I don't think it's about getting bored, more like she lacks a strong lower register to sing low notes. Regine (before 2015) lacks support with notes lower than a D3. Her head voice is often nasal to average. Her voice truly shines in the upperbelt (E5-Bb5). In terms of mastery in all other areas of the voice, Lani Misalucha and Jaya are better. However Regine has a certain magic to her when she sings and that is what makes the singer that she is. It's the same but completely different kind quality that Mariah, Celine have.

Jaya shines in her lower reg. and mid range but lacks coordination in connecting her midrange to her upper belting and poor control of transitions and dynamics is passable. Lani shines in headvoice and dynamics but lacks resonance and support above D#5 in terms of chestvoice, also below average mixing technique.

Regine has wonder lower register and resonant in the early 2000's did C#3 and very deep sound. Regine owned All 3 register from low to upper. Try again before you say she does not resonate down when she is known for her low register despite having to high of a tessitura
“high” doesn’t necessarily mean “difficult” ‘cause difficulty is relative. For Regine, higher belts are her sweet spots and even if she can scoop some low notes, they’re not her comfort zone and she doesn’t sound the best in them. In this regard, you can say what’s “difficult” for Regine is not the high notes but the low notes and how to make those lows land and be interesting.
I love Regine 100%. I was at her R30 concert and at the age of near 50, she still killed it. However, Mariah songs are just not her style. During that concert, she said she was asked to do a Mariah song in one show and she had to learn it for TWO WEEKS because it's not her style. After this concert, she stopped doing Mariah songs often because it's not just her style. I also love Mariah and her songs are only hers to sing and so as Regine's. Respect for both great, individual, and amazing singers. P.S. the Audio of this video is not that clear which I think contributed to the factor why Regine didn't sound great.
I was smiling the whole time watching these reactors. Their reactions are genuine and they are really funny when they describe Regine's vocal agility, versatility, and tesitura. As for me, I agree when the guy said, "Mariah's songs are just Mariahs and it sounds awkward if other singers sing her songs if their voice lack raspiness and the airy tone." On the other side, I agree when the girl said, "Regine would sound far better if she tried to sing Mariah's songs in her own way and she did it in some parts of the songs." IMHO, there were some parts in the songs that sounded like Regine was trying to imitate Mariah, but it is also a fact that some parts of the songs, Regine sang them in her own way and effortlessly.
Again, what makes her stand out with her contemporaries & even with singers today is that she makes her own music, her tone (beautiful voice) is unmatched & she mastered her whistle noted like nobody’s business! Mariah is untouchable during her prime (90s) full stop!

The way I see it, since Mariah's songs are so difficult to sing, Regine wanted to sing them the way she did it to show she could do full sounding belts in the highest parts even better. She's gifted with a really strong pair of healthy lungs that produce better sounding very high full belts which even the great Mariah struggles in.
When i was in Elementary i hate regine because i love mariah... but when i realize what the real artist is i started to love regine. I love her character and how she inspired almost all of the aspiring singers in the Philippnes. Just sharing. 😊
You know this concert is full of medleys of all artists around the world from Mariah to Whitney to Sheena Easton to Spice girls and many more... All the songs are so hard to sing yet she has maintained that power and vocal stamina until the end of the concert. So far, ever since Mariah shined globally, it's only Regine Velasquez who have been singing her songs in the PHILIPPINES like it's so easy. Regine even sung the peak part of Butterfly while flying in the big dome. Regine even mentioned that she was challenged to sing Mariah songs and practiced it for two weeks because the people only believed it's only her who can give justice during her prime years but now with the likes of Kyla, and few new artists, they can sing it but not as effortless and powerful like Regine. To MGN, you are always good when it comes to describing how Regine does the song. Very creative and entertaining. I hope you guys watch her Spice Girls medley from this concert and also the Whitney Houston medley.. SUPERB! Regine is not only the Queen of high notes , and effortless emotional singing but also the Queen of Medley songs. She has tons of medley songs under her. HAHAHAH! Also, you can't deny the fact that she is Philippines' most beautiful singer ever. That's the reason why people never get tired of her watching coz she always nails every hairstyle and look which not most singers of today can pull off.

