NewCarTime, thank you for the excellent video! The 2025 looks SO much better than any previous years in my opinion. I have driven a V6 3.5 liter engine Accord for seven years now and the reliability of Honda is incredible! I wouldn’t think twice about buying any other manufacturer’s 2025 model truck simply because Honda’s engines are so well made! I didn’t like the visual design of the 2024 but the 2025 has caught my eye, and very possibly my purchase of this truck this fall if the price remains lower than 50k.

absolutely perfect
Honda will not be this aggressive in their design - it will come out looking like a Passport and Pilot which is a HUGE mistake. Things that need to happen to the Ridgeline #1 = Get Ride OF the Push Button Transmission it is not convenient when you are trying to back a trailer up off the road as you are blocking traffic - another thing with this is when you shift the transmission from P to D or D to R it is so slow to get in gear and when you are in a hurry it is very annoying. #2 = Make the next Ridgeline look more aggressive with a higher stance (Truck Like) and make it look different than the Pilot and Passport - these vehicles should have their own design and looks #3 = Give it at least 6000 lbs towing capacity with a built in factory trailer brake controller - almost every small camper with cargo weighs 4000 to 5000 lbs #4 = DO NOT give it the same DASH and console as the Pilot and Passport. All Honda cars that have been redesigned basically have the SAME dash now
I read your comment carefully, and I understand your demands on the Ridgeline. Here are some of my thoughts on this:
1. Push Button Transmission: Yes, this can definitely be an issue, especially when backing up a trailer, and many people have given feedback that they had trouble with this. For many, a traditional gear stick might be more convenient.
2. Aggressive Design and High Stance: I get it, you say the Ridgeline needs a sharper design and a higher stance. It's important that these vehicles look different from the Pilot and Passport, and on this point I completely agree. An original design is always appreciated.
3. Towing Capacity and Factory Trailer Brake Control: You are absolutely right that the Ridgeline's towing capacity needs to be increased. The 6000 lbs towing capacity along with factory trailer brake control can be a huge advantage for users. This increases the functionality of the Ridgeline while also ensuring safety.
4. Exterior and Interior Design Difference: Exactly, it's important that the Ridgeline has a different interior and exterior design than the Pilot and Passport. Each model should have its own character.
The push button transition works just like a stick. They are all electric. Nobody does cables anymore. I haven’t noticed any difference between pushing a button rather than using a joy stick. Once I got use to it, of course.
@@crawdaddct I know it works the same - but Honda shift time is delayed compared to Toyota or GM for example. when you back camper up off the road into your drive the push button design is not user friendly when your trying to get of the road and not block traffic. Had a Toyota Prius and it was all electronic shift and it was in gear immediately from reverse to drive - Honda especially when you have to shift to R to D to R backing a trailer up into a tight space
@@JLC-zg5rd yea have noticed you have to completely stop and give it a second. Much different than my ford where it shifts on the fly and engages as soon as it’s safe to do so.
The Honda Ridgeline has the interior room of a '60s Chevy C10 pickup truck. It's wider than the competition. Lots more functionality. Ride and handling best in class. The two way tailgate, the trunk in the bed, the folding back seats, the back doors opening wider than the competition, competent all wheel drive, great handling, good payload, and a user friendly infotainment are the pluses. What it needs to be more perfect is the 360 cameras, exposed tow hooks, steel skid plates, auto folding rear view mirrors, step in bumpers like the GM pickups, usb connectivity for the back seats, entire 4ft wide rear window that comes down (helps with those 8ft ladders, surfboards, drywall and and plywood) , another inch in height, lighter interior colors and contrast like the Ford Maverick, 275x60x18 tires, and Ford Maverick prices. I don't care if the interior is all plastic and exposed metal just make it nice plastic like the Ford Maverick.
I read your review carefully, and thank you for sincerely sharing your views. The Honda Ridgeline's spacious interior, functionality and ride quality are truly commendable. Regarding the additional features you requested, I have taken note of your suggestions such as 360-degree cameras, steel tow hooks, auto-folding rearview mirrors and USB connectivity. These additions can further enhance the practicality and ease of use of the vehicle. I hope they will be able to fulfill your requests in this production.

My Ridgeline has 240k miles on the 3.5l engine and recently $3k in service to deal with an engine tick. Still not resolved. What Honda hasn’t addressed is fuel mileage so I’m done with Ridgeline

tough, tough competition nowadays guys. See Honda is not less. Infact never less. Honda has come out with such a beautiful elegant PICK UP. It is jaw dropping beautiful vehicle. I do not know how far it is true but in the UA-cam, I even saw Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Audi and other Pick Up Trucks. I was shocked.

A direct injected transverse mounted V6 on a uni- body is not really ideal for this segment. Resale value has always been terrible for something overpriced to begin with. The new Hondas and toyotas are not a good value anymore in my opinion. I still enjoy the older ones - very reliable!

Facts man, went in last week to my local Honda to get a 24 si. Banks didn’t even want to finance and said it will lose its value to fast. They wanted me to put a huge down payment on it. I was also willing to pay cash for the car but after hearing that I got out there. Going to be selling my 2020 Honda civic today lol. Fuck Honda and also fuck their cute little trash car truck

Just test dove a 2024... A very nice vehicle V6 with decent power, but I really hope they didn't put that split exhaust (like the 2024's). When I punched it, it sounded like a Vespa, went from a 7 out of 10, to a 2 on the wow factor scale.

I don't believe the 2025 Ridgeline will look close to this but it needs too!! That has always been my problem with the Ridgeline, it looks like either an Odyssey minivan made to look like a truck or an Accord trying to be a truck. I told my coworker, who has one, that if Honda made it look like a truck it would definitely be a hit with the midsize truck buyers. It would with me!

My GMC tows almost 12k lbs and my Pathfinder grocery getter is rated at 6k pounds towing capacity. My daughter’s Pilot tows 5k pounds. My point is Honda is peeing on your leg and calling it rain when they call this a truck. S M H

It's literally a Pilot minus the 3rd row seating and a small bed in its place. I don't think anyone interested in this is trying to haul a bulldozer. Probably just trying to move small things without the headroom limitations of an suv. While not giving up the front half of an Suv. It's called a UTE.

The above new design will appeal to some of the youngsters but most want a truck to customize, lift , off road technology and big tires. Most Ridgeline owners if like me don’t want or need a rock crawler mud hole diving monster truck. 😢

Like front wheel drive standard. If it came with an 8' regular cab and front/rear wheel drive transfer case. I like the roll bar, but it would be nice if it could be removed for hauling.

The New Tacoma is entirely too expensive - I think WAY over priced compared to the Chevy, GMC and Frontier. Honda needs to up their game with the Ridgeline - currently you can get an absolutely loaded Ridgeline for 45 - $46,000 - The Tacoma goes above 50 grand
