I really liked the original Cranberries version, but I LOVE the PTX version. And the video is beautiful…such a peaceful interlude.

Its the one they did during lockdown. They had people deliver recording equipment to their house and had to figure out how to set it up and record on it on their own. Except Kevin bc he already had it.
Scott said on the first song he sent poor Ben Bram like 47 different takes bc he wasn't sure which was the best.
They did Blinding lights by the weekend. Kevin said it took he and Ben a while over zoom to get the drums right but it's crazy that he can even do the drums to that. And Matt with the bass.
They've been together for 10+ years. Matt sang the last part with them. I always enjoy your PTX reactions. Thank you!
This is my absolute favorite cover bc I can imagine this is what heaven sounds like. This is one of the songs I made sure the nurses played for my dad when he was dying. I haven't really been watching reactions bc I've been a little down but I'm trying to get back into them. Wish me luck

This is such a new song and they did a phenomenal cover of it. It’s ethereal.
The song was originally recorded in 1993. Pentatonix did this version in 2020. I’m not sure I’d refer to that as “new” per se….

I do think Matt got to sing ”a different way to be” with Scott. They sound really lovely together.
As others have mentioned, they did the at home EP in their own homes during the lockdown and the videos are basically really professional virtual choir performances.
I had to chuckle a little bit about your comment that their harmonies were so good in this one (which of course they were!), how they sounded like a single person singing. This was recorded during the lockdown, so everyone sung their part separately at home, then they were all mixed together, and they filmed themselves at home as well. It shows both their skill in singing their parts so perfectly, and the skill of the engineer(s) who mixed and mastered the song.

This is one of Pentatonix's "homophonic" songs, when mostly everyone is singing the same words at the same time, but on different notes to create chords. As opposed to a "polyphonic" arrangement where everyone sings different things and Kevin and Matt (or Avi) are doing vocal percussion. This isn't completely homophonic because Matt is going back and forth between being a bass instrument and singing the text with the others.
All harmonies, no beatboxing, and gorgeous melody. Wow! Fantastic!
It's a Cranberries song. They put a more dreamy quality minus the beat boxing to it to match the title. A good call. Harmonies are unmatched.
Eddie, is there nothing else you can do to get around blocking? The position of the screen makes their faces look like the mirrors in a fun house. Your reactions are usually good, but the screen is really yuck. 'Dreams' is definitely a favorite otherwise.
Hey Patricia. :) I've spent 2 years messing with different things with the videos. From making them transparent, to putting spider-webs or cracks over the screen, flashing images on top of the video every 5-10 seconds, etc. I've tried putting videos, letting them get blocked and then disputing them. But that can take up to 30 days to resolve. Which meant I couldn't react to new videos when they came out. I've experimented with leaving the video flat 2D and just making it transparent, but I would have to drop to 80% opacity which made the video so see-through that you couldn't see anything that was going on. None of these methods work as well as this new method. I would get 4 out of 5 videos blocked the moment I uploaded them, until I switched to this method and haven't had any issue since. I'm not aware of any other options at this point.

I love this cover of The Cranberries original plus the fact that they did it from home. Can you imagine how hard it must have been doing an entire album remotely from home. I mean I know they got sent mini studios to set up in their homes, but still Ben must have had a lot of post-production work to do. Like adding the floral filters in and things like that. Beautiful five part harmonies and four part harmonies with a baseline. Great reaction Thx Eddie 😎

Hello Eddie. Just another piece of Pure Pentatonix Perfection. They all sound superb. Mitch with those ethereal sounds transports us to another place. Matt on the bass is so smooth. 11 years now for PTX. This is a cover of the Cranberries. Loved your reaction. You captured it all.
I believe they recorded this cover during lockdown when they were all in their own homes and the video was filmed like this to give it cohesion. It's a beautiful rendition of the Cranberries' Dreams, isn't it?
