This episode is hard for me to watch, because so many people love to latch onto that "it's never too late" message and be like "it's so true, you can't give up on your dreams," but all I can think about is how they're like 22 years old and they've barely had time to HAVE dreams, much less to watch them die. Now, I don't know how old you are, but I was almost feeling that way this time... and then you mentioned that Sein was healing his inner child, and that stopped me cold. That is a fantastic observation. He's not just "following his dream" when he decides to join up with Frieren's party; he is taking steps to recover from trauma. The fact that you recognized that tells me you understand how hard that decision must have been for him, even though it was slowly killing him to stay in the village. So... um... from a 45-year-old with a quarter-century of regrets about the way his life has turned out so far, *thank you* for that display of emotional intelligence. It hit me like an unexpected gesture of gentle kindness and we could all use more of those in our lives. ❤❤❤
I think you never played RPG before right? HAhaha, in fantasy settings of Role Playing Games (just like Frieren world), the healing and education are made by Clerics or Priests, in RPG they are normally the healer class. thats because in the past, Churchs were the first "hospitals" and healing places
I'd say embrace the power of AND. Frieren is sometimes the most oblivious person to ever make it to their second millennia of life, and sometimes she has her little gremlin moments.
5:31 the fact that they go to a church for healing reminds me of a lot of gaming and RPG tropes where the priest or cleric is just another magic-user class, usually for healing and defensive spells. And basically, that's how it works in Frieren's world too. They're not the same as mages, but are a different kind of magic user. So we can assume Heiter was extremely useful to the party of heroes, when he wasn't hungover.

Great reaction thank you for reacting. I think frieren kinda knows and also just is kinda socially awkward. its a hard fine line to tell! sometimes I think she's just scared of Fern telling her off (I'd be scared too!)
Frieren is semi aware she is what you called her "little shit" like when she is trying to stall yeah she did it on purpose, but when it comes to other stuff like emergency or the seduction showed this episdoe, she actually being clueless since being an elf is just like that for those subject.
