    Thanks; this is great to learn. I was grasping for what the definitive term was for this kind of filigree besides just "scroll". I'm learning carving leather, was not finding enough references under Victorian, and went about a brief goose chase through baroque, renaissance, etc... so much always traces back to the Greeks, doesn't it? It's a serendipitous find since I'm studying Paul's (Saul of Tarsus) time in Corinth and listening to kithara and kinnor lyre music. Ever since I quite unexpectedly found God my life keeps trying to turn into this sort of motif.
