We need more PCIe Powered GPUs tbh.
I think the new 4060 LP is like that
@infowarrior6644 sadly not, with a tdp of 115 it would still need a bit of extra juice.
@@King_K_Rool_ actually every rtx 40 series card reaches to a tdp of almost 110-115w so its literally the same thing even if nvidia marked it as tgp of 140w which shows in the nvidia control panel. for example the rtx 4060 in my acer predator helios neo 16 2023 laptop has 140w tgp but it reaches till 115w (i did benchmark tests and saw reviews too for every laptop which has a gpu from the rtx 40 series), cuz the rtx 4060 cards are 'power-efficient' as nvidia says.
That is a super clean sff build. Great videos as always.
This is what an Intel Nuc should be. Definitely an awesome device.
Really enjoying your videos, you inspired me to try out a project SFF rig for fun. Just got an HP 600 G4 SFF in today for $147 (shipped + tax). It's a little chunky imo, but I'm gonna stick with it and see what I can do. Didn't realize how perfect the SFF size and weight was on that Dell 3240 (Kinda wish I waited lol). Looking forward to more content!
I think the SFF would be heavier.
The SFF would be around 5Kg.
The Dell Precision 3240 Compact is 1.72Kg.
Also the dimension is like 2 dell optiplex 7050 Micro stacked side by side.
i just did the hp elitedesk g3 build you did a little while ago. it was already way smaller than my other pc, i cant wait to do this one as well.
Thanks so much, you have a nice intro and much better content!!
This is crazy good! Thank you for that
I used your coupon for my office pcs.. Thanks Prime, greetings from the Philippines
Great video. I love the things you come up with. I would really like to see a video with the steam OS. Hope you do that one soon.
Great video. As usual! Thank you.
Thanks doood just what we needed to know 😊
Damn that's small, dope already thinking of ways to mod/customise the case, plus that's a very good price for an upgradable platform
love it,, what a great little performer.
I work on a lot of dells of very different sizes and when you opened this up i realized that it's basically a vertically stretched dell ultra small form factor. Made wider to fit a video card. It even uses a very similar cpu cooler to deel usff PCs, but i definitely can see the temps being a lot better
This looks like a nice little box. I'd use it for MIDI rather than gaming, but I appreciate this channel.
Bro that PC is going Mastered Ultra Ego with it screaming that loud! :D
Nice. may have to check this out.
I've been running a 1050ti LP for a few years, really enjoyed it. I have one of those A2000's arriving today to pair with an EliteDesk with an i7-8700 - I like the larger form factor because there are more cooling options. Right now when doing PS3 emulation, it'll jump up to about 80c. Hoping to get that down to the 60's with some other things I have on the way. Thanks for the demo!
You can mount a case fan externally if it comes down to it. Cut a hole in the side of the case and use a fan screen guard.
Great find as always. Keep in mind that your RTX A2000 is PCIe x16 generation 4 (16 Gbps), and the Intel Gen 10 is gen 3, (8Gbps) and only DDR4. The Dell Precision 3260 is a 12th gen i5 with DDR5 memory that is being sold as low as $600. Same case. A better deal is to find a system with a 11th gen Intel which has gen 4 memory. Keep in mind you have to make sure your riser is gen 4 certified. Don’t think you can get by with gen 3. I tried with two different riser cables, one of hight quality and even a 3cm PCB vertical riser - none worked until forced it to gen 3. PCIe 4th gen riser cables start at $40. I did get better results, especially after replacing the heat conductive foam with a copper shim plate. You can also change out the shunt resistor with a lower value to increase the 75W limit and solder a 12VDC power cable to a 12VDC source and ground to push A2000 further with MSI Afterburner. 8000 points in 3D Mark is doable without it exceed 80c.
PS the foldable M6/RX6400 is almost done. Still working out the folding hinge design. 3D Mark graphics score of 3422 (sadly the n5150 CPU score was a piddly 1568). Still it beats the Ryzen 6900HX with over clocked DDR5 memory. To bad the company behind the M6 didn’t have the foresight to add to M.2 PCIe slots. In any case runs “Stray” 1080P, 60fps high settings and “Dead Space” 2023 at 1280P, 60fps at almost all high settings. More than enough to meet my limited gaming needs. Even better works great over Sunshine/Moonlight.
