Your luggage will go through their security check machines. And you might just be asked what you're going to do where you are going. Nothing much really.

Bro pls can you elaborate me on the Visa fees, flight ticket cost , TB test cost and other expenses
Visa fees should be on the US Embassy website. (Google it out, it may change at anytime) I paid $160
Flight cost : www.expedia.com
TB test cost, I'm not sure cos it is not required for F1 visa.

Depends on the length of your program.
Africa to Netherlands to the USA. Is this the usual route?
Sometimes through Belgium
Depends on what airline you are using.
There are direct flights from Accra to USA. United Airlines is flying direct to Washington, and Delta to New York.
Other than that you can choose from multiple airlines, like Emirates via Dubai, KLM via Amsterdam, British Airways via London, Brussels Airlines via Brussels, Ethiopian via Addis Ababa, Qatar Airways via Doha, TAP Portugal via Lisbon, and others....

You pay for the ticket and select your seat on the website while booking. I didn't pay for the seat but just the ticket.
