I seriously wish that Xbox gives it a go for State of Play / Nintendo Direct events, at least 2 or 3 of these separate short events x year (for specific Xbox games like Hellblade 2 and Avowed) in addition to annual E3 events.
MVG took his external HDD from his 1S and attached it to the Series X. Of course, it needs to do a check for all those games on the drive. Even if you make your Series X your home console, every game on that hard drive will run a check, thats why you see “Getting it ready…” message when you launch. In 20 years, MVG and everyone else will be close to or at senior age, will Xbox games be important then? Out of all the companies, MS has the best to keep things running. Valve, Sony, Nintendo dont have the data centers MS has.
The issue is that Sony has the mind share and no matter what they do as far as announcing games, be it E3 or a state of play or whatever people will be all over it. To be honest the only way I feel the Xbox can even compete for Mind share is to actually show games that will shut people's mouths up. Sony does games that have movie like qualities to them, maybe Xbox should one up them in that department.
Agreed. And i also agree with Jez and Rand on this topic that Sony is SMART to have their 15 min deep dive gameplay of Horizon Forbidden West 2 weeks before E3 even if they are NOT going to be there BECAUSE everyone(Sony fans, Microsoft fans, videogame fans in general) will be comparing whatever Microsoft/Bethesda shows to Horizon Forbidden West. I'm an xbox guy but i love the State Of Plays for Returnal, then Ratchet & Clank and now the more recent Horizon Forbidden West. Not saying Microsoft does not know what their doing because they have done a wonderful job so far this generation compared to 2013 but I loved what Sony was doing. They are smart and timely with their decisions.

I dont think the CGI trailers were the problem last year. the problem was they had nothing else with it. announcement trailers are great they are exactly why we get so hype about e3 etc for new and exciting announcements.. stick as many as you want in there. but dont just have announcement trailers and nothing else. thats where they went wrong. halo gameplay shit the bed and noone could even talk about anything else after that.
I'm all in on the digital, and just had my wifi go down finding out that you can't play some games on your 'home' console when offline. I tried a few, including GOW 5 single player that would not work. I'm okay for the occasional checking in by the console, maybe once a week or month - but a flat 'nope' on games starting because there is no wifi sucks a bit hard. Recommend they turn off the wifi and see what actually works or not.
I always get excited for E3. I am 50 years old and I have watched every E3 since it started. I used to own a game store and get videos from the show floor. I still have one where you see Twelve Tales Conkers Quest running on N64 before it became Bad Fur Day. This new generation of gamers needs to stop whining about these shows and whether they should get hyped or not. Last years Sony and XBOX shows were great. Lots of new announcements and lots of games coming for both systems. Yes XBOX needs 1st party games but there are lots of 3rd party games out there and Game Pass is killing it so just be patient.
Rand sounds really unenthusiastic about this year’s E3. There are numerous unannounced AAA titles that are going to be announced this year. Also, just because a game receives a delay, doesn’t mean it won’t be shown at E3.
I got that vibe as well. Rand Sounding underwhelmed after Sony state of play of horizon and the impressive visuals on display. Dispute COVID it looks like Sonys first party pipeline was looking to have a stela first year and they still can deliver but MS fans seem to always make excuses for why XBOX doesn’t /can’t compete in a serious way for great games 🤦🏾♂️

First party games are the only thing which have kept Nintendo still relevant and Nintendo games sell mostly in Japan. Xbox already makes more money than Nintendo and Xbox has also third party support so Xbox doesn't need to follow Nintendo's footsteps
It might just be me but I see everyone talking about what is not going to be there and that is why its bad. Not what is going to be shown. Sony shows off one game and the talk is about Sony has all the games. If Microsoft shows a bunch of games, it will be about what is not shown. I am looking foward to Ascent, Halo, Forza, Scorn, Darktide, and what ever Bethesda has coming. Just need to be on the same playing field.
You guys have mentioned a "Lego" Halo game, but Mega Bloks / Mega Construx has the rights to Halo. As well there was a mega Bloks Halo game in production and believe it was canceled. You can find video of it on UA-cams.
Hard to explain to some people that not everyone is interested in Game Pass. People still have the option to buy the game. It seems to go over Sony guys heads, they just think everyone is doing $1 Game Pass trials.

