Yes he is awesome, but to me, the young Simon Phillips did the sin after sin lp and I don’t believe he was more than 18 I could be wrong. But ya that kid was something in 1977 .
Sabbath may have started it, Maiden may be more popular, Metallica has sold more than everyone, but Priest are the band that 95% or more of any professional metal musician when asked, which band is the ultimate heavy metal band, JP will be the 1st band that they mention. Sabbath was very blues based and heavy slow riffs, with the odd up tempo tune. Priest took it out of the blues and gave it a more sharper and metallic sound and dramatically increased the tempo. they have by far the best voice and twin guitar duo (past and present) PERIOD.
Out of respect for his massive contribution to the very foundation of heavy metal, I think we can forgive the metal god for no longer being able to sing like his 20 something self. It's the least we can do for all the great music he and Priest have given us.
Besides, he still has some range and has improved since this concert. He's been singing Saints in Hell in the same octave as the record in 2018, wich this song is also part of. Who knows, maybe he would do the same thing with Exciter nowadays. The Metal God's voice is a rollercoaster. The heaviest, most fun rollercoaster ever!
Saw them for the 4th time in Bucharest 3 days ago. Rob is like a fine wine, at 70 years old he was the best performer i've seen in the last 5 years. His voice was even more powerful than the studio recordings when he was young. I bet he ate "mici" in Bucharest and they gave him even more satanic power.
Wilson Moreno queen had power metal songs on their first 2 albums years before. Check out great king rat, ogre battle and seven seas of rhye. This is probably the first speed metal song
To this day... The best live band I've ever heard. Didn't hear them all but tried. Metallica is a solid ass kicking second. Maiden(older), Ozzy with Sabbath and latter, Pantera, Def Leppard, Zepplin, Deep Purple (interesting how the Blues music created so many metal bands), accept... It will go on.
How can he have the same voice over all these years. It hasn't changed at all. Well, he has to put more effort now to do the screams he did at Painkiller era, but if you listen to Firepower album, he is rocking like he is 20 years old. Truly deserves to be called a Metal God ❤️
@@gerradanthonymusic look you're totally right. I should rephrase that. He hasn't lost his vocal range. He can't scream high notes as clean as in his early days, but his overall vocal range and distorted voice haven't changed at all
For judasdeathrow666 you got it ma' man: epic guitars and crowd following the band .Metal is not only for those who bangs head like idiots . Priest, Maiden, Motorhead are bands who captivate their fans with the magic of their music!!!!!!
@bessadale Totally agree dude....The Late 70's JP albums kicked fuckin ass.....British steel (despite being their most famous album) was completely toothless compared to Stained Class (which I personally believe to be their finest).....
@garminpink It's really sad that the best bands are getting old and retiring. But just have to face the facts.. But as you said, Halford still sings better than many younger vocalists out there. Will be amazing to see them one last time.
Scott Travis. Are you kidding me? This guy is absolutely killing it for six minutes...smooth as silk with precision power.
Yes he is awesome, but to me, the young Simon Phillips did the sin after sin lp and I don’t believe he was more than 18 I could be wrong. But ya that kid was something in 1977 .
I'd rather hear Dave Holland .
What a drummer. That intro - double bass drums and double strokes on the toms. He nails it like Les Binks. Stunning.
yes, but Les did that in '78 when very few played like that. he deserves more credit.
@@CristianVargaMastervargas Totally. Binks is one of my fave drummers of all time. He had a unique feel and beautiful style.
Cristian Varga According to Les, he came up with the intro by mistake during a soundcheck.
@@CristianVargaMastervargas fuck yeah, you understand talent! not a lot do in these copy times 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Les, and Simon, and SCOTT !!!
Scott Travis killing it, without any effort whatsoever.
That was a solid pick, when they hired him for Painkiller. Scott has great technique.
No doubt...flawless.
Anyday anytime
Solid techniques, damn cool personality
Les Binks was one of his main influences as a drummer
This is the best sound of Scott Travis ever, the pure sound of the drums with no compresión reverb or other efects

