Today I'm sharing our trip to Virginia beach. We took a mini vacation with some family. We planned to camp for two nights, but things didn't exactly go as planned. But sometimes you have to just take things as they come and not get too upset. It ended up being a wonderful trip. I am also sharing a quick home decor haul at the end. Glad you all kept your spirits up throughout all the changes you had to make. I hate camping in tents for that reason. It always rains when we went. I don't go anymore. I would rather stay less days and be comfortable in a bed and with heat or air. lol Hope you all are feeling better. Time to get back to the remake! Can't wait. Stay safe, stay well.

Hope the family is feeling better. Loved the stuff you got from Ikea and At home store, love your throw rug and color. That would go great in my kitchen. Watching your renovations and your upgrade has inspired me to ask the landlord if i can paint and possibly get new faucet and sink. Nothing major just to update and freshen up the place.
I love your videos because what you do is attainable without putting you in the poor house.

Watched your videos backwards but hey I got them in! Glad you made the best of it! It looked like fun even with the rain, you know me I looooovvvveee the rain ANYTIME so I wouldn’t have been too sad! Oh well, we can't control the weather! As my Dad always used to say about getting caught in the rain "you won't shrink!" (although, I wish I would...I'd be dancing in the rain all the time!, lol!). Like you said, you all made some fun memories despite the bad weather and bites at the beach. I'm sure it was nice to just get away for a bit. I hope you are feeling better! Glad you made the best of things, despite the weather. That Farmers Market box would be great for holding cookbooks, I think it would look cute. That rug is really pretty, and will look perfect in your brand new kitchen. I was happy to hear you tell Jackson not to dig too deep, on the beach. We have had some tragedies over the years, here on Cape Cod with sand collapsing and kids getting buried, a couple of times with, tragic results. People don't realize how little it takes, as sand is so heavy. That coral colored shirt looked great, that color is great on you!💖
Yeah it always scares me when he digs in the sand. I did tell him not too deep. You can hear it in one clip. I know how dangerous it can be.😩
That’s a great idea about putting cookbooks in the box. It’s kinda small though so I’ll have to see if I have any small enough.😀

I hope you and Marian and your sister-in-law fight off your ailments and life can go on as normal. I see that pile of laundry waiting for you - a mother's job is never done ... lol. So glad you & family had a great time. It's really seldom when everything goes like planned. Ha, nothing serious happened, no one got real sick or no car trouble and so many things can happen when in the water. Years ago we had a friend killed by lightning while getting out of their boat. She was the nicest person. I am so proud of you and your kitchen, it looks great and a great improvement and so many convenient things for you.
Oh wow, that is terrible! I don’t play around with lightning. My mom instilled in me a healthy fear of it. We are grateful nothing worse happened and we did have a wonderful time away.

Ooh hun...camping disasters, we know them well! My youngest son and I, two years ago, the same tent ⛺️ as yours believe it or not... rain and storms all day! 10 hrs later after we had creeks running through our tent plus not one dry air mattress, pillow, or blanket we decided to pack up and go home. We were so upset, but you know those things happen lol. We still love tenting and camping 🏕 and always will. I’m so glad you guys still made the best of it and had a good time. I hope your sister in law is better after the jellyfish sting. As always, looking forward to the next video as you’re my favorite UA-camr! Take care!

Glad that you’re home safe. I call our traveling mishaps “adventures” LoL. We always have them but they make the best memories and the kids have fun remembering them. Hope you two are feeling better ❤️
We live about 4 hours away from VA Beach to and have a trip planned for end of august we always stay at that camp ground. We didnt think we were going this year but everyone was just missing it terribly. We have definitely had trips like yours. All though disappointing at the time. Your still making memories. And we all can agree 2020 has definitely had challenges lol but we keep pushing forward.

I absolutely LOVE tent camping! I grew up going in the summer, but now that I have my own family we go in the fall, and I absolutely love it! I'm Hebrew, and in the fall we celebrate Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot, in which you are to build your own sukkah, which is very similar to a tent. Anyway, we gather with family and friends, take off a whole week, and it's beautiful with the cooler weather, the leaves changing color, cozy by the fire, drinking hot drinks like apple cider, it's wonderful😊

That was so fun! Looking back I realized that the most talked about vacations were those that had a snafu or two involved. The stories you tell later are much less stressful & so they seem to come out as a more interesting time. 😉. 🙏💕

I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation! That looks like some great sand for castle building. It's so different than the sand we have here on the gulf coast. That fire color changing thing is so cool! I'm going to have to find some of those the kids would love it!

They sell that stuff for the fire at Walmart. But only use it if you aren't going to cook anything like hot dogs or any food because of the chemicals in it. We use it when we have a fire pit going at our house, after we have had our marshmallows. Hope that helps.

I wish we could get that rain here in Oak Ridge, Tn...we get really quick little storms lately and then the sun is right back out! Its been 26 years since I was in Norfolk, my sisters husband was stationed in the Navy there and my niece was about to be born, so I was travelling back and forth. Its beautiful there! So glad you was able to turn lemons into lemonade on your trip :)

I went to that one the day after it opened. I was there in the area for a pottery workshop. I'd love to go back again.

The camping area is beautiful and I miss camping !😧 I always wondered why they never made wooden platforms for people who have tents that way if and when it rains things aren't going to get soaked? I would pay extra for that option,would you? So glad you guys got to get away for a little bit and Yes God has a reason for things and we have to believe that he is in control. I remember one time we went tent camping when I was a kid and it rained and I woke up in a puddle. It was awful. It tainted camping for me lol Glad you still had a great trip though. Love the items you found for your kitchen!! Its going to look so nice!

I lived in Virginia Beach for 20 years. I just moved from there to Ohio this last October. I love Virginia Beach. There is so much to do & so many stores around. I live in a small town in Ohio now & we have practically no stores. Haha.
I grew up in Norfolk right next to Va Beach. Used to go to the "Strip"/ The beaches main road almost every weekend😊😎.

So funny for the last week since that rain storm last Sunday we have been getting nightly storms in VB. They come quickly and dump quite a bit of rain. I think last night was the only time this week that it did not rain.
You will never know what all those delays kept you from. You have the sweetest attitude even in disappointment.