Mariah is THE queen of vocal slayage of all time, lets just begin with that, but Regine is also an amaaaazing vocalist too. Regine or Mori i would consider to be the Mariahs of the Philippines. Thats my humble opinion.
We love Regine so much... And having that said we know how and when she struggles. The young Regine has no depth "vocally " and when she tries the low notes the struggle is very evident. As she age her vocal range becomes wider in a sense that she manage to gain control with her low notes and can now hit them with proper depth and with proper soul. But Regine is Regine and Mariah is Mariah... Mariah's songs are sung with a butterfly signature with all the colours and melisma. What you witnessed here is how would a butterfly signature song will sound when it is being sang by a Songbird signature. Both signatures can fly indeed but a bird will always sore higher. #regineflair

If we try to sing Mariah songs it's not easy because it contains a lot of runs and belting but we're confident to hear regine sang Mariah's song because she's effortless to do runs and she can belts like it's normal thing for her.
Regine's voice doesn't really suit Mariah's songs. She's very Barbara/Celine. Maybe a little bit of Aretha but she (Regine) lacked soul during her younger years. Still a queen tho.

It's more about the difference between their tone and vocal ability of their voices. Regine just lacks Mariah's vocal agility and strength in the lower and head registers. Mariah's range is far wider than Regine's because Mariah can go higher as well as go much lower than Regine. Regine's sweet spot will always be her upper register, a place where Mariah's is often inconsistent.

Areas in the voice where Regine lacks mastery especially when compared to Mariah.

As far as lower register is concerned, Regine hit all the lower notes in that performance (although not as low as Mariah of course) except one time. Agility in the lower range, no question it's Mariah because she has that range. Vocal agility is not only about making intricate runs. It is also a vocal agility to jump from one octave to another in a single phrasing. Example, her performance of Piece of Sky is a highly dynamic song that I doubt even Streisand could match. She used alternatingly her chest voice and mix voice which required proper breathing technique. In terms of musicality, regine is a musician in her own right. Just because she doesn't compose songs does not mean she cannot improvise and add her own notes in her versions of songs.

Well good luck finding Mariah’s 100% LIVE version of Butterfly and Never Too Far 🤣🤣🤣 and her singing and finishing it like what we hear from her CDs! 😂 I disagree with vibrato and perceived “shakiness” ✌🏼 😂 it was obvious that Regine is singing it HER WAY while staying committed with the melody of these songs so you cant really compare it with Mariah’s 🙊😂 as to vocals, Regine’s approach is more on lyrical singing and more solid production of tone. Mariah is more of husky singing and breathy tone which makes her VIBRATO ALMOST NON-EXISTENT to be heard with clarity 😂 there is only one point in this video where regine’s low note is slightly off when she inserted a vibrato. Overall, Notes were sung beautifully, EVENLY, solidly and with clarity. No whispering or over breathiness, no FAKING the RUNS and the BELTING part 🙊🙊✌🏼✌🏼😂😂 I agree though that this is a Mariah song and high level of respect must be given with reference to her studio versions 👍🏼😂

The laughter and the fun are so contagious. I was smiling the whole time watching these reactors. Their reactions are genuine and they are really funny when they describe Regine's vocal agility, versatility, and tesitura. As for me, I agree when the guy said, "Mariah's songs are just Mariahs and it sounds awkward if other singers sing her songs if their voice lack raspiness and the airy tone." On the other side, I agree when the girl said, "Regine would sound far better if she tried to sing Mariah's songs in her own way and she did it in some parts of the songs."
IMHO, there were some parts in the songs that sounded like Regine was trying to imitate Mariah, but it is also a fact that some parts of the songs, Regine sang them in her own way and effortlessly.

The way I see it, since Mariah's songs are so difficult to sing, Regine wanted to sing them the way she did it to show she could do full sounding belts in the highest parts even better. She's gifted with a really strong pair of healthy lungs that produce better sounding very high full belts which even the great Mariah struggles in.

