Hey Brooke! My daughter and I started lettuce garden in an under bed container and put in bay window. Peas in the back small bed in our tiny yard. Rerooting celery and green onions. Walking dog daily, thru paths, woods, by stream. Tucked in local park. I heard a bird, found the mockingbird and smiled in happiness at its beauty. Then your words came in, “Get outside and get happy!” So I smiled again and thank you.❤️❤️❤️
Today I am extra glad for the electronics that we have. I turned 65 today and big plans had to be postponed. But I spent a good portion of the day FaceTiming different family members. And after dinner tonight my grandkids called me and we had cake and ice cream together I am blessed

I live in the woods, forest all around me.I sit outside lots, watching the Muscovy ducks we own 18 of them.Plus watch the chickens free ranging .Also a cute Squirrel running around collecting grass and feather down from the ducks, she is making a nest in the Blue spruce tree.I love Nature,I have Gypsy Blood in me,my grandfather was a Gypsy ..I will be planting a garden,as soon as it warms up more.
I feel lucky. Own garden, woods at the end of it, living out in the countryside and can roam around totally alone. Today I am saving my garden furniture and greenhouse cause we will have a storm with high winds coming in from this afternoon. Securing everything and hunker down. Seeds are in there pots (tomato, chili, bell peppers), i am preparing for potatoes and onions to go in the ground. After this 48 hour storm we are having, spring will arrive with 65 to 70 F. Then gardening will happen. Cant wait! :) Stay safe and happy! ❤
Probably my favourite part of your channel is when you actually show how you make your shelters unlike some other channels where they just show a little bit in the middle. love your videos
I am a volunteer driver and have been extra busy driving people to doctors appointments and to hospitals , to relax in the evening I love wat hinges all the different bushcrafters and how they go about building their shelters, I do t have tv anymoŕe but watched alone when you were on it. When my son sells his house we will be heading up to our new property west of Thunder Bay to build a hunt camp
My daddy use to call me his gypsy girl, born in 63 I grew up in a wild time! Leather and lace is a great song! One of my favorites too! My son married a girl who is gypsy, hippy, whatever it is and one of my daughters is a gypsy girl as well. Sure miss my daddy an hearing him calling me that. His sister, my aunt Georgia still calls me that but it's not the same. I love all your videos and have admired a lot of the clothes hats an coats you wear, as well as your earrings. You go be you girlfriend! You're doing an amazing job at it!
I enjoy the very rare occasion to get out (grocery shopping) and dressing up (donning my gloves and mask) lol. Seriously though, it makes me happy to see others being more aware of their health and witnessing more respect towards others. Of course I'm lucky to get to live vicariously through you and Maisy. on my free time, I'm taking timeout to learn, meditate and breathe. I'm growing in many ways, unfortunately one of them is in the tummy area. I have to watch your exercise video again.
About losing the hatchet: you must decide a spot where it always belongs, for example, at the foot of the right-hand support pole. Then, you make an association in your memory, such as, “right hand tool, right-hand pole”. You create your own image or association and remind yourself every day of its proper spot. You will then place it in its proper spot every time, and you’ll never lose it again. Thank you for your great videos!
I would call your style BOHO Woodsy Girl.. Lots of work there, but fun to watch! I can’t wait to see you spend the night there. I have been busier than usual, doing outside work cleaning up from winter on five acres near Mt Rainier. Today, I weeded and scraped moss off of my patio pavers, picked up some branches from the pasture, and need to make bread, since we just ran out of store bought. Also, my daughter’s arabian horse had her foal today, a filly! So cute. Waiting to see pics and video of them. So far I have only seen headshots. Have a blessed Good Friday, Brooke. So thankful Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice.❤️❤️🙏🏻 I join you in prayer for those suffering!