Hi, if i were to solder a 12VDC power cable to the source, can i use a 6 pin power extension cable? And can i use any of the 6 wires in the cable? And should i remove the other wires?
I 100% would like to see SteamOS and the RX6400! I have been thinking about putting together a low cost, Living room sff pc and the main stopping point has been the need for AMD graphics. The size restraints of the smaller cases have Def limited my choices. Thanks Prime!
just buy a deck,its also a pc
@polarvortex I have been contemplating this exact thing..Lol. Although, the deck outputting to a 4k TV is not exactly a good experience... but then again..rx6400..right. Appreciate the suggestion... Decks On sale today!! Woot woot!
@@polarvortex6601 but it won't be as powerful as RX6400 no?
@@brandonkarm9092 no prob go get em tiger!
😎😎
eta already built one with rx 6400. only 4.5 L
110% cool 😎
Thank you Eta.
Kindest regards, neighbours.
I'd definitely love to see that steamos setup!
That's a nice build
Is this finally the RTX A2000 12GB that absolutely no one benchmarks??
Edit - Not yet, still the 6GB version
For real I swear I never see folks cover those
I do think that this is the 6GBs version, isn’t it?
Edit: I was right 6:45
There is no difference in performance between the 6GB vs 12GB version.
6gb version
@@-BarathKumarS That's simply not true where the games have large textures or where Raytracing uses 1GB+ VRAM. You might not "get significantly more FPS" from the 12GB version, but you can certainly enable higher settings and textures. In games like Hogwarts Legacy even with DLSS the cards with 8GB were vested by 12GB RTX 3060 (non-Ti) lol
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I am betting you are already working on it, but I would definitely be interested in seeing how that RX 6400 does in a system like this.
Sadly the RX6400 is 2-3mm to long... cant place the front back again...
Good video!
Please, make comparison with 1650 low profile and A2000 =)
I have one of these with a 6 core Xeon W-1250, 16gb RAM, and a 6gb Quadro RTX 3000. It is a solid machine. Best part of these Dells will be when all the companies that lease these have those leases end, ebay gets flooded with some nice cheap hardware.
Yes, definitely want to see this using SteamOS.
Very interesting. Have worked with a lot of Tiny pc's but never seen a two story model with space for add-in discrete graphics.
3 questions:
Can I use another model of the precision?
Can I use another graphics card that can fit?
Would this be better than a mini forums pc?
Thanks for any help. I am really interested in building a budget mini pc and this video came into my FYP
Excellent video. I'm already done the same. Although I have the i7 version with 32gb and the 12gb version of nvidia RTX A2000. It's really fast and it can play almost everything.
I have Dremeled the nvidia bracket, though.
Only one question. What is the make of the keyboard you use.?
As far as games go… it has been apparent that cyberpunk has been your main “stress tester” for your builds of late. I think a new one to add to that is Returnal, which has only recently been released on pc, loads of graphics options to tinker with, not many have tried to get it running on lower end systems (at least from what I’ve been able to find on UA-cam so far as of this scribbling). I’d really like to see you try returnal on this, and any other builds in future videos!
Returnal isn’t really much of a stress test unless you turn on RT at which point what are you trying to prove by comparing it to a non-Nvidia device? Even most mainline Nvidia GPU’s can’t properly run RT as it becomes overwhelmingly CPU bottlenecked unless you’re rocking a 4080 or higher.
I recommend Crysis.

Mr. Prime, do a side by side comparison of the A-2000 vs. the RX 6400 in that special little PC of yours. The A-2000 is a little pricey and the 6400 is a lot more budget friendly.
@@smashpro1 I bought a new one for around the used/refurbished price when the price went down. It’s a steal sense I gave it to my cousin who wanted a pc he can play some games on.
