Nice video 👍 I grew up a few blocks from OB, playing there as a kid, hanging on the sea wall, surfing and working on the beach etc later on in life - 2003 there we're many Female Crabs that we're taken, day and night, people were getting caught - and a night time sting LEs caught some guy with 89 Female Crabs😮 in the parking lot of sloat.
And I thought OnlyFans was the only site with clickbait titles. Or did you get a warning for still winding when the dfg agent asked to check your license and you didn’t comply right away? 😂 I have been to ocean beach a few times, caught a few here and there. Nice video 👍
@@lenbata it depends where you are fishing. From the surf you are allowed as many rods as you can manage. Depending on wave energy I run between 2-4 rods, with 4 rods being nonstop casting and checking each one.
If it’s from the beach, the rule is as many as you can effectively handle. For me that changes depending on how rough the conditions are with 4 rods being used if it is calm. From the pier or any jetty you are limited to 2 rods
You can’t get one. It is illegal to take Dungeness crab from anywhere inside the Golden Gate Bridge. If you are looking for rock crab a normal fishing license will do
I used to say to volks and I still do, that pending on what you are fishing for and if you have never attended law school, next best thing to drop your fishing plan is *to bring a lawyer with you* because the F&G Code is in and by itself a bear.
There should be some around, but they are much more in abundance closer to San Francisco. I hear of people getting some from boats down there, but not many from shore
So cool that your lady is out there having a good time with you! I love the enthusiasm!
Im glad they’re out there. I have seen so many poachers at that beach the last few years. Glad DFG is aware of the situation
Right there with you. The poachers have been bold and dumb.
they got smash grabs people crapping on streets Sf worried about crab poachers lol

Thank you! Let’s not let poachers ruin our fun 🤙
Awesome video! Good catch! Mine was the winner at 7.313"
Good stuff! Thought I had a great chance once I knew mine was over 7”.
Nice win! All I got was babies at opening day
Good video. Just subscribed good luck
Thank you, and thanks for the sub. Best of luck out there!
Funny, DFG still asking...how do you measure this? Lol
Right? I think they were mostly looking for license or overall numbers 😂🤷♂️
Im Glad You Had Your Lsssss 5.0 On 👉 Point!!! 🦀
Didn’t catch me lacking
Do u have to have the extra crab add on on a fishing license or will just a sport fishing license work crabbing on beach?
You only need a fishing license to crab from the beach. Best of luck out there

Thank you! The agents were actually pretty chill this time. Best of luck out there!
Hi. Thanks for your Vid.
I was wondering if your casting past the waves coming in or are you casting on the waves?
I search around until I find a spot that is producing crab, usually darker water. Sometimes the deeper water is close and doesn’t require far casting.
Can you use 3 poles?

What was the tide at when you caught the crab?
All crab were caught during outgoing tide.
What’s that thing you’re using to hold the line while casting?
It’s a breakaway cannon. Helps keep my casting finger happy when throwing braid and heavy weights. They are cheap on Amazon
How do I get a license to catch dungeness crab with a net in San Francisco (pier area)?
You can’t get one. It is illegal to take Dungeness crab from anywhere inside the Golden Gate Bridge. If you are looking for rock crab a normal fishing license will do

Is there crab in Monterey?

How many rods can you use for snare?
If you’re snaring from a pier or jetty you are restricted to 2 rods, but at the beach you are allowed as many as you can handle
@@BetterOddsFishing thanks for the reply
@@BetterOddsFishingis no license needed for snaring off a jetty?
@chiefinmota3712 certain wharf and docks through california do not require a license.
You mentioned they were busting poachers, how do poachers on the beach work?
They are taking undersized crab.
@@MrJmasta4 Ah I see
Keeping under size, more than ten, or without a fishing license
One more. Using a snare with more than 6 loops.
Last caveat. Catching Dungeness on a beach or anywhere *east* of the GGB is also malum prohibitum.
So where’s the part where you got busted?!?
You must’ve missed it