What an extremely negative podcast about E3. And I'm not talking about tempering expectations. Also, i mean, i get the whole covid delay thing but c'mon, i work in entertainment, Covid only hampered our work for about 3 months total (well where i work anyway) and things were back up and running but with masks on. if this showcase ends up being a bummer, i wouldn't be surprised. it's been a bummer for years now. i HOPE it's a great show but who knows at this point, we'll just have to wait.
I think the whole Xbox DRM issue is nothing more than just FUD, Microsoft are highly, and I mean HIGHLY, unlikely to just one day turn off ALL of their servers. Microsoft and Xbox have made it abundantly clear that they value game preservation WAY MORE than the competition and I am willing to bet anyone that 10 years from now, you'll still be able to play an OG Xbox game like KOTOR 2 or Morrowind on whatever console comes out after the Xbox Series X|S.

yup. i fully expected HellBlade to be at least presentable this year with a release next year, but now all the news about them switching to UE5 caught me off guard. No shade but y'all have been hyping up E3 since the game awards even possibly before that, not just you guys but pretty much ALL xbox "insider" youtubers. Now all of a sudden it's "temper expectations" etc lmao. which ultimately means it'll be another "mehh" showcase besides Starfield. but look, as a gamer in general, (primarily xbox) i'm excited but not too excited, ya know?. Xbox has consistently let me down for 8 or 9 years now at E3 and i don't expect that to change regardless if there was a pandemic or not. using the pandemic as an excuse at this point does nothing to quell the crowd because, as i stated, xbox has been a constant let down at E3 for almost a decade and i don't think this year or next year will change it. regardless of acquisitions, xbox has had nothing great for first party games and even WITH all these additions to XGS almost nothing comes to fruition besides Halo/Forza/Gears until (possibly) now. now, i'm not saying they need to empty the tank and show everything they have but they should at least show 3 or 4 big hitters or at least show a little of whats in the pipeline instead of VFX teasers. while Starfield, Forza and HALO are great, i don't think thats enough. i see many players wanting Xbox to delve into NEW original IP instead of the same old "ole faithful's". I HOPE i'm happy with this showcase, i guess we'll see in 2 weeks.

We heard from this channel and others that MS cut last generation short in order to fear up for this generation and now Rand is saying they were targeting 2022 so either someone was making stuff up or the plan was to just have barely any releases for years and we are just meant to put up with it

Playing devils advocate you don’t need a PlayStation yet because there’s not a lot of next gen titles out ye. Maybe that’s what the writer was trying to pass along. Let’s say you buy a PS5 then you’re pissed because there’s like only 2 or 3 next gen titles out. What I guess he’s trying to get across is wait u til there are more titles out there and it’s not easy to find a console right now anyway. There reason you wouldn’t say that about the new Xbox console is because with the performance boost and the power of the new Xbox console you can visually see the difference in the current gen games. With higher frames rates and sometimes better graphics it looks like a new game. I haven’t heard that claim on the ps5 console. So maybe the writer is trying to push that point. I mean you could wait on the new Xbox too. But Microsoft is making the current game look so much better so you can currently see the performance boost. Deadlines are needed to control budgets and ensure a constant flow of content. That's why Xbox has bought so many studios, so they can release a new game every few months to maintain GamePass interest and growth. However Xbox hasnt planned properly and instead of having a steady flow of first party exclusives release they're seeing these huge "dry" periods with no release and then will see a load of games drop all at once (Avowed, Fable, Everwild, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Compulsion New game all likely to land in 2023) followed by another dry patch. I hope I'm wrong and we see a steady flow of games release or Microsoft can fill the dry periods with 3rd party exclusives.
I love gears, but I think that the coalition has done a medicore job. Game looks good, but the characters suck and the story is terrible. Open world too for a bit. Hivebusters was meh.
I think people will be dissatisfied with the Microsoft conference for two main reasons. 1) Bethesda, people are still rather sore over that. 2) The pandemic has pushed a lot of release dates and if there isn't a lot of 2021 dates, well you get the point.

But I also don't need to hear the doom and gloom and the pronouncements that Xbox is done if they don't deliver the best e3 ever. I mean.. Meh. Sucks to say wait another year or two. But. What an extremely negative podcast about E3. And I'm not talking about tempering expectations. I'm talking about being extremely cynical when the even hasn't happened yet, regardless of how much YOU were disappointed about how much YOU hyped up last year's show.
Just wait until E3 to have anything to say. Maybe it will suck. Maybe it won't. But you both are far more negative about E3 than you were last week only because Horizon Forbidden West was shown.
@@toohzxb2105 that's probably the case. just like i said in a comment, they've been hyping up E3 almost weekly since last fall, now all of a sudden it's a "temper expectations" situation. the tone all these "insiders" have been displaying is very different & slightly negative ever since Jason Shreier put the nail in the Starfield release nonsense (granted idk who in their right mind thought it was releasing this year lol). Also, i mean, i get the whole covid delay thing but c'mon, i work in entertainment, Covid only hampered our work for about 3 months total (well where i work anyway) and things were back up and running but with masks on. if this showcase ends up being a bummer, i wouldn't be surprised. it's been a bummer for years now. i HOPE it's a great show but who knows at this point, we'll just have to wait.