Holy PIPES Brooke. Wicked shelter, one your style too. I've been converting a lot of my gear to more traditional style stuff like canvas and leather pack, traditional knives (love my Puukko), etc. Ditching all the nylon an polyester. Along with ditching use of plastics all together, made my own beeswax wraps and carrying my food in small tins instead of plastic bags. I've always been obsessed with how people lived before all the detrimental modern conveniences. It's a work in progress, but in the right direction. Cheers friend
You are awesome Carenna (sorry if i spelled your name wrong) and killing it over there! Go girl! I agree- love, LOVE the natural material stuff. I like the canvas backpack you use. Super cool! And I love seeing Grizz ZOOM! lol Hope we can collab at some point in the future! Cheers :)
You're a spirit of nature, Brooke, and it shines out in your eyes. I too wear what I like, and what I please, I've never really been fashion conscious, and like nothing better than to commune with nature; woods, fields, meadows. Fortunately I live way out in the sticks, and it suits me just fine. If I date a guy, he needs to understand that part of me.
I've been putsin' around the property, planting roses, potting baby cedars, fixing our front porch screen door, and getting ready to make you your gift from me, I KNOW you're just gonna love it!
You soooo remind me of me, 20 years ago or so. Your history, tent rafts, working outside, I worked as a recreation technician for the USFS.... so many stories and similarities. Color me envious about your man! I’d would love to meet you but I live much too far away plus my health isn’t very good at present. Thanks for making good videos. Makes me nostalgic for the days I could hike for hours. I do live at a big lake still.
I'm watching YOU. I'm stuck in a wheel chair after a failed back surgery. I have been catching up on all my bushcraft videos. You, Corporals Corner. Survivor Lily etc. All good stuff. I like you a lot because I use to go out on frequent overnight campouts. I can feel your joy in being out in the woods. My wife is not a big fan of camping so I went solo pretty often. Just to get out for an overnight clears my head and helps me appreciate everything so much more. Best regards CB
Just be you, Brooke!! Have been out to a friends camp but there is two feet of snow. So I have been watching my you tube bushcraft people who all are building awesome debris shelters. I enjoy through you all! Thanks for sharing!!
If you can when you finish lining up all your leaning poles in place, find a large heavy trunk kick plate at the bottom of the poles. I am working in my garden, bird watching from my backyard. I then take Angus (my Belgian sheepdog) for a walk. It's not as much fun as taking a hike in the "Pine Barrens", but for now it will have to due. All the state and county parks are closed in New Jersey.
Well, I am still considered an essential worker, my husband and I hike our woods on the weekends. We try to bring the dogs, but because it's been so rainy here in Massachusetts, they always end up a hot mess and I have to bath them. Tomorrow, I think that I may just bring out a few pieces of my patio furniture and place it on our deck, overlooking our covered pool. I am going to bring the dogs for a walk, but that will be up in the common of our lil town, to avoid the Mudd and the ticks. Sunday, definitely a hike through our woods with my hubby!!!!
I wish I lived up in the mountains somewhere! Used to live in New Hampshire and it was beautiful! Very cold winters sometimes as low as 30 degrees below zero, but the summers were excellent! 65 years old now and with this false Fauci flag and new world order idiots doing what they do the mountains is the place to be! It is what God says to do when terrible times are on the earth! He says to flee to the hills and don’t look back! Sounds like our Creator knows what He is talking about! I used to raise pigs and Hereford heifer cows! So nice! Animals are the best! They show so much love!
We used to have a big fluffy dog (part Newfie-part golden) and when we went on road trips, my husband would buy him a cheeseburger from McDonald's. He'd eat that whole thing and spit out the pickle at the end. His name was vanilla (our niece named him), but we stated calling him pickles. He'd spit out that pickle at the end, intact, after devouring the rest of the burger. It was too funny. Love your videos! Love seeing Daisy, she's too cute!
Lol on the guns and lace! Why not? Celebrate true, feminine ways. You are an amazing woman. Stay safe. Tks for the inspiration.😉🇨🇦 yes, garden planning and getting out to the forest weekly. Baking sourdough and spring cleaning. Lots of walks. Waiting for the snows to stop!! 🌲🇨🇦
I have access to my own woods but my Governor says I can't go there as of today. Brooke I like the fact that you have your protection with you. That goes for Maysie too.
