KK's best leads are live and Tipton's in the studio. KK just takes them to another level and his guitar howls live, where Tipton's live felt too muted into the music.
True. There's a version here from 2018 with Faulkner and Sneap and it's good but instrumental not on this level. However Halford is much better there than on this one. So ideally I'd take Halfords voice from 2018 but definitely this instrumental
While Tipton had the technique and classic touch, KK also had the technique but had the blues soul. Two different styles but complemented each other perfectly.
There's a funny story behind Rob's voice in this show. He told, he was too sick of his throat or something, almost aphonic; they coincided with Whitesnake at the festival, and David Coverdale prepared to him a bizarre concoction which gave back a lack of Rob's voice, enough to perform the show. Personally despite adversities they're one of the most professional in the business. That was an amazing solo, by the way.
Oh that's the most interesting bits of history I red about Priest. I was at that show and found his voice was not the best. I saw Whitesnake there for the 1st time in my life... So amazing to read such an anecdote. How did you learn that ?
@@rangerrick222i just listened to them back to back. Both great but this one hits. He has better equipment with the kxk guitar and he makes sure we know he can abuuuuuse that V.
I like love the fact even while improvising he makes sure to keep the authenticity of the solo. K.K Downing has great control on what he is doing; not to forget his guitar tone as well. Just incredible
saw them in 2008 in Sydney and Sinner was a highlight KK was legendary as was all Priest but this song and Rock Hard Ride Free they really cut loose on ....:)
One of the best Priest songs, which automatically makes it one of the greatest metal songs ever. Graspop 2008 was amazing, tens of thousands of people with a lust of HEAVY METAL; memories I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
I miss KK so much.... so many bands ruined by ego... Creedence, Purple, Floyd, Judas, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Pantera, Skid Row..... etc... etc....
It's the strain that has been put on his voice for song long. Has to change up his style a little to keep up. You have to respect the hurt that man put on his vocal chords for so long. Saw them on the last tour, ZERO disappointment.
He was sick when performing this. He took some mix drink to fix his voice a little bit by a member of white snake. Still rob was giving it all when being sick.
Mr.downing is primed and ready on a Sunday night !THE SINNER .ANYBODY remember what year that is when halford says that ?Well that is the best version of this song live ...... Priest rulz ... \m/😎\m/
***** only other thing I not likein is the speed of the songs ,I know there is 20 year's or so span between them so for that I'm alright with it , a little lol ,priest rulz ,\m/😎\m/
Nice to see this song in the 2008 'Nostradamus Tour'-setlist. But this song was at it's best in 1988. Watch the Miami 1988 bootleg of this song. Type: "Judas Priest Sinner miami 1988" and enjoy.
Rob can still sing this, but he was extremely sick this night from what I understand. He did it excellently with his solo act in 2002, and judging by his sound on this years tour, he'd probably be even better on this now than he was in 2002. I doubt it would be at the level of 88, but it would be epic as hell.
I believe that Sinner is one of their best songs. This version is quite well considering the circumstances mentioned. Where i disagree is that the 88 versions is better. I think the 79 -82 era this song was performed at its best from all aspects. After 1984 they decide to speed up the tempo in most of their tours and this song ( the majority of their songs i guess) has more to lose than to win from the tempo change. Just my honest opinion
I saw them live in 2008 during the Metal Masters tour and this was the one song they dropped from the setlist due to a noise curfew, which disappointed me because it was one of the first songs that got me into Priest when I was really little, like 3 years old, and I never stopped!! But they played Eat Me Alive, which was awesome because 2008 was the only year it was in the set, ever.
Wow, with the remasters it finally sounds good... I was there and I remember it as an excellent show ! Graspop 2008 was one of the best Line Up ever !!! Thanks for the upload. Did you remastered the whole show ?
KK is straight God Level in this solo.
KK's best leads are live and Tipton's in the studio. KK just takes them to another level and his guitar howls live, where Tipton's live felt too muted into the music.
No metalhead can watch this without a huge smile on your face......brilliant.
You got that right ! 😆
KK !!!!!
KK's solo is out of this world 🤘
Love the song but KK's solo is one of my all time favorites. Who can watch this only once?
I get emotional every time I get back here and listen to this kickass KK's solo, masterpiece
KK is fantastic, miss him so much in the band
They all do their parts so nicely together.
...that was always such a trademark and an influence on bands like..Iron Maiden..the NWOBHM...one of..Priest’s great contribution to the music
I like Faulkner but nothing beats the duo of KK Downing and Glenn Tipton
Agreed
I second this comment.

