@@therealchoiboy I wouldn't say that's exactly true. Weak-minded people can't think for themselves and they will use religion to justify their horrendous beliefs. But there are strong-minded deeply religious people that have a better head on their shoulders. Their "dependency" on religion is just shown differently. One person's dependency on religion might look like parroting what other people say without thinking for themselves while another may adopt the "just live and let God" approach (which is saying "I have no control over this, so whatever happens happens. I have to trust in God's plan to get through this").

Satan has to stick around to scare people into following god. But if that’s his purpose... then isn’t he a good guy? Like if he exists to punish bad people then isn’t he serving god by doing that for him?

I hope you have found support systems outside of your family. But artists like Lil Nas X are so important for exactly this reason. The video is powerful, and beautiful, and I’m so glad you found some comfort in it.
Not to undersell the amazing artist that we know as Lil Nas X ❤️💙 but he probably had some amazing mentors that helped guide him. I would say it’s a team effort and he’s a great leader. LIL NAS X 2028
I’m old enough to remember when the Christian right wing tried to cancel The Simpsons. Bart saying “eat my shorts” was just too spicy for them lol. Right wing Christians: the original snowflakes.
As a Christian, this entire thing is hilarious. Little Nas X isn’t destroying the faith of teenagers, seeing actual pastors and Christians be terrible people online is, and the church should be far more worried about that than some music video. Also, seeing pastors like freaking out over the portrayal of Satan (to the point where it seems like they’re defending his honor or something) is also hilarious.
You are 100% correct. I would probably still be a Christian today if my mom hadn’t raised me in a far-right, fundamentalist church. They preach “god is love,” but are the most racist, greedy, hateful assholes you could ever hope to meet.
Nas X is literally doing what Christians are telling him to do: going to hell. I don’t understand how they’re upset about it. He has some sickass visuals in his video too
They're literally afraid of just the presence of scary satanic symbols lol. But also I think they feel threatened that people aren't scared of their "hell" anymore? My family didn't push it, but even as I've grown more okay with God-based religions and try to empathize more than freak out, especially as I've seen many people show that the values of loving everyone is more important to them than the "FORCE PEOPLE TO WORSHIP OUR SKY DADDY" and stuff, like, I don't mind it at all anymore. However, partially due to how I grew up, due to the way people act about it, and due to my gothic nature, I still enjoy "satanic symbols". It's just my vibe. My friend has a very religious roommate in college. One time he brought a girl home and was going to have sex before marriage (GASP). The religious roommate saw this, and instead of just minding his business, he refused to leave and instead played the guitar and sang christian songs for them both until the mood was sufficiently un-sexy. The girl was like wut, and eventually just asked to leave.

lol, I'm a Christian, and I always find it super weird when people post videos praying. Like Jesus literally made fun of the people that prayed super loud in public haha
"And when you pray, do not be like the HYPOCRITES, for they love to pray standing in synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:5-6. LMAO. Interpretation: People who pray in public are doing it for the attention, not for genuine connection with God (read: performative activism). People who pray in private are doing it for the act of prayer, for connection with God, and not to gain street cred with fellow hypocrites, and will be listened to.
So many Christians don't know anything about their own religion. It's so blatant. And especially when it's people that are very heavy on Christ rather than God it's so problematic. They either don't know anything about Jesus or purposefully disrespects him and everything he stands for.

She’s not (as far as I can tell) coming from a place of hate. She doesn’t seem to be saying that he’s disgusting or whatever a lot of homophobic people do, but she seems genuinely distressed. It seems to me that she’s simply terrified for him because she’s been taught that he’s going to suffer for eternity because he’s gay. I’m not saying this to suggest that what she’s saying is correct or not harmful, I just think it’s interesting to see the two types of people in these types of arguments. There are the ones that are genuinely scared for people and the ones who are purely hateful.
Don’t remember who said it, but there’s a quote about how “without religion, good people would be good and bad people would be bad, but only with religion would good people do bad things” or something like that. I think the real quote is a little more concise

I’m always astounded at how few Christians have actually read the Bible, and how unfamiliar they are with broader scripture. (I’m not anti religious btw!)
One of the funniest things to me is how some Christians will find that any sort of like monstrous strange creature is demonic, like gods in Hinduism and other beliefs, but then the Angels in the actual bible are freaking horrific, dudes are walking around with like 68 eyes and 8 wings of fire and 3 heads each of a different animal
I always get so annoyed by christians who seem to seriously believe that christianity is the only religion and that everyone must follow christianity or must act in a way that is deemed “acceptable” by them
That’s typically in the doctrines of most religions. Most Religions believe that their way of worshipping is correct, and it’s their duty to ensure that others venerate their God properly.
I laughed for a good 30 seconds at “Where the Bible and CRITICAL THINKING meet.” Anyone who has been indoctrinated into religion knows that the church does NOT take too kindly to critical thinkers.