A friend of mine had a Mongolian Yurt constructed upstate, New York, way up in the Catskills. It is so beautiful up there, so much so, that it’s hard to believe that you are still in N-y. The yurt is off the grid and there is only briúsh around them with all types of berries and herbs growing there. My friend built a garden right outside the yurt with many toes of vegetables growing there. We would have a feast of pleasure going up there and living off the land. It was as quiet as you could find it way out in the woods. Unfortunately the Yurt sustained too much flooding throughout the years and is no longer up. I still love to camp upstate N-y where my ancestors, the American Iroquois Indians once lived sadly. It’s beautiful country there.
Hi Brooke, another great video. I really enjoyed the balance between hearing your voice, natural sounds, and the music. As for the clothes, I get you, I like to wear something that will meet the demands of the tasks, is comfortable, and it’s me. The shelter is looking great; it’s hard work, yet rewarding. Try putting some bright color duct tape around the neck of your hatchet; I’ve doing that my tools that I carry for emergencies. Stay safe and Rich Blessings. May you and your family have a fulfilling Resurrection Sunday. 🙏🏻
Thanks Brooke! You always do such an awesome job! Thanks for you boldness praying in 'Jesus name'! Miss your Mary Oliver poetry readings, you inspired me to purchase 2 of her books! I had double-carpal tunnel surgery last summer and I chain watched all your videos. What a blessing you are, thanks!
Happy Easter!! The shelter is coming along great. Yep, starting my garden, walking my lab, learning to play the guitar, working on my hot rod and planning a camping trip once all the crazy is done w/. And wear what you're comfortable in!! After I retired, I got rid of all my 'fancy' clothes...now its just jeans, tees, shorts and sweaters!
Thanks so much for helping me to live this adventure vicariously with you. Waiting for my knees to heal, will be able to do much more next year (2022). I do so miss it!
Just be your self no matter who that is . You will be happier in the long run as long as you don't forget God . You are just the epitome and definition of cool . I work on and run R/C's to pass my time .
The shelter is looking good, Brooke, and that sandwich, oh my! I love your lacy top. You could be called Fire and Lace:) Stare into the fire:) Stay safe, Brooke and DaWoof.
Another great video! Idea: you could wrap the hatchet handle with bright colored duct tape. That would be a quick fix without painting and can be easily removed.
We really enjoyed this video, it makes you think you are actually in the woods walking, such a sweet sound, we had already watched that one before this one, thanks for understanding, I know you can't please everyone, keep up the good work, as always REMEMBER JESUS LOVE'S YOU 🙏🙏🙏
OMG!!! Stevie Nicks, Leather and Lace!!!! Girl, that is my song!!!!!!! Clearly, we are in the same age group.....;) That's one of my go too in Karaoke, when I actually get to go out and sing!!!
On tool handles. Paint them bright colours. I'm in the UK. We don't have a lot of space. But I have some waste ground by me that I take my dogs to. I'm on my own and people like you keep us sane.
I love your free spirited soul! I love that you are just you! Your videos are always uplifting. Thank you for all you do! Can't wait to see the shelter done. I know it will fantastic. Stay safe
I sit on the porch on the east side of my place by what I call "the apartment tree" a really tall pine. Rabbits on the ground level, squirrels on the second floor, and mourning doves in the penthouse. I usually sit out there and either read or wood carve, I like to do fun animal caricatures. While I was watching this video I was finishing up the last of an elk stew I made this week. Being somewhat of an introvert the shelter in place hasn't got to me yet. Thanks for the video, love the location.
