She sang cuts from ms Saigon, les miz, phantom of the opera, Dreamgirls, Wicked, Filipino theatre acts, etc. She also did her rendition of still hurting, corner of the sky, send in the clowns, what i did for love, climb every mountain, etc. And it was worth every cent we paid. I think M-Angels was not impressed with only the first video (I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing), which I personally agree. However, for the next 2 performances (Ne Me Quitte Pas & Piece of Sky), she obviously loved it. For me, these are 2 of Regine's best performances. I'm still waiting for them to react to Regine's cover of "What Kind of Fool Am I."
I am so lucky to watch that concert of Regine V. personally at Greenbelt 1, Makati. The concert is supposed to be only 1 month show (4 weekends) but because the tickets were sold like hotcakes, it lasted 6 or 7 months I think. Regine tries to mimic the voice of Barbra Streisand because that concert is called "Songbird sings Streisand". The place is not a huge place, it is just a cinema actually, but when you are there and when she starts to sing, you feel like you are somewhere very far 😁 hehehe that concert is MAGNIFICO! 😚

I love her songs. She was once the most famous singer in the Philippines. God. I miss her when she was the only one. Her songs that I grew up with. Very memorable. Love her. She was at her best in the 80s and 90s.
Isn't she STILL the most famous singer in the Philippines? Haha I mean, sure, she was practically invisible during her maternity leave, and her voice took a while to get back into shape - compounded by the acid reflux, of course, e.g. the Silver concert where she almost completely lost her voice - but now her technique is as solid as ever, and any decline in vocal quality would only be due to the natural process of aging. In fact, IMHO, at 46, her high notes are the best among any female belter at that age, past or present. Even Barbra stopped singing high Es live relatively early. And among the current crop of belters her age... no contest. Sorry, got derailed. Anyway, she is arguably still the most famous singer in the Philippines. She may not be as visible as some of the younger singers, but she still draws the largest PAYING audience for her live concerts, not just in youtube or album sales. And as for her prime, I would propose extending it to the 2000s, since I think that was when she became fully confident in herself as an artist, as evidenced by her choices in her concerts and her weekly TV show where she sang a new song each week for God knows how many years. Not to mention, most of her performances on youtube are actually from that decade, including the top requests for reaction videos. Sorry to wax lyrical, but I just love her so much. Haha I actually watched this concert live (well, one of the shows - I dunno if it was the actual night that this clip was recorded.)

M-Angels reaction is so genuine. She is very impressed, finally! This is the one of the many perfect songs that really fits Regine's voice. Lots of filipinos got offended when M-Angel /female reviewer was not impressed with the first two performances of Regine that they reviewed. I agree that in some songs Regine just sounded like she's caterwauling, some songs does not need to be screamed. Good review. I think M-Angels was not impressed with only the first video (I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing), which I personally agree. However, for the next 2 performances (Ne Me Quitte Pas & Piece of Sky), she obviously loved it. For me, these are 2 of Regine's best performances. I'm still waiting for them to react to Regine's cover of "What Kind of Fool Am I."

I am so lucky to watch that concert of Regine V. personally at Greenbelt 1, Makati. The concert is supposed to be only 1 month show (4 weekends) but because the tickets were sold like hotcakes, it lasted 6 or 7 months I think. Regine tries to mimic the voice of Barbra Streisand because that concert is called "Songbird sings Streisand". The place is not a huge place, it is just a cinema actually, but when you are there and when she starts to sing, you feel like you are somewhere very far 😁 hehehe that concert is MAGNIFICO! 😚

I love her songs. She was once the most famous singer in the Philippines. God. I miss her when she was the only one. Her songs that I grew up with. Very memorable. Love her. She was at her best in the 80s and 90s.
Isn't she STILL the most famous singer in the Philippines? Haha I mean, sure, she was practically invisible during her maternity leave, and her voice took a while to get back into shape - compounded by the acid reflux, of course, e.g. the Silver concert where she almost completely lost her voice - but now her technique is as solid as ever, and any decline in vocal quality would only be due to the natural process of aging. In fact, IMHO, at 46, her high notes are the best among any female belter at that age, past or present. Even Barbra stopped singing high Es live relatively early. And among the current crop of belters her age... no contest.
Sorry, got derailed. Anyway, she is arguably still the most famous singer in the Philippines. She may not be as visible as some of the younger singers, but she still draws the largest PAYING audience for her live concerts, not just in youtube or album sales.
And as for her prime, I would propose extending it to the 2000s, since I think that was when she became fully confident in herself as an artist, as evidenced by her choices in her concerts and her weekly TV show where she sang a new song each week for God knows how many years. Not to mention, most of her performances on youtube are actually from that decade, including the top requests for reaction videos.
Sorry to wax lyrical, but I just love her so much. Haha I actually watched this concert live (well, one of the shows - I dunno if it was the actual night that this clip was recorded.)

There are many famous singers in the Philippines who are as famous as she is these days. But for me, no one can ever match her prowess as far as singing is concerned. And, she was the first. We are both fans of her. So, chill. Lol.