Satanism has nothing to do with the devil, they just simply don't agree with the church and what it stands for.
also the whole concept of the devil is kinda faulty.. if god actually was against homosexuality wouldn't the devil welcome homosexuals with open arms just to spite god? since he's gods enemy after all..

She acknowledged his pain, and said the church is responding the wrong way (i.e. the first pastor) she’s NOT upset that he’s gay.
"good Christians" have no idea what they're talking about. They want the aesthetic of looking loving and kind but they don't realize that it's contradictory to the teachings of the Bible itself. It literally says if you show compassion to non believers you're a sinner so going to hell. Which begs the question, if a "loving" being condemns a human being to ETERNAL SUFFERING, because they disagree with the teachings of said being, how can you call the being "loving?" In fact, said being sounds incredibly narcacistic and petty
i agree she thinks she means well, and she doesn’t agree with the church’s reaction, but she is homophobic in the way that she believes homosexuality is a sin that can be fixed thru a relationship with christ. those are the beliefs of the woman she referred to as having a great video, and that woman referred to another woman who “used to be a lesbian” but claims God made her heart anew. aka she says she’s heterosexual now bc of God

The entire Bible can be boiled down to two main things. "Treat other people the way you want to be treated" and "Do not judge". It's not that complicated.
The Bible actually talks much more things and that. The first commandment was I am the Lord your God You shall not have strange gods before me. So it is not just these two simple things. Non Christians only see the things which make them to enjoy, and fight against the other. They be like ohh I am so just, so right, having the ego. @Jessica Yu You are right! The Bible also teaches people the correct way to hate each other, and how to demean other people, restrict peoples private sexual practices, how to be a downright awful person (but it’s okay, all that murder is excused because you said sorry), marginalized women. And then came organized religion. The Bible became white washed, reworded, and twisted to excuse gross behavior. You are right! The Bible is multifaceted.

I fail to understand why these christians obsess over separating Islam as far as possible from their religion when both are abrahamic religions that believe in the same entity, and that being God… Also, “supposed” prophets..? not the smartest term to use when addressing different beliefs pal, that guy lacks basic respect of faith that doesn’t comply with his own. White christians all over the world have been known to not only criticize, but discriminate against people of different origins, religions, ethnicities etc. so for him to make that claim is just so absurd to me lmao.
For one thing, even if they do try to separate themselves, most of the time they treat Allah as a separate deity out of pure willful ignorance. Since they see the other religions as evil, they won't even bother with learning the bare minimum and they'll just stick with what they're told and won't care to fact check. I was raised as a Catholic and I personally saw how they would call us pagans, idol worshipers, deceived by Satan, they would even say that the Pope is the antichrist and that we worshipped him. Later on I found out they're taught that Jewish people have horns and that they drink christian baby blood as part of a ritual or some shit. After converting to Buddhism and learning about dharmic faiths I've seen how they are so hellbent on calling Hindu Gods "demonic" and whatnot. If I hadn't seen it, I would have a hard time believing they have such tunnel vision due to living in a bubble to the point even christian from different denominations are satanic for them.

Satanism has nothing to do with the devil, they just simply don't agree with the church and what it stands for.

Which begs the question, if a "loving" being condemns a human being to ETERNAL SUFFERING, because they disagree with the teachings of said being, how can you call the being "loving?" Most people in my catholic community would agree that other people's business is non of ours', but we should remain civil towards them at the end of the day. These people just have a savior mentality.
Exactly, and the pentacle is actually of Greek origin. The upsidedown one actually represents Satanism and most Satanism subtypes are non-theistic for example my religion, TST (The Satanic Temple) is completely non-theistic.

@Monster Fucker Isn't it from pagan origin, seeing as paganism has been around longer than wicca?

The entire Bible can be boiled down to two main things. "Treat other people the way you want to be treated" and "Do not judge". It's not that complicated.
The Bible actually talks much more things and that. The first commandment was I am the Lord your God You shall not have strange gods before me. So it is not just these two simple things. Non Christians only see the things which make them to enjoy, and fight against the other. They be like ohh I am so just, so right, having the ego. But they don’t know the basic of the entire world--God.
And yet they still find it so difficult
Nah not true. I don't think you've studied the Bible very much. It contains instructions on how to beat your slaves and says you should beat children, abuse women...and yes it does say homosexuality is a no no. That's why I don't follow it anymore. It's an outdated and bigoted text. Check for yourself
@Jessica Yu
You are right!

Tbf Muslims do it too tbh
@@ussinussinongawd516 no one denied that, you missed the point g