Put that garden in. We retired and moved from Calif to North Carolina. I have room for a huge garden. 6 6X5 foot raised bed plots. Just the best. Planted all the more expensive veggies. I just go out to the garden daily and pic what we need for the day. It's just great. You get close to what you eat. You will enjoy it. CB
You always do you, authentic, and hell yeah you ain’t afraid to say it. A lot of work and a lot accomplished so far Brooke. I am with you 100%, us girls need to stick together and show them menfolks that bushcraft can be pretty too! I have been staying local and looking for new spots, as well as picking up rocks and doing mandala designs on them using old nail varnishes. Gets me outdoors on my roof terrace. But hey, keeps me happy ;-)
Maysie is acting younger with Moose around. Best wishes to you and your family this year. We got our property and built a nice outhouse and shed last year. Next is a platform, a 12 x14 canvas wall tent with rainfly and stove. Also a lot of gravel and dirt work which I think I will hire out!
I also have that same bandana in white as well as black! Unfortunately all I've been doing is sitting in my chair watching Ice Road truckers and you on UA-cam, i broke my ankle last Sunday, orders are to stay off of it! 2weeks, broke tiba, see what happens, love watching you and Dave!
Great place to build a shelter Brooke. My Wife and I are in our 60's and live in North Central WV. We have been taking walks and I have been doing a little fishing. We don't live to far from the Monongahela River. A friend of mine has over 60 acres outside of town and I go out and enjoy his woods now and then. That is what we have been doing during the stay at home order. Be safe and God Bless you and your family.
Another great video. At this time I am in my apartment watching your video and really enjoying your skills building another structure. I also watch a couple of other channels that include camping, survival training, fishing and general outdoors. I understand your dressing for comfort in layers. If you were here in northeast Florida we have had heat waves in the 90's already. We got a little relief thanks to a mild cold front coming through so today's high was in the 60's and tonight's low is supposed to be in the upper 40's. One thing I noticed are all the dead trees as you also pointed out. I recently heard another instructor use a term that got my attention. He said always look up and check for widow makers AKA tree branches or trees that can fall on you and injure or kill you. One other good thing with all the downed wood is a great supply of fire wood. Well I need to fix some supper, your sandwich made me hungry. Keep up the fantastic job you do and keep living your dreams
YOU TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT MY MOUTH I WAS TALKING WTH MY FRIEND CHARLY I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO MAKE A GARDEN I LOVE❤TO PLANT HERBS AND PEPPERS,TOMATOES🍅 SQUASH, YOU'RE AN INSPIRATION TO ALOT OF PEOPLE INCLUDING ME I LIVE POCATELLO,IDAHO
My folks introduced me to the “woods” when I was about 10. Since then I go there when I need to get away from everything and everyone. I made a debris shelter as a hunting blind one year and it was great. I saw a bobcat up close. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
WOW!! Sure like that location for a mind and body think spot... Hope the bigger trees don't fall over as easily as the first few smaller ones did ...... Intro with a lunch sandwich and chocolate bar ,, yep , gotta have it ! Used to stop in a small market for sandwich and snickers couple times a week.. Had the girl behind the counter convinced chocolate was "vitamin C"...lol.. I think she maybe thought it meant "crazy".....lol.. Nothing like fresh air ,, a little physical work to make a good day pass.....when the downed timber gets all picked up ,, that spot is going to look sweet !! Be careful ,, Be Safe and God Bless.......P.S. Can't wait to see if the fishin' hole pans out !!...
Hi Brook, Making your hatchet more visible; paint 2 one inch wide Red stripes at either end of the handle, or paint the bit Red. If you can stand the colors, should lower lost time hinting for your tools🤠
Always enjoy your bushcraft skills, reminds me of when I was kid. My brothers and I would build forts out old boards, branches, even dug out a spot and covered it with old boards and branches and leaves. But, our dog loved it in the hot summer days, always found her in the underground fort. LOL....... Love all that you do Brooke!!..... PS for garden this year, I'm thinking of container gardening, still planning and thinking what would be best. Thanks Again for all the hard work in your videos!!