I think the whole Xbox DRM issue is nothing more than just FUD, Microsoft are highly, and I mean HIGHLY, unlikely to just one day turn off ALL of their servers. Microsoft and Xbox have made it abundantly clear that they value game preservation WAY MORE than the competition and I am willing to bet anyone that 10 years from now, you'll still be able to play an OG Xbox game like KOTOR 2 or Morrowind on whatever console comes out after the Xbox Series X|S.

yup. i fully expected HellBlade to be at least presentable this year with a release next year, but now all the news about them switching to UE5 caught me off guard. UE5 isn't even fully done right?. plus, if they're just now switching to UE5 then damn, what were they doing this entire time. i swear i read somewhere that Pre-Prod was finished in 2019 or something (i could be wrong). seems like we'll be waiting a long while for it smh

No shade but y'all have been hyping up E3 since the game awards even possibly before that, not just you guys but pretty much ALL xbox "insider" youtubers. Now all of a sudden it's "temper expectations" etc lmao. which ultimately means it'll be another "mehh" showcase besides Starfield. but look, as a gamer in general, (primarily xbox) i'm excited but not too excited, ya know?. Xbox has consistently let me down for 8 or 9 years now at E3 and i don't expect that to change regardless if there was a pandemic or not. using the pandemic as an excuse at this point does nothing to quell the crowd because, as i stated, xbox has been a constant let down at E3 for almost a decade and i don't think this year or next year will change it. regardless of acquisitions, xbox has had nothing great for first party games and even WITH all these additions to XGS almost nothing comes to fruition besides Halo/Forza/Gears until (possibly) now.
now, i'm not saying they need to empty the tank and show everything they have but they should at least show 3 or 4 big hitters or at least show a little of whats in the pipeline instead of VFX teasers. while Starfield, Forza and HALO are great, i don't think thats enough. i see many players wanting Xbox to delve into NEW original IP instead of the same old "ole faithful's".
I HOPE i'm happy with this showcase, i guess we'll see in 2 weeks.

We heard from this channel and others that MS cut last generation short in order to fear up for this generation and now Rand is saying they were targeting 2022 so either someone was making stuff up or the plan was to just have barely any releases for years and we are just meant to put up with it

Playing devils advocate you don’t need a PlayStation yet because there’s not a lot of next gen titles out ye. Maybe that’s what the writer was trying to pass along. Let’s say you buy a PS5 then you’re pissed because there’s like only 2 or 3 next gen titles out. What I guess he’s trying to get across is wait u til there are more titles out there and it’s not easy to find a console right now anyway. There reason you wouldn’t say that about the new Xbox console is because with the performance boost and the power of the new Xbox console you can visually see the difference in the current gen games. With higher frames rates and sometimes better graphics it looks like a new game. I haven’t heard that claim on the ps5 console. So maybe the writer is trying to push that point. I mean you could wait on the new Xbox too. But Microsoft is making the current game look so much better so you can currently see the performance boost. I just don’t take that article as something to piss me off. But I’m not looking to buy a ps5 either. I’m happy with my series X and One X

think it's funny that people are talking about Bitcoin I don't see why anyone would invest in this just from business sense it just doesn't sound feasible and now that I know the history behind it is just a waste of money and it's not good business since if you want to make good business sense and good profit I would suggest make headphones by perhaps getting shares of GameStop it doesn't matter where you are meaning what country you live in for that and don't worry about the ads on UA-cam because they're completely nonsense when it comes to bitcoins and also as far as Halo is concerned I think that Halo would look better if the graphics and the details is better but at the end of the day it's all about the gameplay for me.

Great show guys, but Mass Effect, how is anyone playing that janky mess of a game, it's horrendous on every level. Days Gone was incredible 120 hours. Underrated. Loved it.

Deadlines are needed to control budgets and ensure a constant flow of content. That's why Xbox has bought so many studios, so they can release a new game every few months to maintain GamePass interest and growth. However Xbox hasnt planned properly and instead of having a steady flow of first party exclusives release they're seeing these huge "dry" periods with no release and then will see a load of games drop all at once (Avowed, Fable, Everwild, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Compulsion New game all likely to land in 2023) followed by another dry patch. I hope I'm wrong and we see a steady flow of games release or Microsoft can fill the dry periods with 3rd party exclusives.
I love gears, but I think that the coalition has done a medicore job. Game looks good, but the characters suck and the story is terrible. Open world too for a bit. Hivebusters was meh.

I think people will be dissatisfied with the Microsoft conference for two main reasons. 1) Bethesda, people are still rather sore over that. 2) The pandemic has pushed a lot of release dates and if there isn't a lot of 2021 dates, well you get the point.
