & VIDEOS!
I have some Olight handheld lights (T20 digital) and I love them. One fell out of my pocket when I was riding my motorcycle and it got run over by a car and it had a few scrapes on the body but was still functional. They make great stuff.
Wow, glad to hear it survived! Yeah, I've come to really like their stuff over the years too.
i loves your videos you and your wife and dog sure have a lot of fun backpacking together you have good time together
Great video! Loved the challenges and that you brought Denali! Beautiful hike, loved the colors! Would like to see a cabin video too! Thank you!
Love my home state and the Adirondacks, great vid Sintax and family.
Great video been watching them before bed and then I stay up supper late but can't wait for the next one
incredible views...i especially loved the shot from the drone ascending from your campsite to above the trees to see your position...really cool shots...thanks for taking us along guys!
Like your video, its so relaxing I can watch while washing dishes
Great video. You should consider getting your pup some hiking shoes.
Loving the ADK video! Born and brought up there!!
Great trip you guys, thanks for sharing!
Really enjoyed this one!
again. great video!!!!
Nice video. I hike in the ADKs all the time. Your bear canister is not the preferred one or perhaps even required one for the Dacks. The Bears will crush them. Be careful 👍🏻 and hike on!
Aqua Quest has large light weight tarps. Nice footage as always good work..
Thanks, we'll check that out.
Hey Sintax77 Great video once again! cant wait for Ur next adventure
Gracias
You guys make great videos! Keep the adventures coming ;)
You pair are awesome, I love that walk although it was or looked very tuff
I feel like a late coming, 4years ago!
Your Dog is awesome!
Sarah’s diff a team player, not many wife will climb up there and Han through the muck lol
I am equally as lucky, my bride goes mostly for me.
Nothing wrong with coming back to to the first camp site. You found a great location because Denali and Sara were there! and those Tucker people, maybe.
Awesome as always!
Man..Thats some beautiful land.
I hope to one day find what you have
Nice video guys. I somehow missed this one first time around but it was worth the wait.
Thanks, Eddie. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video kids!!! Loved it, my back yard!!!
Thanks, Joe. We had a blast. I think we both came to the realization that we need to keep the Adirondacks in mind more often. I always picture them as being further away, but they're actually about 2 or hours closer to us than the Whites, Smokies, etc
Cool, I would like to meet you guys someday!! Good luck and stay safe hunting this year!!!
Lovely video, Denali, outstanding. Sarah really showed Girl power. Thank you. Uk Cheers
+derrick felix Thanks, Derrick. Those trails were a bit more agressive than I expected, but really fun overall.
Amazing views guys! You rock.
Fantastic video!

Those views were amazing!
Wish you'd show the cheeseburger.. lol
Thanks for the video
My wife grew up in that town where the Trout House is located. It is actually Hague, NY. Adirondacks are beautiful.
Oh, shoot - that's right. I was think of Lake George the _lake_ and not the town I guess. Which is like an hour further south of Hague or so? We stopped there for lunch on the way home. Fun, but definitely not as remote feeling as Hague.
sintax77 you are correct. Ticonderoga further North is the next "big" town. Beautiful area.
I’m quite impressed with your video quality. You have come a long way over the years. I noticed you added droning into your clips too, how is that working out? You have always been enjoyable to watch. I dig your style and sense of humor. Oh and Sarah is a kook, I mean that in a good way 👍 Keep on adventuring and inspiring us viewers. thank you Sara
I hope you do more trips in the ADKs - I thought you did a Great Range traverse, but didn't find a video from you on it.
great video bro ...i love your stuff
Jacks R Better sells big 10x12 and 11x12 tarps. I used one for my entire hike of the AT.
Based on the way those trails looked, I think y'all earned those cheeseburgers. Great video as always.
Thanks, Dwayne. Some of those ADK trails definitely give the Whites a run for their money.
Have you/have you ever thought of hiking the sawtooths in Idaho? They are amazing.
nice video
check out the monster fly tarp from mountain wilderness gear. 10x12 silnylon
22oz
Just filmed a video of wright and algonqiun peak we did a couple days ago :)
Maybe bring just one avocado to stretch the guacamole?! Add a lil hot sauce! Love you both so much!❤️❤️❤️
great video Sean, love the way you have integrated the use of a drone on your vids. suggestion and you might of all ready been given piece of useful information, and that would be the Kelty 12x12 tarp, we use this when my wife take the hammocks and or the grandkids
Great video. Thanks. Do you know if fires are NOK and bear canisters mandatory in the Dix for 2018? It is now designed part of the High Peaks region where those rules apply. Thx!
I've done that loop in the opposite direction , it was brutal going down.
at 18:38 what was all that hunter green stuff covering the rocks? Looks like cloth or carpet...
One omission....no quick clip of the cheeseburgers y'all inhaled. That should be reviewed, too, every time.
great 2-3 day trip - been looking for things like this, so will just follow in your footsteps - hope I find that same camp spot.
How tough are the herd paths to follow, if you were relying on map/compass? Thanks
Nice drone footage. Is that a 1st? I like it!
been waiting for this
I just watched Dixie ( Trail name ) Hike the whole PCT do you guys ever think about doing something major like that?
Think about it - for sure :) Having us both away for that long probably isn't realistic for us right now though. I think anyone who has the opportunity to do something like that should definitely go for it though!
I wanna do a night backcountry style in the Adirondack..Any suggestions where to do it?
For my money the mountainhouse Chicken & Dumplings is one of the best things in the world on the trail.
Nali Quest! Hahahah. Nice.
Great vedo thanks
Nali-quest!!
I've always been a big proponent of hiking sticks on the downhills... helps my knees and ankles tremendously. Mind you, I'm not carrying a camera.
I recommend them as well. Personally, I have to make the trade off for constant filming, but I think they're a valuable tool. I even suggest that Sara uses them, but I can't even get her to put her pack on straight so, one battle at a time I guess :)
Yeah trekking poles saved me, I'm 19 and after running down Algonquin in the Macintyre range of the adirondacks my knees never felt the same, I believe that without trekking poles my Dad an I would not have been able to traverse the great range in July of this year
Hah! Sarah's guacamole face, lol.

Awesome, thanks!
My girlfriend also runs away down the trail for those post hike meals lol
Have you ever discussed the lower leg tatt?
Kelty 12x12 should work for you. And the price is pretty good.
sintax77 I was wondering if you've done anymore research on tarps for the side by side hammock lay out. I've been researching but undecisive. Almost ready to get a 12X12 tarp from Walmart and say forget it but I don't want to carry that much weight. Have you found anything yet?
Warbonnet Superfly 11' x 10'. Highly recommended.
I have a dog about the same size, and what looks to be the same mix of breeds, as Denali. My question what saddle backpack do you use for him?
Not sure that i have ever noticed but do you ever use trekking poles on your hikes
I'm definitely a proponent of them, but personally I usually can't use them. It gets a bit hectic when combined with the constant filming, haha.
Good
Denali handled the Beckhorn like a champ. Too bad you couldn't do it twice to catch the footage! Just busting you. It ain't easy.
You may have had this question already, but what kind of dog is Denali? He seems very chill.
Nice overhead drone shot near the end of the video.
Crazy dog at 29:10