I have a lanyard hole in my hatchet, and I put a piece of orange chord in it and weave a snake not through it. It stands out as long as you don’t kick a leaf over it! 😊

Brooke, we think alike. Leather and Lace is my favorite look. I can go out in the woods with hubby and find a great place to target practice and if I wanted, I would wear a cool rustic long skirt with boots and shoot for a couple hours and call it a great day camping. I love your sense of style and your pioneer spirit! I have a suggestion for keeping track of your tools. Before construction, pick a spot close to your site and use a tree to put your hatchet in or make a flat spot and put down a piece of canvas with orange sprayed on it and lay your tools on that so you can see them. Shelter is looking good!

Who else played "Leather and Lace" over top Brooke's video as soon as she mentioned it while watching her clear some woods? Great song, great video!
yeah wish I could of done that too! Copyright would of got me!
I have access to my own woods but my Governor says I can't go there as of today. Brooke I like the fact that you have your protection with you. That goes for Maysie too.
i would def defy that order
@@therealgirlinthewoods it's you governor also
Grow a pair Jim.
thank yo!
I always find that the best way to find something you've lost is to stop looking for it. Then, you'll trip over it!
What a blessing you are, thanks!
she's great
Happy Easter!! The shelter is coming along great. Yep, starting my garden, walking my lab, learning to play the guitar, working on my hot rod and planning a camping trip once all the crazy is done w/. And wear what you're comfortable in!! After I retired, I got rid of all my 'fancy' clothes...now its just jeans, tees, shorts and sweaters!
go johnny!
Thanks so much for helping me to live this adventure vicariously with you. Waiting for my knees to heal, will be able to do much more next year (2022). I do so miss it!
I love your videos and your strength. I am about to become homeless and that shelter is looking good to me right now. You're living my dream.
Just be your self no matter who that is . You will be happier in the long run as long as you don't forget God . You are just the epitome and definition of cool . I work on and run R/C's to pass my time .
I am watching you and my garden and flowers are all in. Resting right now
The shelter is looking good, Brooke, and that sandwich, oh my! I love your lacy top. You could be called Fire and Lace:) Stare into the fire:) Stay safe, Brooke and DaWoof.
yesss
Another great video! Idea: you could wrap the hatchet handle with bright colored duct tape. That would be a quick fix without painting and can be easily removed.
We really enjoyed this video, it makes you think you are actually in the woods walking, such a sweet sound, we had already watched that one before this one, thanks for understanding, I know you can't please everyone, keep up the good work, as always REMEMBER JESUS LOVE'S YOU 🙏🙏🙏
OMG!!! Stevie Nicks, Leather and Lace!!!! Girl, that is my song!!!!!!! Clearly, we are in the same age group.....;) That's one of my go too in Karaoke, when I actually get to go out and sing!!!
i knowwwwww
On tool handles. Paint them bright colours. I'm in the UK. We don't have a lot of space. But I have some waste ground by me that I take my dogs to. I'm on my own and people like you keep us sane.
I love your free spirited soul! I love that you are just you! Your videos are always uplifting. Thank you for all you do! Can't wait to see the shelter done. I know it will fantastic. Stay safe
Thank you so much!
Great shelter in the woods. We are trying to keep our spring flocks and 7 kid goats happy.
cool!
Thanks for the video, love the location.
sounds great!

CB
I love your style you can wear whatever you want ,,,love your videos brooke you would be the perfect wilderness companion
JUST BE YOU THAT IS MOSTLY WHY I WATCH YOU AND DAVE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE THAT IS FANTASTIC
Planning the garden, taking care of new bees. All good.
Girls can still be pretty in the woods! It's all about what makes you happy right!? 😁🤗😃
But hey, keeps me happy ;-)
nice thanks!
Your videos are so helpful. I’m taking my grandkids around Anchorage, in the woods, and building shelters for the homeless.
I love your Spirit and Maysie Daisy is wonderful!!!
I love the new look Brooke! Esp. That vest! You rocked that! You be you cuz that's why we love you!
