- David Tennant and Matt Smith talking about featuring in videogames. David talks about working on Call of Duty :)
7th December 2019, Wales comic con, Telford.
I'm Surprised Tennant didn't mention his part in Just Cause 3, he's one of the sole points of comedy in that game
I was wondering the same thing. Not the best Just Cause game but so much better than COD and he was hilarious as the announcer.
he probably didn't know. Voice over is a very solo thing and you don't really interract with the other VAs. You just get handed the lines, told to go in booth and get to it
@Thomas L Yes. He's basically the public mouthpiece for the big bad in the game. When you complete main missions and the base has been destroyed, you hear him over the radio saying there's nothing to worry about, it's just a spot of renovation or whatever. As time goes on he gets more worry and uncertainty in his voice. It's a funny way to cap off the missions.
@@lwaves I had no idea that was david! I went and listened to it again and my brain still doesn't compute it.
Lwaves THATS DAVID??
I just remember playing WW2 Zombies with a friend of mine, and my mind being blown hearing a VERY familiar voice
Really? Just the voice? The face didn't do anything?
Laura Kay I mean, he kinda looks like a hobo Steve Jobs in the game
@@damian9303 They must have changed it since I last looked.
@@damian9303 with a British or Scottish accent?
@@haiqal5333 I mean a scottish accent is a british accent. It's like asking if it's a Texan or America accent.
In Just Cause 3, whenever the player liberated a large military base, David Tennant's voice would come on the radio. He was a captured prisoner made to read all the propaganda of the evil military dictator ruling the island. So you would tear down a missile silo, and the voice on the radio would say in David's scared and timid voice "O-o-our great leader has decided to remove the unsightly fortification to build a water park for all our "beloved" citizens. Viva Medici...", and they were some of the funniest moments in the game.
I remember that, when I first played Just Cause 3 I was pleasantly surprised to hear his voice on the radio. Had watched videos on the game before getting it and the ones I watched never showed any of his radio segments. Was such a nice little detail in the game
Me and my friend still joke about David Tennant yelling “bugger off!” when we play call of duty
SpideyAnonymous my fav line from the game.
Which cod?
Matt Smith: "I only did that 1"
Me: "ahem, The Eternity Clock, The 5 Adventure Games, Return to Earth"
He obviously meant Motion capture. He did that for the Eternity Clock but not for the others. The others were just simple voiceovers so maybe he didn't consider that "playing" the Doctor.
@@Nightwing-bh2tn most likely, but prolly he also recorded those other games maybe alongside the audio dramas, or in a spare afternoon not told what it was for, so he might not even remember voicing those games
David is a very good story teller
Fun fact: turning on CC when he talks about his son being excited for him being in Call of Duty, it says his son was excited for him being called juicy and now I’m scared.
Oh dear! 🤣 that IS slightly terrifying 😅
I didn't know they did Call of Duty scenes in Hungarian studios, that's amazing!😂 Makes me kind of excited that Tennant was here in Budapest. And he pronounced Budapest right!! I'm so happy.
"And frankly slightly sexual" God I love David
As a hungarian I can't appreciate enough that finally somebody foreigner, specially David Tennant :) pronounced correctly our capital's name Budapest. It is something like Boo-da-PESHT. Also in the Spies of Warsaw he mentioned Budapest and with the proper pronuncation :)
Hello there fellow magyar David Tennant rajongó barátom :D
I think that's just how the Scottish say certain words lol but I see what you mean 😉
I like how the fan knows what game David was in but David didn't know
I am so glad Tennant talked about CoD! It was like my only good memory of the game.
Shout out to Tom Baker's video game voiceover work: doing the narration for Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future on the Dreamcast!
Both Bakers, Davison and McCoy did voiceover work for a video game prior to the series revival.
To be fair didn't they appear through specially recorded video footage, whereas Matt actually performed as a Voice Over
@@Deathlygunn They recorded new voice lines for Destiny of the Doctors while Pertwee had reused voiceover work from his time on Doctor Who.
@@Deathlygunn If you watch the behind the scenes for Eternity Clock, then you find out the Matt did more than voice over, he was acting around a scale model of the TARDIS.
David being an old man makes me laugh everytime I see it
We've had Matt, but I so wish DT would come to Australia.... with Matt too, they are great together!
These two appeared in Lego Dimensions as well. As playable Doctor regenerations
But they used pre recorded audio
We need more doctor who games
I wonder which Doctor was featured in Fallout 2...
It was an easter egg in a game :P
Now I want to play Call of Duty. And I have never played video games. Except a couple of evenings playing Pacman on an office computer when I was maybe 8.
Can I recommend halo
Loved Tennant in zombies lol he was the only good bit of wwii zombies
so David was in Hungary and I didn't know about it. what a shame
ugyanúgy érzek
I would love either a point and click Doctor Who adventure game or Lego Doctor Who.
Doctor who was in LEGO dimensions
David is also great as Edmund Rockwell the end boss of Ark Survival Evolved :)
He's also doing the spinoff animated series as the same character.
He was kinda in Just Cause too :)
John Smith, In what way? I’m very curious
@@mrpenguins9101 I think he's never mentioned by name, but he's the radio host on the main channel - reporting on recent events, and glossing over the fact that there is a liberation happening. He's been kidnapped on vacation, and is forced to read propaganda.
And here I am, getting "Call of Duty on Wii" by Scott the Woz recommended to me.
sooo funny, thanx
I wonder if Matt plays video games
10th Doctor is my favorite
Yes i gathered
David also voices a character in the upcoming Superliminal game! :D
WH
Wait a minute that's David!?
@@BassBanj0 No, he didn't voice the character. Apparently the voice actor does sound like him though.
I DID NOT KNOW DAVID WAS HERE IN BUDAPEST AT SOME POINT IN HIS LIFE
WHY DID I NOT KNOW
Fortunately David has been in a Doctor Who videogame now as a guest appearance as Tenth Doctor in The Edge of Reality with Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor :)
He had been in Hungary? Really? Why I didnt hear about it. I cant believe I lost my only chance to meet with him
Well there was that interactive adventure with the grask but don't know if that counts
Me, a Hungarian just casually listening to this, and then suddenly... "you go to Hungary" YOU GO WHERE, DAVID?
I loved the adventure games so much as a kid, despite the shitty graphics lol
This is just several hours of David Tennant being a much better interviewee than Matt
Love the fact he refers to TY as his son thats soooo sweet
1:30 what did you say
One more time
ONE MORE
Going to have to buy COD : Zombies now. 😅😎
Anybody else heard "juicy" instead of "call of duty"
