Im really excited to use the Foundational Phonics Word Mastery with my 7 year old daughter. Thank you for all you do! You are incredibly helpful. I just discovered you within this last month or so and I'm so thankful!!
@@melissadoner933 I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m so glad I found your channel!
@@Esther0101 I’m glad you found it too!
I’m the same way. I love vintage curriculum but am not a Charlotte mason style homeschooler. I actually use a combination of Abeka for Math, LA and Bible with the Mcguffeys, Ray’s Arithmetic and a few grammar and lesson consumables from mom’s delight. I love how flexible we can be.
Same here! Curriculum is a buffet and I intend to make my own plate!
I use almost everything you do, Love my old math books and I even bought old Catholic readers from Catholic schools on Ebay. They are like Dick and Jane books, I bought up until 8th grade. I even have the new math book as well, I also us the same new phonics program as well but we do 2 phonics programs , the other is Eclectic Foundations Language Arts they use McGuffey Readers with it, it is amazing, I love them both. Guess I'm boring as well lol...
That all sounds delightful to me!
Another Catholic convert here lol. I was actually an ANTI Catholic when I started my homeschool channel. 😂
I haven’t posted much though since the death of our youngest in 2021. 💔
We are using the learn math fast for a couple of our kids but love Denison for math in high school.
@@SaltyTribeCo I’m so sorry about your youngest. My heart breaks just reading those words. Your comment gave my brain a shake. I can get really focused on detailed goals and mastering skills and that reminder about what really matters cuts right through my type A tendencies.
I’ll check out Denison. I’m not familiar with that one.
My husband and I left our non-denominational church and now go to a reformed leaning Baptist church. We sadly have very few churches near us that still teach the Bible. :/
Have you heard of R.C. Sproul? He’s got great free teachings online.
I've heard that name. I'll find him and listen if I can. We actually just visited a new church today (another non-denominational but baptist leaning as well) and the pastor was preaching straight from the bible and it was so refreshing!
@@landofkakiakahomeschoolwe struggled for years to find a biblically sound church! We honestly were getting jaded with the churches around us that we were attending- and wrestling with the Lord about how to have community and what church should look like. Only 4.5 months ago we found a delightful church. It’s very traditional, singing hymns, choir, expository preaching and a community of people who are genuinely seeking to follow Christ. There is hope! I can see now how God was taking us on a journey and teaching us through that season but feel at peace that there are sound believers and churches out there. If it’s any help they are a “Bible Church” and I’ve thought maybe other churches with the name Bible church would be similar. Praying the Lord leads your family to where you are suppose to be in His perfect timing ❤
@@landofkakiakahomeschool He’s a wonderful pastor that has gone to be with the Lord. His teachings have been very helpful to us.
Praying for you and your family as you go through this journey. We went through it a couple of years ago. Finding a biblical church is such an amazing, rich blessing.
Have you looked at MasterMath? Free math topic teaching videos and worksheets for 6th-Algebra 1. Your oldest son should be able to do it independently.
@@rachelembree6175 no I’ve never heard of it! I’ll check it out. I’d love videos.
Thank you for sharing! This looks great!
How funny, I just bought this curriculum! And had hardly seen anything about it on UA-cam. But since posting a video about it, I have heard from so many families who have used and loved this program! It’s such a perfect phonics companion to the McGuffeys and reminds me a lot of your companion notebooks.
And I agree- I think it will be a nice substitute to Teach Your Child. My daughter loathed that book.
@@ashleymurphy4813 so funny! Yes, I think they compliment each other well!
Catholic convert here, and I felt the same way before we converted.
@@hometaughthappy3580 I’ve been learning so much from Catholics lately!
@ It just made more sense to me. Another thing I had issues with was there were no Christmas services at a lot of churches unless Christmas was on a Sunday. At a family member’s church they decided to take two weeks off of Sunday services to just “give people a break and free weekends.” 😬
@ that’s true!