Brooke, You are one tough lady! I love living outdoors and that's camping is. You inspire me!
I'm so glad!
Good to see you again kiddo, best wishes to you and the family. Stay healthy and happy
Brooke, you are such an inspiration! Shelter is looking awesome and so are you!
I also have that same bandana in white as well as black! Unfortunately all I've been doing is sitting in my chair watching Ice Road truckers and you on UA-cam, i broke my ankle last Sunday, orders are to stay off of it! 2weeks, broke tiba, see what happens, love watching you and Dave!
oh no take care!
Be safe and God Bless you and your family.
sounds great!
Keep up the fantastic job you do and keep living your dreams
yes lots of wood for both building and fires. the standing dead is nice and straight too. take care !
I wish I had your energy and guts to do what you do. Loving watching.
Can't wait to see if the fishin' hole pans out !!...
yes it's gonna transform nicely! and yes hope for fish!
Hi Brook,
Making your hatchet more visible; paint 2 one inch wide Red stripes at either end of the handle, or paint the bit Red.
If you can stand the colors, should lower lost time hinting for your tools🤠
can't paint it ever. but will tie bright flagging on it
Always enjoy your bushcraft skills, reminds me of when I was kid. Thanks Again for all the hard work in your videos!!
sounds good!
I have a lanyard hole in my hatchet, and I put a piece of orange chord in it and weave a snake not through it. It stands out as long as you don’t kick a leaf over it! 😊

East central MN, out in the woods. Cutting wood and making trails. Back home, splitting wood, burning a stump. Burning bark.and cleaning the firepit and stacking 13 cords of wood

It was a nice section, hello from Turkey, the dog is very beautiful
I started a garden and I so enjoyed doing it and I enjoy every day seeing it grow!
I love Leather and Lace too! I really admire your self confidence and your complete indifference as to what others may think!
You're a peach Brooke! Shelter looks good, stay safe 👍😃✌️
Love the orange top. Wow.
A holster on your belt for the hatchet and always replacing it.
I love your style, Brooke! You’re beautiful! Cheers from FL!♥️ Keep being awesome
!
hi Brook so glad to see ya,, I love your shelters, and always enjoy your videos, and got to say hi to Masie,, thank you for sharing your life with us..stay safe,,and God bless
Wonderful day! We have one just like that in Washington state. Really enjoyed the shelter you built in season four, and then the cabin. Very creative. We built a tree house last summer. We have slept in it since Chistmas . We are believers as well. Bless God and bless America. Brian and Debi
wow cool!
I see that nice little healthy pine tree there holding up, while you're working around it, you're so careful with everything in your heart to play hard & very hard-working. I'll find your first video BROOKE, while my hands are about doing good things, as always reminder I so appreciate everything you do and how you do it and why you do it,🛌 I'm getting out and getting happy🚶♀️
awesome! girl in the forest alone! wow an extraordinary adventure! are you not afraid? ok, because you are experienced, so you are definitely not afraid. But still take care yourself! stay social distancing wash your hands often and don't forget to wear a mask! I always support you ...
Hello Girl In The Woods!
Im From Indonesia!🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Edit : Have A Nice Day!
Those water bottles are great they hold so much i love mine
Brooke, we think alike. Leather and Lace is my favorite look. I can go out in the woods with hubby and find a great place to target practice and if I wanted, I would wear a cool rustic long skirt with boots and shoot for a couple hours and call it a great day camping. I love your sense of style and your pioneer spirit! I have a suggestion for keeping track of your tools. Before construction, pick a spot close to your site and use a tree to put your hatchet in or make a flat spot and put down a piece of canvas with orange sprayed on it and lay your tools on that so you can see them. Shelter is looking good!
love it!
Thank you Brook, I watch you forget the news. Stay safe n healthy Girl in the Woods. ... Arkansas Clyde 🇺🇸✌️
Getting a garden ready to plant.
nice to see you withyour positive message and positive attitude. Nature is beautiful... but a lot of work