You know this concert is full of medleys of all artists around the world from Mariah to Whitney to Sheena Easton to Spice girls and many more... All the songs are so hard to sing yet she has maintained that power and vocal stamina until the end of the concert. So far, ever since Mariah shined globally, it's only Regine Velasquez who have been singing her songs in the PHILIPPINES like it's so easy. Regine even sung the peak part of Butterfly while flying in the big dome. Regine even mentioned that she was challenged to sing Mariah songs and practiced it for two weeks because the people only believed it's only her who can give justice during her prime years but now with the likes of Kyla, and few new artists, they can sing it but not as effortless and powerful like Regine.
To MGN, you are always good when it comes to describing how Regine does the song. Very creative and entertaining. I hope you guys watch her Spice Girls medley from this concert and also the Whitney Houston medley.. SUPERB! Regine is not only the Queen of high notes , and effortless emotional singing but also the Queen of Medley songs. She has tons of medley songs under her. HAHAHAH!

We love Regine so much... And having that said we know how and when she struggles. The young Regine has no depth "vocally " and when she tries the low notes the struggle is very evident. As she age her vocal range becomes wider in a sense that she manage to gain control with her low notes and can now hit them with proper depth and with proper soul. But Regine is Regine and Mariah is Mariah... Mariah's songs are sung with a butterfly signature with all the colours and melisma. What you witnessed here is how would a butterfly signature song will sound when it is being sang by a Songbird signature. Both signatures can fly indeed but a bird will always sore higher. #regineflair

It's more about the difference between their tone and vocal ability of their voices. Regine just lacks Mariah's vocal agility and strength in the lower and head registers. Mariah's range is far wider than Regine's because Mariah can go higher as well as go much lower than Regine. Regine's sweet spot will always be her upper register, a place where Mariah's is often inconsistent.

However Mariah's ease and power above F5 is not the same as Regine. Mariah's strength lies in her vocal agility, musicality and her Mid Belts, lower and head and whistle. Areas in the voice where Regine lacks mastery especially when compared to Mariah.

As far as lower register is concerned, Regine hit all the lower notes in that performance (although not as low as Mariah of course) except one time. Agility in the lower range, no question it's Mariah because she has that range.
Vocal agility is not only about making intricate runs. It is also a vocal agility to jump from one octave to another in a single phrasing. Example, her performance of Piece of Sky is a highly dynamic song that I doubt even Streisand could match. She used alternatingly her chest voice and mix voice which required proper breathing technique.
In terms of musicality, regine is a musician in her own right. Just because she doesn't compose songs does not mean she cannot improvise and add her own notes in her versions of songs.

Like singing Narito Ako? I think not. Regine have mastered the fifth octave and it's part of her soprano voice with long sustained notes. This kind of belting is not Mariah's forte but this is Regine's comfort zone.
Moses Gonzales Mastered fifth octave? She can’t support above D5, gets nasal often, has unstable vibrato, pushes notes and raises her larynx. This is not what I call mastering the fifth octave. Someone who mastered it was Sohyang. There’s a huge gap between Sohyang and Regine.

I disagree with vibrato and perceived “shakiness” ✌🏼 😂 it was obvious that Regine is singing it HER WAY while staying committed with the melody of these songs so you cant really compare it with Mariah’s 🙊😂 as to vocals, Regine’s approach is more on lyrical singing and more solid production of tone. Mariah is more of husky singing and breathy tone which makes her VIBRATO ALMOST NON-EXISTENT to be heard with clarity 😂 there is only one point in this video where regine’s low note is slightly off when she inserted a vibrato. Overall, Notes were sung beautifully, EVENLY, solidly and with clarity. No whispering or over breathiness, no FAKING the RUNS and the BELTING part 🙊🙊✌🏼✌🏼😂😂

Their smiles are so real, and I can't help myself but to smile too. Not a grin or simple smile, but a big one. My mind is getting stressed out of the negativity I had this day, but this cheered me up. Thanks to the both of you for that, for giving an honest reaction and happiness. It's really a stress relief. :) I don't know what to encode or write anymore, 'cause I am just so happy.
