It will work if you read directions and do it carefully. Solid advice. You're a fun, positive instructor for DIY. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos out!
Rampage is my most used module, first euro kit I ever built for myself, it rocks! Great video Sam!
This was my first module with the even vco and i have to say that it is awesome!!
Also be careful if you get the kit, it is quite a chore to build it because of the bijillion components it has!!!
Another ace video Sam. A great tip for getting the LEDs flush with the front panel, that you may already know, is to put masking tape on the panel where the LED comes through. That way the LED doesn't peak through and it's also held in place by the sticky to help you solder. Keep up the good work! I have a commission to build a Rampage just now for a mate!
I am definitely going to get in to all this. Your videos are so bad ass.
it actually works in vcv rack too !! awesome ! good solder job btw
For someone with no experience, (who plans to practice soldering first on something else), roughly how many hours would this module take to complete from opening the bag to turning it on? 3? 6? 8?
5:38 Though the video was about to go into an adderall binge montage.
Never heard of BEFACO before... will check them out. Great content as always!
The background tune for this video is stuck on repeat in my head
you were the exact inspiration ive been looking for!
I read this as beeftaco rampage. My American education and diet is showing.
JustAMacGuffin lol I thought he was collaborating with someone called beef taco at first
Just out of curiosity, what were those two 1/4 watt resistors doing at 4:30 on the right side of the board? Anyways, great video, if I did go eurorack I probably would have gotten some Befaco kits. They look pretty rad, but I went 5U instead. Tons of cool DIY stuff there as well.
yeah my bad. i dropped the resistor that was in the kit haha. couldnt find it! so had to make do with 2 that were twice the value in parralel. cus it was all i had. so yeah. ha. 5u Praizeeeee!
Sweet video, i want one. now all i need is money.....and a job...
+1 just ordered one...
Look mum actual pretty modules...
As colour blind/lazy person, I'd advise just getting a multimeter or a Chinese component checker. It'll do the hard work for you.
On resisters that is
What's a "Chinese component checker" exactly ? :-)
probably he means sth like this: www.banggood.com/86-Plastic-Shell-DIY-Meter-Tester-Kit-For-Capacitance-ESR-Inductance-p-956240.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN
Got one myself, it's absolutely great! :D Does transistors, resistors, caps, diodes and whatnot, and funnily it's even quite accurate
get a FAN!
funthementhal I am his fan
Adorable
great 4 resistors is mobile phone app 4 free great videos thanks
you are so cool
no one :
me when i get my finger stuck behind a door : 2:13
can I have the track link pls!!!!!! is awesome
🤣 That is 300€ for only that rampage part! Id stay for those really diy parts, thanks.
Keep your tip clean, Mate!
Psst, considering your (unless im mistaken) fairly standard non temperature controlled soldering iron, never put your soldering iron on your electrical components, there's a fair chance you will 'cook' them causing them to act different then intended (more/less resistance, damage IC's, etc etc) even more important then usual because your working with audio imo. Even though alot of sources recommend against it, ive found that with a very thin tip that you keep clean, can put solder onto the tip and have it drip onto the connection point and create a perfect connection without ever heating up the component, you might wanna try that on one of your simpler builds once to compare if it makes a difference, i have a feeling it will.
no, just noo
wtf are you even talking about dripping solder to prevent heat? do you even solder bro? the heat isn't going to cook anything unless you've gotten it so hot there is obvious damage to the board. the whole point of soldering isn't just to glue the components in place. your creating a seamless bond between the connections that is as atomically one solid material. eliminating any oxidation. dripping would create cold solder joints everywhere and the circuit would have a very short lifespan.
i will say though if you see this Sam. Tin your fucking iron man
It can be an oscillator - WHAAA STOP IT :D
Diy befaco sallen Key b22 please!
Dude, you really need to re-tin your soldering iron or buy a new tip. A clean tip means much more clean and reliable connections.
Thank god they made it on VCV Rack too, so i can go and play with it after i see this.
Soldering iron tip burnt uo after only 2 PCBs? Look mum, no soldering iron sponge!
(even a piece of wadded up kitchen roll would do)
yeah it was a sketch as fuck soldering iron. bought it in the previous video for 5 quid. after this video. just filed the stub back into a tip again. but yeah that was speedy. and yeah i was using an iron sponge the whole way through too. but the fact is its possible. to do it with a 5 quid soldering iron
What power is it? 60W?
30w
Oh, dear. LOL!
Buy hey, it got built, so...
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER get some rosin off ebay from china for a buck and a brillo pad. keep soaking it in fresh solder ever few joints while u work. ive had tips last hundreds of circuits before they started to corrode using that method
Haha.. An Envelope Generator as an oscillator. Nice work! Good video
Soldering is not a difficult skill to learn.
Track name plz
out in next release :) 3 weeks!!
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER excellent, sounds like a great track.
MAKE A SYNTH WATCH
A FUCKEN SYNTH ON YOUR WRIST
I would never buy an used module from that guy even though it says in his reverb add "MINT/Almost never used"
ha yeah. i wouldnt either. good job i aint planning on selling. ill leave the manufacturing to the ones with more finesse.
