I've walked the course & stood on the postage stamp tee, never played it though.
One of the great Scottish quirks, is that you can freely walk your dog along & onto these famous links.
Might not be able to afford to play it, but can still enjoy it.
“It may take a lifetime to learn this golf courses infinite complexities” but it only took Henrik Stenson 72 holes. Great video, excited to have the Open back at Troon.
Usually there isn't much said about Troon being at the top of the Rota but after this video it's definitely opened my eyes to how astoundingly awesome this course is. I especially enjoyed the three acts of the course and that came through clearly. Keep these coming for the top classic courses---they really are amazing. I'd love to see Fishers Island, Chicago Golf, Royal County Down, Royal Dornoch, Merion, Olympic, Royal Melbourne, Shinnecock Hills

As with any Open Championship, it’s always more entertaining the more the wind blows. This is especially true at Royal Troon, because the back nine there can be brutal if there’s a 20-30 mile an hour wind in your face on that back 9.
I'm sorry, how did Mickelson and Stenson shoot 17- and 20-under par on this course? The 3rd best player only shot 6-under. Just goes to show you how amazing that duel was back in 2016

Nicklaus sent Stenson a hand written letter to say it was as good a display of golf as he's ever seen.
The weather change had a massive part to play that year
Iona is the absolute best - one of the most knowledgeable people in all of golf

Wow what a course - 7-11 look incredibly interesting, plus the par 4 Burmah on the back 9
with its deep cavities and unpredictable surfaces.
Palmer said the 11th was the hardest hole in championship golf.
I heard 41% of golfers love this place.

What a golf course it's like I'm watching Gordon lightfoot's Edmund Fitzgerald..... I'm an eight handicap. This would be a treat to tackle this track.

Americans in general like their golf courses to be benign, manicured country gardens, bereft of character and the elements like wind or punishing topography. Only Pebble Beach comes close to the awesome challenges of true links golf.

The biggest weapon links courses have isnt their design. Its the weather.
If the weather isnt perfect, expect a tounament score in single digits under par.
The weather forecast is for rain and wind. This course will destroy most of the field.

Her love of golf is impressive…but she talks too much. This video would have been better if there was no commemtry just a few labels and word comments for each hole like the USGA does. She sounds as though these courses are the best in the world and only a very few select exclusive people can play them and then there are the pros …this off limits world where us mere mortals revere these golfing icons as gods. Really!!??? Let me reassure every one of you…i have traveled the world and i can promise you an irrefutable even immutable fact of truth….there are golf courses out there that are way way better than these British Open chamoiomship rota classsic links courses. Go to California and New Zealand for a start.