Agree 100 percent. Glen and kk downing are great together. They make the band.
Without Glen that song would be without that feel of the whine that comes from Glen's guitar.
Ok is the most underrated guitar player ever!
HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST WHAMMY BAR SOLO'S EVER.K.K.DOWNING RULES!!! THE SINNER
Perfect live performance, from every member in the band.
One of the best bands playing live.
Kk for life. The soul and the infinite landscape of Judas. Hail KK
This is fantastic! K.K. is totally hot with his superb guitar work and effects!
While Tipton had the technique and classic touch, KK also had the technique but had the blues soul. Two different styles but complemented each other perfectly.
KK does stuff no one else does...CREATES these aural soundscapes...
So fucking good to see KK Downing Faulkner Go Home

That was an amazing solo, by the way.
Haha, I guess he should have done the same thing! Cheers!

Now that was a guitar rock star moment, thanks KK
That f*cking guitar solo!🤘😜
This is probably the best live performance of this song that I've seen! Fuckin' killer killer killer KILLER!!!
UNLEASHED IN THE EAST- MASTERPIECE IN METAL
KK is the reason I picked up a guitar and started playing.
Sweet Jesus......KK was possessed during that solo!!!!!!!
03:35---that's probably the best Sinner solo by KK I've heard. And I have heard a lot of them.
Good but not as great as the 1982 version. Pure Gold.
@@rangerrick222i just listened to them back to back. Both great but this one hits. He has better equipment with the kxk guitar and he makes sure we know he can abuuuuuse that V.
KK is a Madman, oh that Tone. Nothing like it in the industry.
Incredible vid! Takes me back to the late 70s and early 80s when Priest were the center of the metal world.
You want a Kick Ass Performance, Judas Priest, ripping it 40 plus years ok. Love em!
KK is like an animal trainer trying to tame a wild horse, always just on the edge of loosing control.
They own that 40 plus year old song , tight performance. Saw them 8 years ago and they do sound this good live. I wasn't expecting it, glad I went.
One of my top 3 priest songs since my college days. Great live performance!
This is remarkably faithful to studio version actually...
I like love the fact even while improvising he makes sure to keep the authenticity of the solo. K.K Downing has great control on what he is doing; not to forget his guitar tone as well. Just incredible
yeah it used to be way faster.
KK makes mad love to that guitar...….period
When Judas Priest were the real Judas Priest!!
OOOOOOHHHHH!!! Great performance by KK!!
I cant believe a guitar solo actually made me cry.
Fantastic!! Metal will never be the same.

Awesome that Glenn still rocks his Hamer Phantoms.
this is metal at its best !!!
Sid KNIGHT nope. Watch 1982 version. Iconic.
WOW! I saw KK in Hollywood 2009
El amor y señor del heavy metal Judas priest.nadie le quita el trono.
To me Halford voice sounds better now as he aged , it’s gritty and deeper, tone is stronger, still hits plenty of high notes,
K.K. is a fckin god, i love his style of playing. Judas Fucking Priest! \m/
Metalizer. KK has that reckless style that. i miss

Jason Upshur they played it on the Defenders tour.
Very good live version here. I wish it had been on the excellent "touch of evil live" album with that production. It would've killed!
I was just thinking the same thing!
Yes, why didn"t they release a 2CD live... With songs from 2005-2008 and 2009, they had everything for a good double live album !
