If you took collector box money and just bought the weekend low you'd have ended up with playsets of every allied fetch with about $150 leftover to buy a copy of most of the good cards from the set excluding the headliner cards. The complete medallion cycle was available for $10 shipped ($12 if you wanted foils) .
No you don't get the thrill of opening packs but when that card equity doubles or triples I assure you will not care.