Sabbath basically invented doom metal with the slow dark themes that doom would adopt.
+GrayWoIf jep and judas priest heavy metal (as we know it now) and speed metal.
Sabbath basically invented the Heavy Metal and Judas Priest takes from another level.
(((((( Priest is METAL ! JP fucking Rules ! ))))))
thebreeze12, I absolutely agree 999,999% !!! Tooo tooo many bands were influenced by Priest !!! & Still underrated !!!
Rock does not get any better than this. JUDAS PRIEST really know how to deliver the goods.
Good one dude ! 🤟
AMEN,PRIEST ALL THE WAY. SAW THEM ON EVERY TOUR FROM '77-05.
Absolutely one of their greatest songs. and that's sayin' something
I wish these guys would stop melting my face off with awesome performances.

Judas Priest la Banda Mas Grande en la Historia del Metal.
People seem surprised that a voice will change and degrade over a 40+ year singing career. Halford laid it all out there throughout his career.

judas are the GODS OF METAL.
People, you can't expect Rob Halford to sing like he did in his 20's. Hes 60 now, so at least enjoy he still does it.
He's 72 now, and Priest just dropped one of their better songs to date
Utter fucking legends...love the priest
Saw them in 2022 and they nearly blew the walls off the arena!! Gods of Metal!
I love judas.... I 'm Korean
But Korea people don't know judas well...
Guess they know I.Maiden
because , many foreign culture banned by President Park, and Jeon until late 80s.
KOREANS KNOW....NOBODY NOBODY BUT YOU!!! LOL
play it louder
You have the power to change that! :)
Thankfully I think Rob's voice has improved in recent years. He was struggling with a very demanding song here.
Struggling?
No, not even trying, instead channeling his inner Barry White! 🤘
This is my favourite Priest song and yet in all the times Ive seen them they never once played it...dam!
Glenn. Fucking. Tipton
Most underrated guitarist in metal!!!!!!!
Judas is the best
Love Judas Priest, love the song, love the crowd, love you all.
Woooooooow cant believe how old is this song , sound so futuristic!
o melhor heavy metal de todos os tempos

Some people say that this song: Exciter, was the very first Power Metal Song.
Wilson Moreno queen had power metal songs on their first 2 albums years before. Check out great king rat, ogre battle and seven seas of rhye. This is probably the first speed metal song
I'd give the first speed-metal song honor to Deep Purple, Fireball.
I can definitely see this, remember hearing it as a teen and thinking "damn, this is hard and fast, like nothing else I've heard."
@@dhalgrentv7157 Though they never accepted the "metal" tag.
Isn’t this the first thrash metal
Best version of Exciter in my opinion
Always thought the world of this band & it was sad when KK left & Tipton getting sick. They were truly Metal Gods.
I saw Priest in Newport not two weeks ago, and Rob's voice was great. The whole band were brilliant.
Verdaderamente esta cancion es muy especial, muy única en su estilo en su año y hoy en dia
Japanese are fantastic fans....similarly to Spaniards, that really love JP
yes! sorpion. ufo and deep purple and others groupes
Great song. I'm a one man band on youtube. Hope I can make a good song.
Strained Class will always be my number 1 album by Priest as it was the very first time I heard them.
Where have the years gone?
These guys still can put up a metal show like no other heavy metal band,Metal Gods.
Strapping Young Lad does a cover of this song that will blow you away. Their lead vocalist has some pipes.
Dewin simply rules together with Rob
love you Rob 💜
Me too
Priest still Rock! Cool Track!

Poor Rob's voice has been bludgeoned for a long time. I appreciate his effort.
Judas Priest is second to none.

Japan and South America have the best fans
Glad they got Scott Travis. There’s no way Dave Holland would’ve been able to play any of the pre-British Steel songs.
He was pretty good with Sinner
From 3:43 to 4:11 is the part that i like of this song