Night and day
I’d like to upvote this 😂💯
A2000 unfortunately too expensive for me. For the same price can get a decent slightly larger GPU
@@EzaneeGires you basicly missed out, there was a period where you could get "used" rtx a2000 6gb for under 200 usd during the first "initial crypto dump".
i snagged two 6gb models for 230 Cad a peice.... best and worse investment ever because now i need two more pcs to build for them lol
Great channel watch quite often. If you put a graphics card that needs 6 or 8 pin power would a dell 230 brick plug right into the card? Then it would be two separate power supply?
I have a Dell Optiplex 3090 with a i5-10500, an a2000, a sn850x 1 tb, and 32 gb ram. I love it and it can chew through anything at 1080p
Does the GPU run in 16x or 8x with that riser?
Great video, a Steam OS test would be great
Was thinking of building a SFF console like PC for our 4K TV. How is the A2000 with upscaling to 4K with the assistance is DLSS/FSR? We do have two high end PCs on the network for games that would be too demanding.
Awesome device! I wanted to bay Precision, but it is expensive . Finally I bought Optiplex 7000 on i7-12700T. Thanks for video.
Do you think the new 4060 lp will fit?
i did the same but adding the a2000 to hp elitedesk 800 g4 sff which has i7 8700 (about the exact same performance as 10500) though a slightly bigger case. i do plan to make a video on it with upgrades of ram adding wifi and Bluetooth card and maybe a new cooler too if I manage to make it happen. i will be starting a new channel since my last one got hacked and coudln't recover, but I am loving the small PCs same as you do which is why I subscribed a while ago and keep watching most of the old and all of the newer videos you make, great job
what is that keyboard at the end of the video? i like!
Amazing PC I loved it's like a cute little dragon 🐉 with the a power of Godzilla 👌
I wonder if they make an 11th gen version of this. What gains would there to be had with pcie 4.0?
Can you do a long form video of taking it apart and putting it back together?
Please tell me what program do u use for live wallpaper?
Do you keep all of the PC's you build or do you sell them?
I wonder if could be upgraded to an i7 cpu, and undervolt it to make it run cool and on the same wattage
I have that exact computer. You can toast bread on this thing it gets so hot. I have a GT1030 in it lol didnt realize there was something better i could have put in it.. thanks a ton!
Does this beat those minis forum or beelink small form factor PC in price and speed ???
Which is a better frontend for emulation? Batocera or Bigbox, which one should I use? Great content by the way, keep up the work
Would this work with the 4060 LP? An update would be nice.
I really like these kind of form factor. I just wish the parts were more accessible and cheap.
did you try the REVIOS? or ghost spectre with it?
Hey ETA Prime, which do you like better the Dell Precision 3240 or the MSI Trident 3 for playing games and just as an everyday use machine?
I'm in the plan of trying to do the same, get this PC and build it for gaming. One thing I've tried to figure out is, do the 2 slots for m.2 support gen 4 nvme or is it gen 3? And how much it will support? Cause I saw a spec that it will only go with 2TB each I think.
Is it possible to ghetto fit 2 x 3.5" disks inside that case without doing a GPU card?
Does it fit the NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation?
Super film👍
What about the noise of the fan? How does it sound?
Nice brother
Hey! can you check to see if you can run Diablo 4 on the A2000? I bought it, and it is not compatible with my laptop with a GTX 880M, but somehow is compatible with older video cards.
I really have a thing for sff machines, that one is just mad smol
Can u make a custom build with the Case of the "Lenovo thinkcentre m600 10gj" ?
Can you refer to a link for the single post bracket you used? I have looked all over and all I can find the screw holes do not line up the card.
Can you put the 4060 low profile in this?
Wow, I didn't realize these were actual PCs , There are tons of these in our office, used by the people who work there. I have to travel so, I have a laptop. I thought these were Thin-clients!!
How does this compare to the current gen of consoles?
How about a mini case with oculink GPU and the um780 xtx mini pc with possible water cooling corsair?
One of these could make a great pfsense box because of being able to use a true pcie nic.
Have you tried under volting this CPU? It's already below 50w watts but I'm curious if this thing help?
Question on buying one of these keys. If I have a VM, and I apply the key, what happens when I clone the VM to a new VM with different MAC address?
How are the noise levels from the PC?
