So in my experience when playing the randomizer the auction house is in such a way that when you leave and re-enter the likelihood of it showing the same item again is higher than a different one. That being said you can kind of mess with that by entering the room talking to the auctioneer declining leave the room then re-enter and do the auction. This should change the item more often than not.
speedruns never stop being funny. "I ripped the souls out of these slime creatures, then pushed all but one of them into the corner of walls in such a way that they get sent miles away using gaps in reality, and i do the same to the last one but count _precisely_ when its body dissipates into the aether so that i can position myself to get crushed and swallowed by this tree. This little maneuver saved us about two minutes!"
2:22:30 I LOVE learning random trivia about childhood games I thought I knew by heart. Heres one I love : Phantom Hourglass If you leave the phantom ship without taking the heart piece ; you will receive a letter from the devs saying : Haven't you forget something ?
This type of video is definitely one of the greatest resources for getting into wind waker speedrunning. It also is just very entertaining to watch Linkus be such a monster at this game that he can perform the speedrun while explaining the nittygritty of all the crazy strategies.
Love how Linkus is so inside the Zone during the entirety of the video to the point that twitch chat is nonexistant and that makes this feel like a separate video of it's own rather than an edited VOD. Now that's impressive (Still, the route showcased on this video is completely bonkers aaand it also serves as a proof that EVERY videogame is completely broken on their core, and given enough time 100% speedrunning evolves into super-complex, multi-layered optimized routes that are mini-speedruns on their own which is completely insane to me) Simply perfect
I've never understood how landmarks keep shifting their locations, including vertically. In Ocarina of time, Kokiri Village wasn't really any higher than most of the map. Hyrule must be very geologically unstable, otherwise that entire place would be deep underwater, just like Hyrule Castle. (I know it's for gameplay reasons.)
@@jaredbarker9515If you want to look at it from a lore perspective, consider the second word in the title of most games in the franchise: Legend. They're all legends. With legends, including those in real life, details can get muddied, exaggerated, and mixed up. So all the inconsistencies in the games can easily be chalked up to the way legends evolve over time. So far, the layout considered 'the most official' for Hyrule is the one laid out in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, since that's the latest version. It also bears countless references to the other legends with landmarks named after characters from those old tales.
@@jaredbarker9515 I assume that when they dropped an ocean of water on the place they moved some things around so that pockets of civilization would survive the cataclysm instead of most of it drowning because it wasn't mountainous enough.
I wasn't paying attention to your little box in the corner during the first half of the game and I assumed you were watching a recording of your own run, because doing a run with so many crazy tricks WHILE explaining them seemed insane to me. And then... I looked where your hands were. Holy shit, dude. You're incredible for explaining these so damn well AND speedrunning the game at the same time?! Incredible!
Watching the Live Stream was fun, thanks for cutting it down by a good amount and taking all the time to explain it. One of my favorite games as a child. I'm glad it still has relevance after over 20 years
I love that you showcase this game on the original released compared to your most luckiest run on the HD version of Wind Waker. It’s interesting how some strategies were way ahead and some were awesome to be showcased. Thank you Linkus7 and your content is so good.
I believe the reason tingle is so expensive lore wise is so he is able to buy himself more outfits since in one of the tingle tuner flavor texts he mentions that his outfit 398 rupees.
I love this as a concept for showing off everything. Feels like a very good introduction someone trying to grasp the whole of a speedrun in a way i havent really seen before. At least not with quite as much detail/live
I wish more speedrunners would break down their runs like this. This was incredibly informative, even as a more casual player myself. I learned a ton about the game and some cool trivia.
I had a long drive today and this perfectly matched the time. I’ve watched enough Linkus speedruns to see the game in my minds eye while the audio played :)
2:21:45 There's also the fact that all of these Treasure Chests are still in the international releases, so you'd still have to get them anyway for 100%
These sunken chest only contain rupees on the international releases, so they are not required to fish up for 100%. It's a combination of the different heart piece locations (mainly savage labyrinth) and text that makes JP a lot faster than US or PAL. Also, you have to visit all these islands for other reasons as well, so adding one chest to salvage is far from bad.
i am so glad people are still making videos on this game. Wind Waker was my first zelda game and i love watching the speedruns with all the crazy glitches. Thank you linkus :D
Zelda Wind Waker speedruns have always been a treat to watch. Despite enjoying the run, I must admit that I didn't fully understand everything that was going on. So this video is much appreciated!
Loved watching this live! So hype to see it edited! Windwaker is my favorite in the franchise and am always a fan of seeing it speedrun. Explanations were fantastic ❤ can’t wait for the next stream!
Probably one of the best explained long speedruns i've ever seen. you can just see from the start how he enjoys explaining all those techniques and pulling them off like a robot. Can only highly recommend this to every speedrun enthusiast.
I'm sure other people have done this but your my favorite but still what a flex, speed running a game while talking about every detail about how to speed run the game, that proves you know what your doing and I'm pretty sure you have two brains.
Hey linkus! I doubt you will see this but every time you make a speed run video and you explain the tricks is very appreciated! 31:00 "*If you're in a bottle of water*" Lol I thought that was funny but thank you for the content. I just really got into LoZ from BotW so seeing this stuff is quite entertaining.
It's really impressive how you're capable of clearly explaining all of these strats and glitches over the course of several hours. Definitely not an easy feat!
I can't believe all these glitches are "pausa"ble. Haha, love the vid! Even just being able to listen at work without watching, its still so entertaining. This totally makes up for linkus not being at gdq this year!
The guy that “rediscovered” that skip defiantly seen the previous one haha he had too, great story tho that’s very interesting It’s crazy that people were on this grind back then, we live in a cool time haha. Love your commentary and how you’ve explained things throughout the video great video man!

That barrier skip setup sounds like someone describing a fake speedun trick lol "Like yeah, next you spin around a couple times and drop a frame perfect bomb. It's totally real guys. You gotta believe me"
2:04:57 I've actually played Wind Waker for the first time just now, NA GameCube version, and had a weird experience with this chest. I could see it on the compass, but it didn't appear when I killed all the enemies. I then also made sure I pulled down all the stone faces off the wall, still no chest. I walked up to it to investigate, and may or may not have hit A, I don't remember. But bumping into it suddenly triggered the animation of it appearing and I was then able to open it like normal.
1:33:00 in this minute you mention that the original Japanese version doesn't give you those Rupees jars next to the Triforce Charts and that sounds hella raw. (goes straight into the nearest magma pit) 41:57: How did you get back to Forsaken Fortress? 49:18: He calls the bait "some Swedish meatballs". I like that. That was funny. However, I find the calling of the Triforce pieces cheese insulting, because they're so important. 59:16: "...and, once I'm here, we are going to three things. The first -" He accidentally releases the fairy, then puts his hands over his mouth in shock and cuts forward 5.3 seconds. It's a good thing this occurred, here, rather than in an actual run. 1:02:16: Toon Link yells, "Come on!" to a statue and it listens. 2:06:25: dungeon, not game