The main problem ordering PCs from Dell, HP and the like is they are still on older chips. Intel 10th gen when 13th gen is available?
Is it just me? I having a hard time finding the model you are working with. I see tons of the 1U models. But, I hardly see any of the ones with the 2U chassis?
Could you test Destiny 2 average fps with one of your sff pcs with the rtx a2000?
what are u useing to mounitor fps memoery clock and all that other stuff @ETA PRIME
You can do some DIY to make it cooler. Cut a hole on side panel and attach a fan on it. It will definitely increase airflow
Is doing this better than the Beelink GTR6?
Cute lil gpu. Can you use this a2000 gpu in an intel nuc 9 extreme
You made me buy a SFF Optiplex back in December last year and while I am happy with it for my retro gaming needs, I kinda wished I didn't, so I could build this one instead. Oh well, nice video and I am looking forward to the STEAM OS build with this PC.
That's the problem with this hobby. There's always something better next month.
@@JamieStuff Very true. And if you don't buy when you feel the time is right, you will never get said thing either.
This one is MUCH more expensive than your Optiplex though. With these SSF PCs, Acer Veriton N series miniPCs are worth considering - they have full size PCI-E x16 slot under the cover. (they have attachment for plugging in GPU but unfortunately I have never seen any for sale separately... not a problem 3D printing one tho)
Would the RTX A2000 work with ChimeraOS for Linux gaming?
please give me a link where you can get a dell barebone unit?
I'm making an AI Workstation for my start-up company and I need a professional GPU for all the cuda and tensor cores and I've been looking at the low profile A2000 for a while, ordered it thanks to this video in the 12gb vram variant since machine learning reqires large vram amounts and can't wait for all the other parts to arrive next month. Pairing it with 64GB ram and i9-13900 so I can make some future GPU upgrades if needed. Building mine in the NZXT H210i ITX case
Can you give me the link to the single-slot bracket?
What a2000 are you using ? I'm sure not the 6gb variant, probably the 12.
Hi sir, can I use the rtx a2000 on my optiplex 3040 SFF with i5 6500? would the GPU even fit? Also my PSU is only 180 watts, is that enough? Thank you.
how do you calculate actual energy usage?
Where is the fan on the A2000 drawing air from?
Interesting build re: repurposing the 3240. I5 10500 performance similar to a 4750G build (not advocating an AMD in a Intel mobo) with a comparable GPU, but the AMD build would set one back more. Surprisingly a 4-core 4770K struggles to keep up but makes a valent effort. The A2000 is certainly a nice SFF GPU given the space available and have come down appreciably in price. Nice! Thank you.
Hi, ETA PRIME. Do you know if it's possible to run Steamdeck OS on a M1 Mac like the 13 inches MacBook Air ?
nice video, wanna replace my xbox by one of these mini pcs with Steam OS
That's a micro system amazing
will it fit Gigabyte RTX 4060 LP variant?
I might want to cut a big hole at the side panel and put a big fan there LOL.
hey eta, test these mini pcs with portable monitors
The ebay link isn't right. The results of that search are Dell Optiplex 3240s which are completely different because they're all in ones.
Its a shame that the A2000 doesn't work well with HoloISO, this would make a great little steam OS box.
Blame Nvidia and their awful proprietary drivers.
Is there similar "case" for 4060 lp?
Dell Optiplex computers are underrated. I have been using one as a media server for 10 years now and it's still running.
Can confirm. This was a Precision but Optiplex are similar in terms of durability. I'm using a 4th gen 3020 SFF to type this. Bought it refurbished over 3 years ago when it was off-lease and thus 3 years old already, and still running strong. Bought it with i5-4590 and 8GB, 320GB HDD. Upgraded it to 16GB, GT 1030, 240GB SSD (later upgraded to a 1TB SSD with DRAM cache), 4TB HDD, PCIe SATA host adapter so I could keep the DVD, NetGear A6100 USB WiFi, not necessarily in that order. Runs every game I've tried at least passably. Looking at an RX 6400 for it's "final" upgrade, unless I can also find an i7-4790 (or similar Xeon with iGPU for the QSV) for cheap.
